Happy 2009!

It's already 2009! I haven't even get myself used to writing 08 on the date. Life is like that. When you haven't got hold of that something, that something has already left you. So appreciate everything in your life right now, right here.

I didnt go count down for new year. I'm actually quite pleased that I didn't go anywhere crowded and sticky. Coz last night I spent the time with my little cousin sister in her air-cond room discussing about Korean language we learned ourselves. lol....on her cozy bed. Then, I fell alseep before the clock struck twelve! lol. Luckily Zhuang came back from mamak and woke me up at 11.40pm so that we could count down together in the cozy room. And she brought back roti canai! Yum! I stepped into 2009 with roti canai and dal sauce on my fingers. lol.

Then the environment got crazier when we decided to record the Negaraku translated into Chinese version by me. =P The first few attempts were failures coz me and Mei couldn't help laughing in the middle. Luckily in the end we recorded a pretty decent Chinese version Negaraku. And then we sang the "hahaha" song we saw from TVXQ, too. See below for the hahaha song from TVXQ. lol. It's pretty funny.

Today I bought another 2 books from MPH in Midvalley. Keke. Neldon Mandela's Journey to the Freedom and Paulo Coelho's Alchemist. Both books were in my buying list for very long already. MPH is having a 3 for 2 promotion. Another book is for Audrey, the Remember Me by Sophie Kinsella. Haha. I've got so many books to read. Wait till I finish watching the Iljimae then I will start reading them.

Oh! I can't wait to go home watch Iljimae already. After eating birthday cake with Zhuang then I will rush back and watch till I cannot stand the sleepiness. =P Oh, by the way, I'm blogging from Zhuang's home.

A post from home

I'm home!

Had a lot of nice soups to drink, unlimited food, unlimited desserts! And a lot of nap. Ahhh....This is trully a relaxing vacation. =P

Get many dramas from my dad. Korean, China, Hong Kong TVB, and lots of movies. Hehe. Dad told me if I watch 2 hours per day, I will need 2 years to finish watching these movies and dramas. lol. That's really a lot!

2009 is coming. What is your new year resolution? I'm going to list down mine soon. =)

Wrap up for 2008

I know this is too early. But I may not have time to blog when I'm at home. I wanna make full use of the time spending with my family.

Yes! I'm going home!! The last time I went back hometown was 7 months ago. The more I think of going home, the more I feel homesick! =D

Alright. I should be wrapping up 2008. First times in 2008:

1. Got my life saving certificate and medal
2. Learned CPR and first aid (but forgot the first aid bandaging already. Hehe)
3. Swim 1km non-stop in my life
4. Had my first 10km run
5. Visit to orphanage
6. Learned and tried debriefing (although I did so-so only, but I love the idea of debriefing!)
7. Camping on mountain top (freezing cold!)
8. Being dumped...
9. Car accidents (summore 3 times in a month)
10. Kayaking
11. Buy clothes from internet (actually tried once and that one singlet only)
12. Give tuition
13. Give pocket money to parents every month even when I'm damn bankrupt already
14. Started paying study loan
15. Working in an industrial based company (had some 'culture' shock when I first started)
16. Staying in a double-storey house... with a lawn! =P (My aunt's house's not counted)

And during this year, I just realized I miss my family so sooo much. And miss my grandma and her dog Pinky, my home and my hometown itself! Because this is the first time I left home for so long.

This year... some friends left, some new friends came; some friendships were strengthened, some were revived, some were slowly losing their grips; Some get to understand more, some get to misunderstand more.

But I only feel one thing inside.

Lonesome.

Even when I'm surrounded by cheerful people, supportive people and sometimes even family. I feel something empty. Inside.

Is it because some hope within was broken? Broken by a hopeless relationship?

I dunno.

This... is 2008.

I await a more cheerful and lively 2009. Lively not by the quantity of the cheerful activities, but by how things or people can enlighten my heart.

Pieces of nothing

Formatted my PC. Antivirus keeps popping out boxes saying virus is detected but it could not remove the virus. That's why I'm lazy to on my PC for 2 days.

Reading a Taiwan Novel about friendship. It makes me appreciate the time with the girls more.

Still cannot accept the fact that my supervisor is leaving the company, leaving me. Maybe it is time to be independent.

Forehead a bit warm. Maybe eaten too much heaty stuff.

Very anticipated to go orphanage later.

Singing along with Eason Chan's MV "浮誇" on Youtube just because I could not pronounce the Cantonese in the karaoke with colleague yesterday.

I love the way he sing 浮誇. The emotion. And the song feels like "I write sins not tragedies" by Panic at the Disco. But Eason's 浮誇 is more explosive. =D

Love the moment spent with the girls last night at my house. It gave me the exact feeling from the friendship in "Sex and the City". I hope, like those ladies in Sex and the City, we can even bring our kids to our gathering in the future. =)

Just some pieces of me here and there. To share with all of you. =)

Results are out!

Yeay! The 10km run results are out!

Okla. I'm quite satisfied with this. I consider it a good start and the results make me feel like going to another run to see whether I can improve the timing. To compete with myself.

---------------

Went to Raleigh monthly meeting on Saturday. This time was a picnic at Waterfall Pisang. We were lucky it was a sunny day. =)

I like this photo (taken by Hock Soon). Very energetic and almost all of us left the ground. We were in a huge longkang on the way trekking towards the waterfall. We tried several jumps before we get this picture. lol. But too bad my face was blocked by GP's hand. Kena slapped. haha.

Updates:
Pictures taken from Hock Soon and Shih Chung, our Mr President.

With GP at the drain

When we reached the waterfall we found that there were quite a lot of people doing abseiling on the waterfall rocks.

We didn't abseil. But we got to do waterfall massage. Hehe.

Photo taken with Mr President

I particularly like this picture. Very natural. I was too focused on the massage and didn't notice I was snapped.

Group photo taken at the waterfall. Nice photography effect. Luckily this picture brightness was good, not too over-exposed.

Blocking the water in the drain with our butts. The water level went a foot high! That's the power of teamwork. =P And the water went gushing downstream when we stood up.

Great voices

Just realized I haven't compile the singers I like in my blog.

My favourite voices are:
1. JJ (林俊杰)
2. Eason Chan (陈奕迅)
3. Stephanie Sun (孙燕姿)

I always think JJ has very nice voice. And he's a good composer too.

Have a look at JJ singing live here. I tried to look for short and nice clip so you all no need to wait until the middle only can listen to him sing.

Very very heavenly voice!

Another male Chinese singer I like is Eason Chan. But I can only find this prize giving award which has better microphone sound quality.

Then for female Chinese singer, I think Stephanie is brilliant!

(Can't find her live A cappella clips)

Hehe. I think not enough. I put one more concert live clip of her

Randoms

Just met mum yesterday! =) Brought her to Pavilion and treated her lunch and tea. Only two of us for the first time. I love the time we hang out together. Feel really really warm in my heart. =) Hope I can do the same thing with my dad one day. Hehe.

Oh and yesterday went repair my car because the car was really noisy when I drive up to only 30-40km/hr. It was the gear box. It sounded like a truck! lol. Plus the brake pads were also exhausting due to lousy quality of local vehicles. They had solidified and powdered already. The repair costs me more than a thousand ringgit. I'm officially broke now. Again.

--------------

Was looking for Korean drama. Then I found Iljimae which was filmed in 2007 and released this year. Still looking for place to download. Hopefully can get the drama. The main character in this drama is filmed by Lee Jun Ki who acts as a Robinhood at night but a naughty guy in the day time. I think it is going to be funny and sad in this drama.

-------------

With so many public holidays drawing near. I'm currently under holiday mood. =P I miss those school times when I can have months of holiday. Holiday is a luxury for me now. Sigh. Grown up life is so so so different. How I hope I can go back to childhood time. lol.

-------------

Oh gosh. I keep running to toilet today! It's something I ate yesterday or the day before. I remember I started having stomach cramp and feel like diarrhea since yesterday morning right after I woke up. Add up together with yesterday I ran to toilet for almost 10 times already. Sigh. Need some 保济丸 if you know what it is.

My first quarter marathon experience

Just came back from Singapore, and Singapore Marathon.

I started my first quarter marathon in my life with 10km women category. Finished at around 1 hour 29 minutes. But according to those who went to last year's marathon they will start count only after I pass the starting line. I was way behind in the long queue before the starting line. So it will be lesser. Hehe. Convincing myself now. Never mind, I will get the record from them soon.

The night before the marathon, I felt my heart beating really fast and my head kept thinking of excuses to not turning up in the marathon. But the nervous feeling disappear right after I passed the starting line the next day. I ran until 5km and felt my legs wobbly. Actually it's all mental. I was doing well before this. Non-stop running. But when I saw the signboard showing 5km (it was the first signboard that stated how far we had gone), I thought to myself "What? Another 5km?". And then my foot instantly went wobbly. lol.

So from then on I started to do the interchange of walking and running. Hehe. Thanks to the organizer and sponsors, they had many drink stations which provide mineral water and 100 plus every 1km or so. It was actually the signboards stating "drink station ahead" which gave me the motivation to fasten my pace and keep running. Haha. And thanks to those first aid stations which unlimitedly provide muscle pain relief cream. I think those drinks and creams are helping in terms of mentality. Coz I felt refreshed after having them. And thanks to Zhuang's Agel energy boost which I brought along.

And some spectators who kept giving firm support with really strong and loud voice really helped. I think "Keep running! You can do it!" is really a great line. Two white men (one was a photographer and another was a passerby) only repeatedly shouting this firmly could already lifted up my spirit. And "You're reaching 5km" dampened my spirit a lot coz it made me calculate the distance and the muscle pain I had to endure before I reach the finishing line.

50 meters before the finishing line, the MC was really supportive and kept pumping up everyone's spirit. I guess it was the motivation from the MC, I gathered up my energy and sped towards the line. What scared me was that right after the line when I started walking slowly I felt like my lungs were collapsing! OMG! Maybe I should not speed 50m before the finishing line? Luckily the pain in the chest slowly disappeared.

I really enjoyed the marathon. The triumph when you finally manage to reach the finishing line is so so so much different from seeing an "A" in your exam paper. It's pretty similar to the triumph feeling I had when I reach the top of Gunung Irau eight months ago. But the crowd and the noise in Irau was not as bombastic. Marathon was like a party. Hehe. ^^

Regardless of the medal and certificate, I also get to know new friends (e.g. Ken, Charles and Michelle), meet up some Monash friends who were also joining the marathon and met some representatives from Monash Australia. The time was too packed to meet up with my hometown friends though. Plus my international roaming for Maxis was not set up (I din know have to set up one. lol.), totally cannot contact everyone when I was in Singapore. lol.

Update: Pictures below! (Taken from Shiang and New's facebook)

Before starting

The crowd was running towards the finishing line

Me, Shiang, Suk Jiun and a guy whom I dun remember his name.

 Kokum and I

Care more. Love more.

I'm packing up for the Singapore marathon on Sunday. Actually I'm yet to start packing up. lol. I'm planning to pack up.

I'm having a lot of thoughts right now and start evaluating myself.

Just now went out with CY and New and found that CY has very very good debriefing and motivating skills, which I lack. So now I'm evaluating my own motivating skills. I think I have zero. lol.

And when I came back and met Heng online, he asked me "Do you think you're a caring person?" I answered pretty fast. No. I'm not caring. Not even to my family members. I know it's really bad. But even though I really love them, I feel very awkward showing care to them. Sigh. I think I should start learning now to care for people and to console people. Coz I duwan myself to have a personality I dun like. Wish me luck for this. And for the marathon too. Gosh. I'm yet to pack! And it's almost 11pm now! And I'm going to meet the Monash folks tomorrow at 6 something in the morning. Gotta go pack already.

See you!

Chinese fries

When I craved for Mc Donald French fries last night, I bought this instead when I passed by the stall.

I bought these Chinese fries! -- 'ham chin beng' and 'yaw char kuai'. They only costed me RM1.20! Hehe. Way cheaper than a packet of fries. I love the sweet taste of this kind of 'yaw char kuai'. This is not the normal one. This kind is slightly sweeter than the normal one. And 'ham chin beng' is my favourite! Coz I like the red bean paste inside! Yumm!! And the sesame seeds make them even more tasty! Hehe.

------------------

Zhuang said I should write more often. Hehe. Paiseh. I run out of idea most of the time. Coz recently I didnt do much things...

Oh ya! I did do something last weekend actually. I went out with Chee Hui! She came to work in PJ just a month ago and I had been waiting for her to call me to hang out together. Coz from her blog I know she's too obsessed with her TVB dramas. Hehe. So didn't want to kacau her. CH came to stay over last weekend and we had a lot to chat!

I counted back the years we've known each other and found that we've known each other for more than 10 years already! If I only count from the year when we started talking to each other, it was way back in 1997. It has been 11 years! And if I count from the year when we were in the same class, that will be around 14 years! We managed to keep in touch again after a few years of out of touch after the graduation from high school. I really treasure that. =)

It was her novels that kept us in contact. She posts her very original and interesting stories on her blog and I always had to follow them coz they are very well plotted. Coz I like those weird weird stories involving past life, mysteries, investigation. I believe one day she will become a famous novelist in Asia. I'll be the first to buy her book if she publishes her stories. If you all are interested with her stories, this is her blog. I'm consciously promoting her blog. Kaka. Coz I think the stories are really good!
