Top 10 Pics

On a whim, I decided I REALLY needed to post something on the blog. So, since it's late on the weekend and my brain isn't feeling extra literary or witty at the moment, I'm gonna try to catch up for my 6 months of blogger neglect with 10 photos. Here we go...

#10 - Ward Field Day, April 2012

Do you see me? I'm wearing green and black. The one wearing green and black...in the lead. Oh yeah, this was the 3-legged race and my bestie, Teddy, and I totally smoked our competition!

#9 - 6-year Anniversary! June 9, 2012

J man and I spent the evening in Old Town Cottonwood eating at the Tavern and then cruising the streets for amusement.

#8 - Family Visits, June and July 2012

This summer was a pretty eventful one for family visits. Carly and Alison and their kids visited in June, as well as Dad, Julie, and Flint. Then, Mom and Denny and Luke visited in July. The family time was great, and it would have been even more great if 1) my house was bigger than 700 square feet, 2) the temperature had been in the two digits instead of three digits, and 3) I wasn't at my peak of morning sickness!

#7 - Hula Performance in Taylor, AZ, July 2012

As a favor to my grandpa, last November I agreed to perform for an over 30 LDS Singles conference in Taylor. Little did I know that when the time came to perform: a) I would STILL be prego sicko and b) most of my dancers would be at our Stake Youth Conference. But regardless, I still had an awesome time with the 2 ladies I rounded up...2 of my YW who very recently turned 18 and thus were exempt from Youth Conference. To top off the event, I got a $250 speeding ticket in Winslow....last time I drive through that town BTW.

#6 - 1st Official Pregnancy Photo, August 2012

After months of puking my brains out, I decided it was time to put on a little make-up, do my hair, and take some scrapbook worthy photos of my bump. Here I am at 5 months.

#5 - Last Day as YW President, August, 2012

Here's some of the gals during my last mutual night as YW Pres. It was a bittersweet night. But it definitely did not lack sugar. I brought samples of chocolate chip Amish friendship bread which I then gave all the girls their own starter packets. We then joined the Young Men for a Farewell party for one of the YM going on a mission which included a GIGANTIC cake (provided by one of the YW) and root beer floats (provided by the YM...of course).

#4 - Ferrara Family Visit to the White Mountains, September, 2012

In August, I went up to Springerville to work in a temporary promotional position. During Labor Day weekend my hubby's mom, aunt, and grandma came to visit me. It was a great girls weekend. We ate lots of good food, watched movies, and took an awesome scenic drive in "my" mountains.

#3 - J Man Visit to the White Mountains, November, 2012

During the last week of my detail in Springerville, the J Man came to visit and help me move all my stuff back to Camp Verde. On one of the days, we took a rather nostalgic drive to all the places we used to go when we dated - Big Lake, Sheep's Crossing, and Government Springs. Oh, how I miss the White Mountains!

#2 - Ragan Baby Shower, November, 2012

Instead of posting traditional baby shower pictures of the bump or presents, I thought it more representative to post a picture of the only thing I specifically requested at my baby shower - GOOD FOOD! And, there was plenty! My friends, Teddy, Andrea, and Mona, were so wonderful to prepare everything for this special event. All I had to do was show up and eat. Oh yeah, and open lots and lots and lots of presents. It was a truly joyous party.

#1 - Thanksgiving at the Beach, November, 2012

Since the J Man and I haven't had a proper vacation together for a VERY long time, we decided to ditch everybody for Thanksgiving and live it up in the California sun for a week. All I can say is it was fab.

THE END...for now.

Next CELEBRITY CORNER Victim

When I did my daily read of the Yahoo news stories today, I saw this picture of the Beckhams, a.k.a. Britain's other royal family, and I knew I had my next CELEBRITY CORNER victim.

Check out the picture....

Camp Verde peeps, do you see a resemblance?

Think dark-haired, petite beauty. Lots of style. Several good looking kids...Uhhh, but minus the wrist tattoo.

Got it now?

Yeah, I totally thought of my friend.....the one and only Angie.

What do you think? Are they a match?

Giving this matter some additional thought, I can come up with several ways in which these two ladies are alike.

  1. Both have a wicked sense of style. True, Vicky is a tad on the avant garde/often scantily clad side; while A-girl keeps it very classic chic and modest. But, they are both the epitome of sophistication. In a one syllable word, POSH.
  2. Both are known for being awesome mummies...or, translated in American English, mommies.
  3. Although they display different genres, both are vocally talented. Mrs. B with her pop beats and Mrs. P with her classical melodies. I would wager, however, that both can sing a wicked Broadway (British translation: Musical Theatre) tune.
  4. Both are often associated with their also famous (and beautiful) gal pals. Posh Spice has her other Spice Girls. And Posh American has her lovely sisters (Angie, could we take it one step further and say each of your sibs = a certain Spice Girl? I'd love to hear who might be who!!)
  5. Both have husbands that simply adore them. And why wouldn't they?
Here's more visual proof that I hit this nail on the head.

Dark eyes. Chic, short do. Hint of mischief. Yep, there's a resemblance!

The "look surprised for the paparazzi" look.

Keeping it posh real with a pair of ultra cool shades.

Well folks, that ends another edition of CELEBRITY CORNER. Hopefully, it proved entertaining....especially to its victim. It's good to be back blogging...and maintaining my own celebrity status. Until next time, YoAdriane out!

Postscript: Victoria Beckham almost NEVER smiles! Ever notice that? To be completely honest, I found that 99% of her photos either channel the "pursed lips/emaciated cheeks/somber runway look" or the "tilted head/move a lock of hair/practiced inquisitive look." This fact made my Google search for resemblance pictures rather difficult because her American twin almost ALWAYS smiles...Perhaps this is a sign one of them is happier than the other? Hmmmm, there probably is a point where trying to be stylish and posh 24/7 takes a toll on your ability to enjoy life's simple joys. On that note, I give credit to my friend A-girl since family and faith come first for her....and posh-ness just comes naturally.

Do you read me?

I hate writing on my blog after a REALLY long void. It's like trying to say something to a friend you haven't seen since college....I feel guilty for staying out of touch and completely clueless about what to say.

But here I am. Writing again. Isn't it fabulous?!

At this point, I'm wondering if anyone even reads my silly blog anymore. Do YOU read me? If YOU do, please WRITE A COMMENT and help validate my blog's existence.

I'm really not feeling witty at the moment. Or particularly funny. Or remotely friendly. So, please don't expect too much from this post. The point is I am re-connecting (I think) with my blog and my blog's supporters. I do promise, however, that there will be more in store on this blog if you stay tuned...more CELEBRITY CORNERS, more TOP 10 lists, and even some good 'ole YoAdriane cynical humor.

So ta-ta for now and talk to you soon.

One of the better recent photos of moi.
It's proof that I haven't dropped off the planet...or forgotten to wear make-up and style my bangs for a close-up.
