So it is almost done..

I have been just a bit busy lately (yes i am always busy it seems) and have gotten almost everything moved into the shop or into storage for now. Anyway he should be done with everything by Tuesday and maybe Wednesday I will paint and be ready to move in after that. For now I will be "camping out" inside the shop and just "roughing it". I am going to paint my bedroom and bath a deep indigo blue since I sleep during the day just to make it a bit darker plus blue seems to relax me.

I will be without internet for a while (other than when I goof off at work and get online but if anyone wants to email me it is brad6925@yahoo.com and I will most likely check it every day either at work or at my parents house until I can get the interweb going out there. I never realized how bad contractors are to deal with and I have personally known all of these guys for many years. I will get into that more after I get moved in but lets just say contractors are a crooked bunch for the most part lol

I have been making it by a lot of your blogs but not commenting from work. I will try to hurry back and get back to blogging more in the very near future

Update and Quake on Town Lake

Ok things are good with my plumbing.....well my shop plumbing.....and mine....I should restart this but I won't haha. I am hoping to have the plumber in Monday morning sometime to sweat the pipes and get it ready for Steven to finish his work. I am also hoping to get the electrician in Monday or Tuesday and get that part finished up. I SHOULD be moving in later in the week next week. I have taken a week of vacation in order to get focused on this and get it done. Hard to get much done when working 12 hours a day at the job and still trying to get stuff done on the shop. Lets just say Brad is a bit worn down.

I am looking forward to a visit from my Okie Angel , Ms Christie, tomorrow. Her uncle is not doing well and thats the only thing that might keep her from making it down she said. The weather will be a bit brisk in the morning (in the upper 30s tonight they say) but we plan to head down to Mt. Pleasant and Town Lake is our destination there. They are having drag boat races this weekend and Town Lake is very small and surrounded by hills so it offers some very smooth "fast" water for the drag boats. Some of these boats will reach 100-120 mph in 1/4 mile!! Should be an excellent event and if you will say a prayer for her and her family as they deal with the declining health of her uncle.

Any of you country music fans should stop by Breazy's cause she just got back from what I am sure was an awesome concert. Now if she just had some more zoom on the camera phone haha.

I am officially on vacation until NEXT sunday the 22nd.....just going to relax (those who know me know that this is a lie) and maybe even head out of town......was thinking maybe getting into sw Arkansas for a mountain hike possibly sometime during the week..........if I can get stuff finished on my shop of course.

Having a minor setback on my building plans.....waiting on a plumber and hoping I don't have to work out something with the builder on some shoddy work as far as plumbing inside the slab goes. Keep your digits crossed please :)

Not much going on today. I have not been feeling too well last few days.....almost a dry burning sensation in my lungs and chapped lips from breathing through my mouth so much. Hopefully whatever it is will pass soon enough. A good friend of mine is doing my framing for me in my shop and he has a bit of it framed already. Have a guy coming out around 8 am in the morning to sweat the copper pipes and install cutoffs on them and maybe go ahead and set up my electircal box and permanant power pole. Me and another friend from work will be doing the wiring sometime this week also. I am HOPING that by weeks end it will almost be move in ready......crossing all fingers and some toes lol

Headed shortly to buy some of the electrical stuff for my shop/apartment. Yes folks, a friend and myself are planning on doing the wiring ourselves. Have we ever wired a building....well no but how hard can it be right? Ok I admit I wish I had the patience (and the ability) to do all of it myself .....wish me luck on the electrical...and yes the friend does have SOME knowledge of electricity....or he says he does.

Seems like forever since I have blogged. Had a very nice dinner date with an old friend from school last Friday evening. Met Ms Melanie at her house and headed to Mckinney (near Dallas) for a nice dinner at my FAVORITE out of town restaurant. Nice steakhouse called Saltgrass ......if you ever have a chance give one of these a try. Anyway we get parked (a long ways from the front door...remember this as it comes into play later.)and head on in to wait 30 minutes or so for a table. We place our order and continue reliving the past and talking about the present and even a bit of the future.....very nice conversation. Food arrives and it is AMAZING....I love steak and shrimp and I also had a huge baked potato and steamed green beans....Talk about STUFFED. Pay the tab and head out.....it is starting to rain more so Brad, beng the gentleman he is, offers to go fetch the car and meet her at the front door. Get her keys and head out....the rain picks up even more.....where the heck is the car? I hit the panic button button hoping to find it that way...no luck. By this time the bottom has dropped out and I am completely soaking wet.....still no car so reluctantly I head back inside...now I knew better.....I really did. I , in my haste to reach the sanctity of the building decided to cut across this grassy knoll instead of staying on the concrete.....this grass HAD to be slicker than ice cause i hit the ground faster than Dr Phil can get on ones nerves. (just kidding all you Phil fans) I slammed into the ground quite hard on my shoulder....yes the same shoulder attached to the arm I had torn tendons in last year. I popped right back up and continued on my way with no pain to speak of......yet. Anyway to make a long story short, the car was parked in a different place than I was looking....in our haste to get inside before the mist got heavier, i neglected to recall how many corners of the building we went around to get to the entrance....i was half a parking lot away from the car the whole time but in driving rain and lightning popping all around its easy to get confused.

Anyway trip home.....well first off I am soaking wet and soaking her car seats thoroughly......then the pain starts creeping in. I am guessing I just jammed it or sprained it or something but my shoulder is just now getting back to where I can do my weightlifting again.....it was for sure a memorable night.

My shop is done...insulation was the last thing to be done and it was sprayed last wednesday. A guy who used to be one of my best friends is going to start framing on my living area on Saturday. Handyman is supposed to come out Monday and add some cutoffs on the pipes coming from the slab and sweat them in and hopefully the trench for the water line will be done monday also and I can assemble that and get it laid down and hooked up. Unless something happens I should be moving in about week and half.

I have started chatting with this very interesting lady from Dallas and even talking to her on the phone some......odd to me sometimes how trusting some women can be giving their phone numbers out so soon.....it shouldnt strike me as odd but sadly it does.....anyway.....this lady is into Middle Ages type stuff......she has some awesome pics of herself in period clothing and she told me just this morning she had been elected Baroness of her local "group" so she was quite happy about that. I am hoping to maybe get to take her to Scarborough Faire sometime in the next few weeks.....might look a bit out of place with my shorts and new balance shoes so maybe a tunic is in my future haha.
Thats about all I guess I feel like sharing right now....in one of those blank unfeeling moods right now.....
