Shock of the Day

Today, most of the electrical items are completed. Our oven is also fixed up and now the kitchen looks complete. Also Citygas had came to connect and turn on the gas.

The electrician is also here to connect the water heater fixed up by the plumber.

While he was connecting the wire, I stayed there and look. For very very long, I wonder how come the water pipe is running like MRT. I walked close up and then.....   :o  why did this happened!

How come the plumber fix the pipes in this way!!!!! I asked my electrician, and he took a look, and agreed with me that the plumber have connected it wrongly. We took a pic and sent to my contractor and the plumber will come down again to check. How can a plumber do such thing???? Either the plumber is colour blind or the building contractor paste the sticker or laid the pipe wrongly.

Minor Updates

Some minor updates since reno is almost completed. Nothing very special about our home except that we want to keep it simple.

The sliding glass door is readjusted to flush with the entrance wall and top track is cut to the correct length. Just nice.

I also managed to adjust the starter in the kitchen light so that the light won't create a shadow like previously.

And here comes the only Blum system in the whole house. Choose to use this as the door will be used most frequently. For durability purpose we decided on this.

Backside Spray

Today, we received something we bought few days ago from taobao. I had a hard time buying from taobao and got my wifey to translate and had a live chat with the seller.

Pretty good seller because his/her reply was prompt and clear. After we hit purchase, they received the order and amended the shipping cost to overseas shipping rates for us as discussed for us to make our payment. Very satisfied with their service.

Bidet spray. very good quality. Made of brass. You will hardly get this at such a good price from local store. Definitely still cheaper to get from taobao after shipping cost.

Let There Be Light!

Finally, we don't have to walk in darkness after 7 at our new place. The electrician had installed the lights for our kitchen, service yard, HS, corridors, and toilets.

Corridor to bedrooms and toilets light. Chosen by wifey and its cheaper than our toilet lights!

Corridor light in master bedroom fronting wardrobe. The most expensive light we got cos need to find something thin and long to avoid kana hit by the top cabinet door when opening.

Kitchen Light. We love it so much cos it looks so simple and sleek.

Got to adjust the starter inside. Can see it touching the cover.

Glass

Today when I visited our place in the afternoon, I was greeted by these 

Finally they started to install the sliding door and toilet screen doors. 
When they were installing the kitchen door, and drilling the guide to the floor, my heart skipped cos they cracked the edge of the tiles. Only a small bit can be visible after the guide is in placed but I still feel it is an eye sore. Messaged my contractor and told him to do something about it. 

One thing we find it weird is why the rail need to extend out so much beyond the length of the door after it is opened. We also informed the contractor that we wanted the door to slide and flush with the wall when opened. This is to get the full width opening of the kitchen and to avoid slamming onto the door accidentally.

More Carpentry!

CityGas done up the gas piping. so happy. now the cabinets can be installed.

The tool CityGas guy uses to bend the pipe. retrofitted onto a stool. nice!

Our study room bookshelves. I think the plywood front looks nicer than white. regretted changing it to white.

Can use! It comes with a SS grid for the sink base. Was wondering if the solid surface cut out might be too small to fit the grid into the sink.

Cabinets and more!

Kitchen cabinet base done

Toilet kerb done due to level difference. I would still prefer if there is no kerb though.

Created a hole for our HDMI and Ethernet cable to go thru to living room.
