My Penang diary 11: Berlin's Bier Houz

Photobucket
Berlin's Bier Houz in Straits Quay.
Do you remember I introduce Straits Quay before?

Just a recap:
Straits Quay
Straits Quay is a beautiful vibrant place at day.

Straits Quay
At night, it turn to be a mysterious hang out place by the sea, where you can see people chilling, drink, strolling with the company of salty winds.
Photobucket
I would wanna sit out side the bar for a nice, windy sea breeze, but it was full. So, we have no choice but to sit in the bar. It was not too bad, but I still prefer the sea-side scenery.

Photobucket
Probably due to 2 major event in Penang on the earlier of the evening, Straits Quay was packed, so is Berlin Bier Houz.

Photobucket
We share the liquor. Since I am not very good alcohol resistance, so I ordered half pint of cider.
I am very sorry that I forgot the name, but I have to say that the apple cider taste sour sweet with a bitter after taste. Not really how I like my cider would be, but the taste is still very complimented.

Photobucket
As for the guys, they ordered half pint of Franziskaner Weissbier (also known as white beer or wheat beer)
It does not have so much of malt taste like your usual Carlsberg. Surprisingly, it has very smooth after taste which I love.

Photobucket
I was driving a lone from Kulim that night and I wouldn't want to risk my life by drinking too much, so I had some snack with the cider. I ordered meat balls. Very well marinated and chewy (tendons). Probably because I was hungry too ^__^

So, this post indicated my last post of My Penang diary at the moment. So far, I have no solid plan to go back Penang in the near future for career development, but for vacations, I think I can go back Penang once in a while since I really like this place a lot.

Next will be another historical city travel diary. Are you excited? Me too XD

Xi Bei Pai, The Melakan (Malaccan) Vegetarian Steamboat food review

If you are not my classmate, you probably don't know that I am a vegetarian back in Melaka. Althought I do lots of food review which more of 'em are non vegan food or some are even non halal.

Most of you that come to Melaka are for the food. Top of the list would be Satay celup. One of the famous satay celup located in Jalan Ong Kim.
Most of the time, we don't travel alone, but how if someone in our travel group is vegetarian? That would be some awkward~

However, finding a vegeterian shop in Melaka is not hard, even if are not a full time pure vegetarian, Malaccan(Melakan) have habits to dine in Vegetarian restaurant once in a while.

So, now I am introducing a new restaurant, probably not the best the Melaka but provide convenient vegetarian meal to tourist.

Ysquare Photoblog 22: I Missed Penang already~

Photobucket
This is one my my dinner I had in Penang Island when I was having my internship there 3 months ago. The Set consist of Dory fish, Mash potato, spaghetti and salad. If I am not mistaken, it was only RM6.90. Although the fish isn't awesome, but RM6.90! You could never get this set in spaghetti set in any other placecs!

Photobucket
Fry Chicken Nuggets. RM10 for 8 Chicken Nuggets chunks + Chili sause.
Wasn't too good as well, but I can never find such cheap but decent food around K.L or Melaka already.

Penang is emerging to be one of the high living standard town in Malaysia due to fast development. However, Penang still remains warm, hospitallity and humanity in their culture. If K.L don't want me after I grad, I think Penang is another very good starting point =)

My Penang Diary 6: Hard Rock Hotel

Penang Hard Rock Hotel
Do you think you can never see sky wide blue ocean in Malaysia's west coast especially in the busy cities?
Then you will never expect I took this photo during my Penang Island trip 2 months back.

Gong Cha, The Gardens Mall branch (review)

After leaving K.L for so long time, I am finally back to K.L again. From what I see in Twitter and FB, bubble milk tea or franchise drinks shops are trending in K.L. I am not a big fan of bubble milk tea and don't usually pick up any drink when I am doing my shopping so I didn't bother to try the famous Chatime (which literally appear in EVERY possible place that you can think of =.=).

But since Jackie is so attracted to Gong Cha and declare it is better than Chat-time, so I just give it a try.

My Penang Diary 4: Queensbay Mall

I have came to Kulim for my internship about 2 months already. Within this period, I have traveled to Penang quite often. May it be driving alone, hanging out with friends, or taking company shutter for a work related trip.
Despite much travelling, I have no chance to went into this enormous mall although I will pass by the mall every time I visit Penang.
Queensbay Mall
This reminds me a lot of Jusco Bandaraya Melaka, but of course Queensbay Mall is much larger

My Langkawi Island(Kedah,Malaysia) Diary 7: Seven Wells(Telaga Tujuh) Jungle Trails and waterfalls.

This will be my last post in My Langkawi Island(Kedah,Malaysia) Diary.

Other than beaches (bitches) and sun shine, the next thing you wouldn't wanna miss is the historical, legendary story of Lanagkawi. I wouldn't tell the romance/eerie/boring stories here. If you don't already know, you can check out Mahsuri at wikipedia.

My Langkawi Island(Kedah,Malaysia) Diary 6: Langgura Baron Resort (review)

Like I mention in my previous post My Langkawi Island(Kedah,Malaysia) Diary 3: Aseania Resort (Overview) and My Langkawi Island(Kedah,Malaysia) Diary 4: Aseania Resort (Facilities and scenery) , I stayed in Aseania resort on my 1st night.
On 2nd night, my colleagues decided to choose a cheaper resort, RM130 per night for quad-sharing room, so we all moved to here:

My Langkawi Island(Kedah,Malaysia) Diary 5: Pantai Tengah

Langkawi is an Island. How silly it is if you visited and island but do not visit it's beach or at least it's sea side?
Located walking distance from Aseania resort, the accommodation I overnight on the 1st night in Langakawi Island.

Pantai tengah
I wouldn't say Pantai Tengah is the best beach in Langkawi but it is comparably quite, just perfect for couple that need more privacy.

Intel Sponsor of Tomorrow Employee Expo

Last week, I was very honor, or I would prefer to say lucky to attend Intel Sponsor of Tomorrow Employee Expo in their Kulim(Malaysia) site. Maybe you would think an expo is nothing, but this expo is so exclusive that it is open to Intel's employees and immediate family members only. Need not to guess, I am 1 of them ^ ^
Photobucket
Upon entering the expo, a recycle bag is awarded as a door gift.
(was so keen to buy a cute shopping bay the other day when I went to  Queensbay Mall but were discouraged by their price. Now I can get 1 for free ^ ^)

My Langkawi Island(Kedah,Malaysia) Diary 4: Aseania Resort (Facilities and scenery)

After doing a review of Aseania on my previous blog post, My Langkawi Island(Kedah,Malaysia) Diary 3: Aseania Resort (Overview), there are actually more. Compare to most resort, yes, Aseania is slightly expensive, but it has it's value.

My Penang Diary 2: Paddington House of Pancakes, Queensbay Mall (review)

Was Down to Penang for shopping last weekend. The only mall that comes into my mind was Queensbay Mall.

When I am doing my shopping, I was also looking for a nice place to have early dinner. I don't like dinner jam  =(
When I first saw the word Paddington in 1 of the Penang blogger's blog I read beforehand, the cute Paddington bear hop into my mind <3
Photobucket
I don't think this restaurant have any connection with the sweet heart above, but Paddington House of Pancake (PHOP) is really a sweet heart too ^ ^

My Langkawi Island(Kedah,Malaysia) Diary 3: Aseania Resort (Overview)

Aseania resort
Courtesy to my company (which I can't expose it's name), we (colloeague and I) were sponsored on a team building trip to Langkawi. The activities are short and some what meaningless (according to the attendees) but the trip was very fun. When check in to Aseania Resort once we reach Langkawi.
