Long Awaited Post… Finally

I have been busy since the last post here. I was busy moving my stuffs to my new house. I was busy doing my leisure stuffs too! I had gone for a few road trips, having small parties, and went trekking. Trekking with Linda and Dave was far most my best trip ever. It was amazing! The fresh air, the scenic views and adventure gave me another impression of Tasmania.

Photos! Photos!

More photos to come!

My Semester 2 Final Work

It is kind of messy because the schedule was tight. There are a lot of things to do and we are left with little time to do up a nice panel. So I had tried my best to make it presentable. Following photo is my final presentation layout panel. 3 portrait A0 panels. Click to enlarge.

Mixed Feelings

Yesterday was one of the happiest day while in tassie. Having no work to do and no submission to rush, me n my friends went shopping in the city. 没有功课的日子真悠闲. But something is missing which I felt quiet uncomfortable with. I constantly looking for things to do and wanting to hang around with my friends.

During the past 3 weeks, I have been constantly helping people doing model. After my own work is done, Dave and me went to help Linda with her model. Then after her submission, we helped Eileen with her model (year 4) and next, year 5 until Tuesday wee hours of the morning. The end of the study year and start of a enjoyable holiday. I slept so well that night.

On Monday, it was my first time to bake Japanese Cheesecake. It was kind of a failure. The cake was soft and half cooked. But nevertheless, it still tastes quite nice. We used it for Shao Cheng’s early birthday celebration since he is going back next week.

I tried to make another one at Dave’s house as Linda’s house oven is not hot enough for baking. I managed to make a half-success Japanese Cheesecake. It is firm and it taste almost just right. Except that the cake sinks. There are 2 reasons for it. I have over bitten the egg whites and over baked it. Hehe… this time I have used too high heat in the oven. Next month, I will try to make the perfect Cheesecake.

Finally all have ended

Finals is over. Everything went well. All the effort I put in paid out well. I am extremely satisfied with the comments by my tutors and lecturers. It had been a very good first year in UTAS and in about a month time I will be graduated with my first degree. All the best to my friends currently having exams.

Progress II

I am very exhausted. I think I have used up 75% of my energy and brain juice to complete the model and some of my draft plans and sections. Here it is the completed model taken few hours ago.

Busy Month

This month, it is work work and more work. I have no time to rest. I have to stop my Naruto chase for a while before my finale submission on the 23rd Oct.

Linda and myself was walking to the school’s library via the track just at the back of my house and we stopped to to take some snapshots of the white horse. It has been long since I last pat a horse few years back.

Birthday Surprise hasn’t end

I was greeted with birthday wishes this morning when I reached school. Friends from Singapore also message me with wishes. Sorry Fiona that I did not pick up your call. :P I was watching Naruto and my phone was in silent mode. Hehe.. Thank you all!

Reached home after lesson, and I guess it will mark the end of 24th. But suddenly, Linda came over and brought me a bowl of shou mian寿面 saying it was made by his household. Again, I was tricked. She told she is in school in MSN and then minutes later, she appears at my door. Then, it doesn’t end there. Later, I found out that the noodle was made by Airene. Man, I was so paiseh. Hehe… Thanks Airene for the noodle! It taste great! I think it is my first time eating 寿面.

Birthday Surprise

Last night, my friends celebrated my birthday. We cooked wanton, cabbage with scallops, curry chicken, meat balls, nuggets and lasagna. Oooo!! All my favorite dishes! Special thanks to Linda, Dave, Eileen, Tricia and Regina for putting up the delicious dishes. I was also caught off guard when they surprise me with a cheese cake. I did not expect a cake because they told me that they have forgotten to get one. I didn’t suspect anything even when they switched off the room lights. Guess I am too engrossed with my Naruto anime on my laptop :P

Opps… looks like I am getting fatter.

Lost in Translation - The Juxtapose of Theory, Design and Technology - Directed by 许育才

Earlier this afternoon, one of my friends asked me. What is it about my nick “Lost in Translation - The Juxtapose of Theory, Design and Technology - Directed by 许育才”. Is it a new book I am writing? Nope it is not.

This week, I have been juggling around with my History and Theory, Design Studio and Building Technology Design units. There are simply so much things to do and this Tuesday and Wednesday, I need to come out with something to discuss. I am still stuck in my essay. Words are flying in my head but it can’t seem to get into the computer. I simply stare blankly for minutes or hours just to think of a few paragraphs.

Frustrated, I went to get something to eat, to munch, and took out a Ruby Grapefruit I bought 2 days ago to eat. The skin is thick, like the thickness of my skull. Information just seems to be stuck within and resist coming out.

Go back to work I must. I cannot be so slack anymore.

A Moment of Sadness and Joy

Sick and tired of work. I should not feel that way. There always comes laughter of joy. My friends cheered me up a lot, even though they did not know that I am so stress up with my work. I continued to converse with them and joined in the fun which makes my worries goes. I hate to get worried or depressed as it really affects my work quality. I rather put worries aside and join the bright side. Always hanging with the problems is not what I am. They are full of spikes which will always disturb me making me terrible. I should pluck them all out, tackle those problem and leave no regrets when i know i put the best in my work.

Good luck to my upcoming submissions… anyway, good night to everyone. Hope tomorrow is a better day.

Back in Action

It has been long since I updated my life story. Yesterday, a group of the year 3 and 4 had a potluck dinner in the School of Architecture building. It was also part of the farewell dinner for April who is leaving for Singapore tomorrow. I made Chee Cheong Fun, but it was quite a failure last night because I did not get the correct wrong mixture which is the perfect proportion I made on Friday night. It turned out to be too soft. Luckily, I did not eat the nicely done Chee Cheong Fun, if not, I will have nothing to bring over.

We had a game of mahjong, and also there are 2 tables playing poker and UNO each. Suddenly, the School of Architecture 3rd year studio becomes a gambling den, without money involve. We were rebellious. Our homework not done, work left aside, and was playing till after midnight. But it was fun. It feels so good to stay away from our work once in a while.

I watched the Singapore National Day 2007 on youtube in school yesterday. And to my surprise, and also proud of, my cousin-in-law was the Parade Sergeant Major of this year’s NDP. Watching the parade marches into the stage, it reminded me of the good old times when I was in the army. Sometimes, it is not a bad idea to stay in the army. I am still proud of going through the tough training during my Officership course which thought me a great deal of leadership.

Back from Hobart Site Visit

It was a very tiring trip down to Hobart for our semester 2 site visit. But it is very interesting and interactive in the way Helen had organized us for our group discussion. I learnt a lot of issues from different perspective. Then, we came out with different proposition and possibility from our analysis to our site. I am lucky that this semester I have a good team to work with.

Yesterday, the last day, my usual friends and I decided to walk through the underground drainage to the other end. There was a portion where a dam was created across forcing us to walk along a narrow curb at the side. There is a pipe protruding out of the wall at my forehead height. The first cross, I managed to duck to avoid it. But during the return trip, I was walking so fast and didn’t duck low enough, my head hit it hard. It was so painful! Till now, I can still feel the pain when I bend down or pull my facial skin backwards.

There are lots of thing happened during the trip. We got a $50 summon over unauthorized parking in a permit holder lot carpark. 2nd, our lodge, the Couch House, got a blackout while we are preparing dinner. We got a refund for one night and free stay in 2 other smaller units for that night, but minutes after we moved, the electricity came back.

It was lucky that we did not lose anything. The refund get us each back at least $6.40 back in our pockets.

Blackout

It was a bad night 3 days ago. I woke up in the middle of the night and went to the toilet. Then, I had a very uncomfortable feeling in my chest. The next time I notice, I was on the floor beside the toilet bowl. I had a blackout. My nose had a small cut and there is bruises and a jelly bean size scratch below my lips. It bleeds. What a night. I do not know how long I laid there.

I had a great time at Cradle Mountain last Friday and I will like to go back one more time during summer. Also, we visited the Tasmazia and the Village of Lower Crackpot. It’s the best maze I ever went and it is huge!

Finally he tried to contact me on my Singapore Woodlands home and called for my youngest sister and asked about me. I can’t believe he still has my MSN address. He is really some true friend who still keeps my home number and MSN address.
