My husband was recently honored by our church. He and two others were selected to be new deacons. The church nominated people, then the deacons interviewed the candidates, prayed about it, then ordained the 3 men on Sunday, January 29, 2012 in the morning service. Zach did such a great job giving his testimony. He is such a great leader for our family and church. I'm so proud to be his wife.

Christmas 2011 Round 2
We spent Christmas weekend with Zach's family up in Hale Center. The following week was spent playing with toys, having Christmas with our neighbors, taking down all of the Christmas decorations, cleaning, and reorganizing all of the toys.
On Friday, I got a very special treat. Not only did my sister and her family arrive, but one of my dearest friends, Ginger, came to visit! Ginger and her family moved to Stamford when she and I were in the 4th grade. We became instant friends. We were close all through high school despite hanging with different crowds due to boyfriends and church. We went to separate colleges. She went to San Angelo, while I went to Tech. We still stayed friends and went to visit each other. After 3 years of that, she got accepted to PT school at Tech and moved to Lubbock! I was in need of a roommate, so she moved in with me. Soon after that, my sister moved out of the dorm and we got a 3 bedroom apartment. We had so much fun! As the end of PT school neared for Ginger, she went to Midland (??) and then Austin for her clinicals. Cheryl and I missed her a lot. She met a guy from Houston while in Austin and it was bye bye Ginger after that. They are now married, have 3 beautiful children, and live and work near Houston. The worst part came when her parents moved from Stamford to San Angelo 3 years ago. We still saw each other on holidays until then. So, it had been 3 years since we had met up when she called to say she and her husband were on their way to San Angelo for the weekend and they were thinking of taking a day trip to Stamford. I'm so glad they came. We got to meet each other's youngest kids for the first time and catch up. The kids had a good time playing together as well.
Friday night after Ginger and her family headed back to San Angelo, we celebrated Christmas with my parents, sister, and her family. Saturday, New Years Eve (Mom and Dad's 35th Wedding Anniversary), we celebrated Christmas with some of my dad's family, my grandmother, and my cousin Blaine. We ate some good food, exchanged a few gifts, watched the kids ride all of their toys since the weather was beautiful, and shot some of Mark and Chad's guns. It was a great time! We didn't get to share it with my aunt and cousin from Houston because Kara will be having baby Sariah tomorrow morning! We missed them so much, but are so excited for the arrival of our newest family member. We also missed my aunt and uncle and cousin from Anson due to work conflicts.
I'm so blessed to have such a loving supportive family. We love spending time together and they are so good to my boys. My boys are lucky to have such love from 2 families just like I did growing up.
This was the first live Armadillo I had seen up close and personal. (right behind our house)

Christmas 2011 Round 1
This Christmas was so good! We had a great time with family and friends! We started the break by celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary, hanging out with friends and finishing up Christmas shopping. On the 23rd, we headed up to Hale Center for Christmas weekend. We woke up Saturday morning to 2" of snow on the ground and it continued to fall all day and into Christmas morning. We got 7-8" of snow in Hale Center and had a good time playing in it! It was Braden's first time to play in the snow.
Christmas morning, we woke up to big Santa gifts for the kids. Kagen and Braden got a gator and Payten got a Barbie Princess Castle. They were all spoiled by many other presents from Zach's family. Despite the snow, we headed to The Unity Center (between Lockney and Floydada) to spend Christmas with Zach's mom's family. We jumped in a bounce house, rode scooters, rode bikes, rode gators, ate a wonderful lunch, and did Chinese Christmas.
Monday morning, we headed to Lubbock for lunch with Zach's other grandparents, then finally back to Stamford.

Kagen went crazy with the red icing.

Lilly used a lot of green sprinkles.

"This is kind of fun!"
Snowball fight
Braden with Aunt Cammy

Wheel Barrel races
Kagen won every time! Payten couldn't ever make it all the way across the room without falling.
looks like we left shoes for Santa instead of cookies
We are just a little bit spoiled.
Santa came!
"Can we go see what's in there?"
Ready to go see what Santa brought
Whoohoo!
Checking out their stockings
Kagen excited about getting a video in his stocking that he asked Santa for
Payten got her Barbie Princess Castle from Santa
Cute family gift from Zane and Cammy (movie, game, drinks, snacks, popcorn bowls)
On Christmas morning, Braden kept throwing a fit to be the driver. He has since found a comfy place in the passenger seat! The boys rode in it for an hour straight here at home today.
The boys loaded their other gifts up in the back! You can see Braden still fighting to drive.
Mammie and Pops gave Kagen a new bike! He got his first scooter from Connie, but I didn't get any pictures of him on it.
Payten got a gator, too! (hers is the same thing with a different look)
Beautiful Christmas Morning!
The gator has done great on grass, gravel, concrete, and carpet. As you can see, it didn't run well in the snow.
Kagen on his new bike and Sydni driving Braden in the gator
Payten driving her new gator in her new shirt and bow we gave her
Braden rode around like this all day. He loved it and only fell out once. We have since installed a seat belt for him, so he just rides and rides with his big brother.
My happy boys!
Kagen loaded a scooter up in the back, then pulled up to watch a few minutes of a movie with the girls.
Great Papa with Kagen and Braden
Kagen and Daddy share Christmas lunch
Uncle Zane felt sorry for Braden, so he got on a scooter (as a side car) and held down the gator pedal with his hand and let Braden steer.
Kagen wanted Zane to stay in the side car while he drove. I didn't get a picture of Braden later when he was standing in the back only holding on with one hand. He looked like a high school boy in the back of a truck. This momma took off running to save him rather than getting the pic.
Some of the big cousins racing
Braden, Kagen, Sydni, Taryn, and Rhealee (Payten and Rayden, not pictured)
Braden was able to ride the scooters just as good as the big kids!
Great Papa was able to put him to sleep
