I'm coming home
tell the World I'm coming home
Let the rain wash away all the pain of yesterday
I know my kingdom awaits and they've forgiven my mistakes
I'm coming home, I'm coming home
tell the World that I'm coming
PETALING JAYA (Jan 26, 2011): Berjaya Corporation Bhd chairman Tan Sri Vincent Tan Chee Yioun has acquired a minority stake in CARiNG Pharmacy – a successful home-grown pharmacy chain – in his personal capacity.
With his vast experience in the retail business, Tan’s entry into CARiNG Pharmacy is seen to provide a further boost to the pharmacy group and take it to the next level.
His participation is expected to enable CARiNG Pharmacy to expand its business faster, especially in terms of growing the number of its outlets.
Established in 1994, CARiNG Pharmacy was started by five pharmacists who were coursemates in the School of Pharmacy, Universiti Sains Malaysia, with the first CARiNG outlet opened in Taman Muda, Cheras. Today, it has 50 outlets.
As the awareness of community pharmacy services was still low then, the founders of CARiNG Pharmacy decided to instill the value of pharmacy profession by providing 12-hour, seven-day full-time pharmacy service, free counselling service, blood pressure checking and other health checks at a minimum fee.
It also introduced a modern open concept for its outlet’s design to maximise interaction between its customers and merchandise.
CARiNG Pharmacy set up its first mall outlet in 1Utama Shopping Complex, Petaling Jaya in 1998. Last year, it had more than 10 mall outlets.
In 2008, CARiNG @ Tesco was set up in Tesco Mutiara Damansara and the number of such outlets increased to five in 2010.
