Migration to Wordpress

Officially Moved to Wordpress as of today.

Shall not update this blog anymore.

Found a lot of flaws in Wordpress = cannot put your own plugin scripts etc for their security reasons.

So will try and wait it out and see if they are going to do something about it.

Will also search for other source of web host to host the wordpress software. (roll eyes..troublesome...)

In the meantime, I will continue to blog at this address.

xiansosaur.wordpress.com (so easy to remember rite? *wink*)

Hereby thank all for the kind attention and tolerance for my ranting mutterings in this blog for the past 3 years.

Section 377A and homosexuality

I know this seems to be a lag response to a long-ago issue.

But since it's an important to study for one of my papers (to think it's 40 marks essay!), I kinda buried myself into it again recently.

I am a pro-get-rid-of-tt-ridiculous-piece-of-law person. Besides I dun see how sex between gays are everyone's problem and sex between lesbian is none of government's problem.

Isn't it like a double standard?

Plus what's with the "we-dun-actively-enforce-it" but to get rid of it means we approve of it.

Quote from the drama Majo no Jouzen where the female teacher was arrested for supposedly seducing and misleading / kidnapping a minor.

"Laws don't exist to protect us. They exist to punish those who don't conform to society's standards."

To say they don't actively enforce is ridiculous.
Number 1: Then what do you have that law there for? It's to show you oppose right? Then if you don't enforce it? Isn't that saying something like I-banned-it-but-I-shall-pretend-I-dun-see-it.

Number 2: Like what some NUS law don said...what if the police, on a tip-off, raid a flat for suspected drug offenders and discover no drugs but gay sex instead, would they prosecute?"

Number 3: Just saying that don't enforce has no power in the legal world as long as it is not properly legalized in some acts or documents.

Just like how they banned Mass Effect because of an intimate lesbian scene. (I nearly fainted~ Mass Effect is like SO GOOD LA~ U should check out the graphics and AI engines etc. Super cool game play.) Who cares about the cinematic~

I don't know la. I think this is seriously a grey area in terms of legalizing.

"Can same sex parents allow to adopt?"
"Can the same sex get marry?"
"Can the same sex be together?"

As far as I know, most people (guys especially) cringed at the idea of gay but is okay with lesbians.

I think this stems from the societal pressures that guys and guys shouldnt be so physically touchy while females are allowed.

IF you see two guys holding hands compared to two girls holding hands, I'm sure many will immediately say that the former are a pair of gays and the latter probably sisters or good friends. (Unless one has butch-like hair or something.)

Sigh.

Seriously, bottom line is that. It is none of our business. They are okay people la.

And I must honestly say that even if my kids are homosexual, I'll be their support in whatever they want to do. PROVIDED they are truly aware of what they want.

(Cuz i am a firm believer that somehow being in same sex schools for too long may result in same sex preference. Though I heard also that it'll die out soon after graduation too...)

Ah well....what a long post.

Ah~ J-Drama

Majo no Jouken...also known as Forbidden Love or (魔女の条件)...go google/wiki it...

Ah....1999 11 episode drama....

But by two of my favourite actors....Matsushima Nanako and Takizawa Hideaki...

I love the storyline....

"Michi, a 26 year old high school math teacher, tentatively accepts her boyfriend's proposal of marriage, uncertain of her love for him but feeling pressure from her father and society to do what is expected of her.
Hikaru, a 17 year old boy frustrated by his home life with his single mother and having been expelled from many high schools for bad behavior, enters Michi's class as a new transfer student.
As their relationship grows they realize that they both feel that they have lost themselves to the pressures of those around them, and it is this common bond that draws them dangerously close.

What follows is a heart-wrenching story of forbidden love where Michi must face society's judgement for corrupting a minor, abandoning her fiance, and disappointing her parents and co-workers."

Who say teacher and student cannot be together? It's none of the society's business...

When the conservative social values and expectations comes clashing head on with the true bond between the two.....ah~~~ So sad ah~ Wat a sad yet beautiful story...

Opening song by Utada Hikaru (First Love) = so u can imagine how old is the show...

Anyway, I still hold on stand. Teacher and student, wide age differences, inter-racial, homosexuality....As long as they are truly happy, who are we to judge.

AH......i love the show....japanese people can do drama-mama really well....(i mean, even the anime can make u go crying for one week..)
