today's clinical trials lecture was fun...

so there was this introductory lecture by a female prof. i think she's from medicine or pharmacy. can see she's trying to mingle with the youngsters and treat it not as a lecture theater but more of a teaching class. in other words, she's teaching with the passion of teaching rather than going through lecture notes so that she can throw exam questions at us.

she went through the lecture class on an individual basis, asking everyone their field of research for their FYP. There's a few interesting answers..like how a guy didnt really bid for this hot module (the points needed was high and alot of appeals were made) but went through the backdoor of another coordinator to secure the module (OH..the DARK side....) and also how some people are doing more unique work outside our concentration of BMS (such as animal conservation which caught the prof by surprise and algae work).

then my lab mate tried to make a joke saying his field is in Japanese studies. It was meant to be a joke, but it caught the LT off guard and everyone was kinda slow in catching in. Was a funny but awkward moment..

and the prof made us come up with a CLASS REP. at university/tertiary level..and out of 100+++ ppl, we're to come up with a class rep. Quite secondary sch i felt. In the end, a guy (ahem..all too ready to be a teacher's pet kinda guy) was sabo-ed and he accepted it. Reminds me of Mr J back then in NP.

yup..was a different lecture where the prof tries to interact on a more personal basis with us. it turned out to be more entertaining than interactive though..haha

oh well..got to start focusing on my FYP..

so i saw a sign on my office comp that day..tat says "reserved for lim han wern".

turned out...yes..it was saiyuri (correct spelling?) alright. haha..he's the new masters student at my level!!

so i "retook" my driving test today...

was over at her house....and the time came to dinner time. was deciding what/where to eat..and after tat, her dad asked the question "so who drive?". in other words, her dad was throwing the hint that i drive.

personally, i dont really like to drive other ppl's car..for the fact that accidents might happen and if it does, things gets complicated. but in that special case...jiu it became like no choice...hahaha =x couldnt push it away with the reason that i "very long never drive le".

and so..there i was..receiving instructions on an auto car, which i have only drove twice in my entire driving career. once was the compulsory auto-car driving lesson..and the other was in duane's car where i had to suddenly take over cos he threw me the driver's seat while he went to do an errand.

it was extremely stressful..for the fact that her father was there...and that it wasnt my car...and tat i think my driving skills are being observed. hahaha. luckily for me, i know the way to ikea very well...phew. so i went forth with the stressful journey...with a ride in the expressway, a U-turn and a parking at ikea's basement carpark (which has a very steeeeeep entrance. lucky its auto).

and there was that ride home too..which was less smooth on the whole. the accelerator and brakes wise, im just so not used to it! i ended up with a tired feet cos i was trying sooooooo hard to press the sensitive pedals.

haha..but well...i made it home safely. wonder if i left a proper impression.....

i got the emo feeling after coming home from alison's place...

really hate that feeling...it spoils my mood for everything..
