Busy Stitching!

I can't believe it has been nearly 3 weeks since I was last here!! What have I been doing you ask? Stitching, stitching and more stitching!!
During a very busy month at work I have been busy with my Stitch-a-long project - making sure my "homework" was done by the end of the month..... and I did finish my blocks on time.....

..... now to start on Part 2 for March!

I'm also a member of OPAM (One Project A Month) so thought I'd better get a project or 2 finished for February - alas the blocks above don't count as it has to be a whole finished quilt to "qualify" as a project for the month :( ..... but I did have a couple of things finished at the beginning of the month.....

......and last Sunday this.....
eventually became this......
Pattern - Anni Downs
... a kit bought in 2009!

So that's what I have been up to over the past weeks.... this weekend March blocks will be started and I'll see what other project I've got hidden away still to be finished!

A Productive Sunday

Here it is February and I have had a busy day finishing a couple of (small) projects!

I have finished a Gail Pan pattern from her lovely book " Patchwork Loves Embroidery"....
... the fabrics are from my stash and the thread is a Cottage Garden one called "Bush Christmas".... I think I will be keeping this one for myself :) .... I'm sure I'll find something to put in it...

Then another.....fabric basket. This is the 5th one I have made of these and I believe all the recipients are finding them very useful... this one is a gift for my sister....

...and stitching got underway for SAL 2015.....

Not much more stitching to be done tonight - off to watch the tennis... shame I haven't got any knitting to do - that can be done while watching TV!

Hope everyone has had a productive start to the month!

Catching Up

Just thought I'd check in before my holiday starts....

Caught my two "gingers" sleeping on the doona that was on it's way to be aired!

...they are nearly 10 years apart in age but get on "reasonably" well......

Meanwhile I decided to spend a part of the afternoon catching up with a favourite magazine and cuppa....

And...the hexies are still happening but tonight have decided to maybe do a little quilting on this before it gets made up into a bag - a pattern from Anni Downs which was bought in 2009.... it will be finished!

That's about it for this week.... will be back soon!

Till then "Happy Stitching"

Weekend Celebrations

Hope everyone at Chookyblue's birthday celebrations had a GREAT time - whether as a "virtual" guest (like me) or in real life .....plenty of champagne (or whatever you like to consume!) and plenty of creativity happening?

I could only be there today but have enjoyed my champagne and have actually finished something from start to finish - that alone is cause for celebrations if you knew the actual number of UFOs I have lurking..... in cupboards...wherever!!

This....

 Became this.......

And I finished off the day getting another "Christmas in July" swap ready to start.....

Well ......... I've had a productive day...... more champagne to go though - bottles not quite empty yet! May just have to have another glass as I check out what everyone else has been up to while celebrating The Chookshed's birthday......

Autumn and UFOs

Autumn - my favourite season has arrived!......Unfortunately living on the south coast we don't get the wonderful colours of Autumn everywhere as it doesn't get quite cold enough...but I have been stashing away fabrics to make an Autumn inspired quilt - one day!

At last I have cut out the fabric for a kit I bought in 2009 (!) from Anni Downs' very inspirational shop Hatched & Patched....as you can see the applique did get finished but that was as far as it got....now that I have joined OPAM I've been going through all my UFOs and it's time to finish this one!

And....Downton Abbey starts Sunday night - time to bring out the TV knitting - another UFO from last winter... a pair of sox. Have knitted these before but a family member has requested a 2nd pair......

Still doing some sewing with the costumes for our local theatre production of "Allo Allo" and some nights this coming week will be taken up at rehearsals but hope to get a little bit of time for "creative" sewing along the way....
