15th on the 29th!

meh lil o' me has backdated entry again ~>.<~ Today marks the 15th on the 29th! Happy happy! Met for dinner today. Dined at Seafood Harvest at Bugis and had a big big feast! We had half a dozen of Escargot with garlic, Lobster Bisque, Seafood Platter Combo, some chocolate cake with melted chocolate inside (yes I know, again. But it's different I swear!)

Seafood Platter comes with Baked Pasta with Fish (yes the cheesy one you see there), with Calamari+Battered Prawns+Fries and a cold dish of Prawn+Oyster+Mussel

There isn't much to go around for 2 if that's all you're gonna have. So having an appetitiser or dessert really does help quite abit. And oh not forgetting our trusty carbonated drink (which we didn't have any btw).

Teh Sinful Chocolate Cake. It didn't look too fantastic. Looked like a lump of turd.. LOL. It had more towards the texture of a choco muffin, but the melted chocolate inside was really nice. Actually we decided that they used the same kinda chocolate as Pier Eleven. But what the heck, whatever! Because this was really tasty at only.. like $4.80?

So the total damage came up to a rough $63. Appetiser, main, drinks and additional top ups, surcharges etc all in one. But I still won't even let go of Pier Eleven. That's just luxury!

She made me post this :( *wails*

GET SMART

This show is awesome! Really. I've never laughed this much in one seating during a movie. Never. Steve Carell is the man. He really plays his part well. This show is a remake btw for those who don't know. It's an old classic. Anne Hathaway's pretty good too. I like it, and enjoyed the company too :)

It's good

Moving Mountains

you forgot... how could you? it's been happening too often lately. I'm seriously going insane. 3 times within a span of a week? How much more can I take I don't know?

It's like whatever I say
Ooh
Just can't get through
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, oh

Now, now she loved me, shawty I loved her
Used to jump up in the maybach and roll out
Used to care, she used to share
The love that she used to give me can't be found
I lost my way, she said she'd stay
And lately I've been sleeping with a ghost
My stock is down and out, I used to be worth my weight in gold
That was before a great depression kicked in and rocked us
And that was before the hurricane came in and stopped us
I told you to leave, but you lied to me
When you said that, "baby no worries I promise to get us back".

I know sorries, just wouldn't do it
Her heart is obliterated, I'm trying, I'm trying my boo
But it's like moving mountains...
It's like moving mountains... hey.
But I keep climbing and hoping things would change
And the sky turns gray, and the water from the rain washes progress away.
It's like moving mountains...
It's like moving mountains...
Why just leave me?
Just leave me be.
Just leave me.
Just leave me be.
Why you just leave me
just leave me be.
Why you just leave me
just leave me be, ooh.

She, she don't touch me, I don't touch her
We rarely even ever say a word.
I really want to give her everything she deserves
But the bad took away the good.
She thinks that I'm full of it, arguments, always pissed, man I'm tired
Every kiss, bed I missed, girl you know I'm trying.
You never believe when I say, and I never believe it when you say
I love you, and I shouldn't complain about it
I should take it like a man and walk about it
Cause we will never be the same, ooh.
I've been standing in gas, and you have been the flame.

I know sorries just wouldn't do it
Her heart is obliterated, I'm trying to get through
Got to move this mountain.
It's like moving mountains... hey
But I keep climbing and hoping things would change
And the sky turns gray, and the water from the rain washes progress away
It's like moving mountains...
It's like moving mountains...
Well baby why you just leave me?
Just leave me be.
Just leave me.
Just leave me be.
Why you just leave me.
Just leave me be.
Why you just leave me.
Just leave me be, ooh.

I know sorries just wouldn't do it
Her heart is obliterated, I'm trying, I'm trying my boo
But it's like moving mountains...
It's like moving mountains... hey.
But I keep climbing and hoping things would change
And the sky turns gray, and the water from the rain washes progress away
It's like moving mountains...
It's like moving mountains...
Well baby why you just leave me?
Just leave me be.
Just leave me.
Just leave me be.
Why you just leave me.
Just leave me be.
Why you just leave me.
Just leave me be, ooh.

Why you nvr should believe the media

My Paper today: http://www.zshare.net/download/141824238defe134/

Goodness me. Yet another article involving the saga and if this shows why we should never trust the media.

"Doctors agree that more health tests are good, but they may not be cost-effective"
$>life>health

good game. what a balanced weighing scale.

"Out of 100 parents polled, eight in 10 said they thought the youth today was less rugged than before. But when it came to their own sons, parents were much kinder in their assessment. Half the respondents did not think their sons were less rugged than their predecessors. They claimed they made sure their sons were active in sports and outdoor life."

This clearly says that the polls are biased and that the numbers should not be taken into consideration.

And yes. Please compare to other nations. Hey the best countries to act as benchmarks would be *drum rolls* ISRAEL & FINLAND. CONGRATULATIONS FOR WINNING NOTHING!

I believe that these stories have a follow up already prepared. Something like oh SAF will do "XXXX" even though this article somehow states that actually most Singaporean parents with a son do not expect/want/require/wish for a change in the system. And also going against the doctors' "cost-effective" preach by coming up with some mid-tier exercise which requires minimal expenses. And voila. HURRAY!

Goodness me. The medical check up does not need a revamp. It does not need new equipment/gadgets to correctly take down certain physical defects.

So yea once again. Don't believe the media

21

21 is a very cool flick about Blackjack. It opens 7 August 2008 in SG but the DVD has already been released in the US. It's about beating the casino system by counting cards. The lead actor really reminds me of Wei Liang, his boyish looks.

Definitely, Maybe is such a wonderful romance flick, only that the main character is a SNAG (Sensitive New Age Guy) who falls in love 3 times but didn't quite make it. It's a wonderful play on love and timing. Sometimes things happen at the wrong place and the wrong time. Wonderful film and I wish I had the time to watch it all over again. I'm probably a pussy to like chick flicks =/ The trailer certainly doesn't do it much justice because it's way better than that.

Cold Sunday Afternoon

This guy and female partner came knocking on my door this afternoon. I thought he was some salesman until he pulled out his bible and started to preach. My mum and I were... Amused. But not entirely. It's funny that he started to talk about the Earth and its famines and asked us if we agreed that food prices are going up. Not that I should insult him, but comon'. It's a fact, not a personal opinion, why do we have to agree with you because it's true!

Then he realised that there was a buddha statue resting on my living room table (which my Dad placed it there), but continued talking anyway. He flipped his bible and started to read out loud, saying that the bible has predicted it more than 2,000 years ago. That nations will fight with nations, kingdoms fight with kingdoms *blah blah* and earthquakes *more blah*.

Nostradamus predicted the twin tower saga. Does that make him God? Nostradamus made so many other accurate predictions, perhaps he should be a fortune teller. Wars existed even before the B.C era, I could've predicted that too. Like hey, I can make a statement now that wars will continue to exist because of mankind's selfish egoistic nature. Earthquakes are natural disasters that even existed since the prehistoric era with dinosaurs, what makes you think that after 2million years that the world will be any different, much less 2,000 years.

It's funny how these self-proclaimed Christians are on missionary escapades to convert non-believers. But instead, they should be the ones to focus on those in need. I became sorry for him that he knocked on my door. Too bad I'm a non-believer. And on top of that, he continued by knocking on my neighbour's door, who by the way, is an Indian national. Like.. Good luck with that dood.

Into The Wild

This movie is truly magical. Everybody should watch this movie, I mean it. It's about 2hrs 20mins long but it's really worth every minute. The scenery, the story, the emotions, all feel so real. And more than that, it was based on a true story.

Into The Wild talks about a young man who graduated college with good grades. His parents were quite a big figure and they didn't lack money. But he chose to abandon all that, and donated his own wealth to charity. He backpacked across the country with no money just to feel liberated and free from the stench of society. Along his journey he met many people and touched their lives. A truly sad and emotional tale that makes you wonder why can't everybody be like him.

He died from starvation and being poisoned by wild plants which he ate. Christopher McCandless

NS training saga

first I want to say. WOOHOO I made it through my 4th week. GG GG!!

I read an article this morning and it pissed my pants off. You can find the news here extracted from today's My Paper: http://www.zshare.net/download/13919811d16c4430/

I find it so ridiculous that a young punk is actually writing this article. Like who gives a hoot about what you care to say. You just O.R.D 2 years ago, and you served only 2 years of National Service. Heck you didn't even go through 2.5years. Who are you to judge when you are in this generation. Try going through NS during our fathers' generation. Then perhaps you can write a column and actually not get slammed. T-H-I-N-K

PES A does NOT mean that you are the finest cut. PES B status can be accepted into Commando as well. And also what makes you think PES A people are physically fit? They just have a healthy body system with no serious ailments, that doesn't mean that one is physically inclined to go through the training anyway.

You can moo and we can boo. If this article was meant to be used during a stand up comedy I'll be the first to laugh at this idiosyncratic young man trying to explain his own generation about National Service. What a joke it'd be. My dad ate "rubber chicken" while the NSF are being served catered curry chicken right now. He did push-ups on the blistering hot gravel. Most of all, he was disciplined regardless whether he was right or wrong. But in today's context, all it just takes are some phonecalls and some emails to be sent and eventually things will be changed.

I think this saga is a joke personally. You cannot compare the present to the past. Just like how the army is moving towards a 3G era. You don't suppose people still throw hand grenades or use pistols in a war. Times are changing, the Earth has shown us how badly in shape it has become, and I also believe that there could be a degeneration of the human immune system as viral diseases become more abundant.

If you ask any General Practitioner, otherwise known as your neighbourhood doctor, you would've known that many people have been succumbed by influenza in recent years and many other diseases; short-long term. Children nowadays are affected with severe skin allergies. Basically put, mankind fucked up. The meat that we eat are getting all sorts of diseases. Mad Cow, Chicken Flu, fish and pork are also contaminated. We're breathing in polluted air every single day and suffering from the effects of a destructing planet.

Simply put, the human body is no longer the same. As much as Darwin would like to come out of his grave to prove that humans are evolving further, he cannot.

One thing which can be improved upon is during the medical checkup itself where the PES status is issued. The medical checkup to determine the PES status is a long 4 hours, but these 4 hours determine 16-19 years of your body just like that. Ailments that cannot be justified by a specialist's letter are hard to be taken into consideration. So why did this matter blow up this badly in the first place anyway? It's not like it's another commando who died in a dunking mishap over again.

ok now that that's over. Time to play game!

300

Lol no. This is not sparta. But this is my 300th post. Wow it's been a long way. Wonder how long I'll be keeping this up, recording my life.

Monday sucks. Especially so when you don't have proper sleep every night due to weird dreams. I can't remember much of it, just fragment of images that disappear as I awake. But I feel so tired from all the nights. Oh tired, and it doesn't help that more workload has been added to us, the temps.

YQ and I joke about work everyday, and it's becoming like a daily topic. We're laughing at how annoying work has become for us and I liked how he put it. We're working as if they're paying us thousands of dollars. Somehow I'd rather be doing filing and photocopying right now.

I've 2.5months left to go. That seems dreadfully long.

I got this in an email today and it sure brightened me up.

and oh not forgetting to mention. Usher and Chris Brown are the best soul artistes. *heart*

What a gloomy future

I'm back with updates. Plenty. So read only if you've time to kill.

First off: Incredible Hulk

Incredible Hulk isn't exactly incredible. To give a short description of the story, this movie is different from the previous movie "HULK" which was screened in 2003. HULK was directed by Ang Lee while this one over here is by Louis Leterrier. It is NOT part 2. But unfortunately it did feel like it's part 2 because they jumped straight into the story where Hulk, was already a Hulk. Fight scenes are probably the most exciting parts of the show, because the story is quite plain, along with some dry humor.

Highlight to read spoilers: Tony Starks(Iron Man) comes onto screen nearing the end of the show, saying that he wants to build a team. This can only mean that the director has intention of linking more marvel superheroes into upcoming movies. Damn.

A gloomy future ahead of me. I've been dead pissed off at work, if you've already read my previous entries, you'd probably had known. It sickens me that I, as a barely 3 week-old-temp is getting blamed from top-to-bottom. What I mean is exactly true in the hierarchy system.

Me sends data upwards -> Senior Mgr-> Regional Offices->Rejects the data-> MD finds out and questions Senior Mgr-> Me-> Owned

It's pointing fingers directly at me. I can't help it that I'm providing wrong information, firstly, the information was inaccurate in the first place, and secondly, nobody had told me how to do it correctly. I sought logical poles for me to work my way through and was told to base my work on a sample, which was also wrong. So yes blame me, the ignorant temp who's so unfortunate to get screwed over and is probably deemed incompetent; or in any case, careless, now.

Then during my "pissing-off" moments, it suddenly struck me. Could I reach their position (or surpass them) in future? Afterall, the work I'm doing now is purely based on experience. Nothing has been done out of the box. These are things which are done, and is probably done better in many big firms. So my question is, if variables such as experience, competency and market conditions are held constant, and the only difference is that piece of paper (certificate which you should already know by now), would I be able to reach where they are right now?

It saddens me that I still think that piece of paper makes alot of difference. If not for the position, then the wage that values the position. Recently I read on the papers about graduates being the norm in Singapore. It is a fact. In the past, graduates were clearly separated from the rest, but now it's become so common that it sucks. Having that piece of paper doesn't mean you'd definitely do well now. But not having that piece of paper means you probably can't go far, unless you strike it out on your own. And I regret to only truly understand that now, or maybe last year. Which is kinda late. Why can't we all perish now? The Earth will come to an end someday soon anyway.

And another topic. A hate message to sillyporeans. I was on the bus just yesterday and it was crowded, I was standing. *fastforwards* There's this blind lady who wanted to get off the bus. Her elbow nudged me by accident and she said sorry. I couldn't blame her, and it wasn't a big deal, so I said "It's ok". While trying to get down the steps of the bus, some sillyporean was trying to rush out and banged into her. The blind lady said sorry.

I wish these people can just evaporate. Lessen the Earth's population and lessen global warming and scarcity of food. These people can't even let a blind lady get off the bus. FFS she's BLIND! How much morals must one have to give way to her! Sickens me to live here. Once again, what good is education when morals aren't taught well.

Also, this news is a tad late. I was lazy to post. 1.3billion people vs 1 Sharon Stone

Sharon Stone made a silly comment about the Sichuan Earthquake saying that it's karma. It slapped 1.3billion Chinese across the face and these people probably wanted to give her 1.3billion slaps across her face.

Finally, on a lighter note. It's a friday night. Something that I look forward to for 6 days a week "inclusive of Sunday evenings".

Utter Frustration

[rant]Work is just so darn annoying. So infuriating! Feel like exploding into a cloud of smoke really.

I hate how work is such that you don't get proper directions.

How to drive to Thailand: Drive through Woodlands and Malaysia and you're there. Not exactly spot on.

And to top things off... I'm working with a relative. And another thing would be that I have to submit my work to her. AND another thing is that her performance is based on the same data I send to her. I hate screwing things up. I obviously don't want it to happen but nobody can give me the right direction, so what can I do but to mimic a beetle and bang into walls senselessly?

The feeling's not nice. To screw up time and time again, and it's obvious that these were the things which I was tasked. And the worst thing is that I still don't even have a clue how to do it right! BUT I ASKED! Countless annoying times.

Sometimes I wonder what good is a company without proper SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). What good is a company when it doesn't do archival. And yet these are the multi billion dollar companies earning tonnes of money and setting high forecasted sales figures each year.

I've learnt that I'll never ever want to venture in being an accountant. I absolutely hate making things tally. It's just such a sickening job when you have to treat work as a piece of unfinished jigsaw puzzle. NEVER

Still it never ceases to amaze me how a company functions however dysfunctional their staff members may be. And I've learnt something recently. Never work with relatives especially close ones. You'll never know how awkward some things can be. And oh! Now I understand why office romance is a no-no too.

*FACEPALMS*

And tomorrow I shall return to office, look at the computer endlessly hoping that somehow I'd get it all figured out. Work has been backlogged because I have to redo most of them, which stinks. I'm even thinking about bringing work home... I might do so tomorrow.

On a lighter note, Euro Cup 2008 is on. Actually for about 4 days now, I'm late, but screw you if you didn't know it before I said it. Ok I'm joking.

I wish I could do this at work

Wash your hands dammit!

It irks me to see people leaving the washroom without cleaning up themselves before they leave. It's just so unhygienic especially when we're supposed to be in an advanced and educated society. How much energy would it require of you just to be clean? So much for education.

It's back to a blue Monday. Din have enough slp. Goodness.

I don't believe in GOD

Before you start reading this post, I'd like to comment that this post is entirely made up of personal opinions and that this post isn't meant to change your mindset about GOD or religions. Neither do I think less of you as a person just because you do.

I don't believe in GOD. But I do believe in something called hope and I also believe that humans are weak. There's unexplainable things that humans cannot answer and GOD explains it all. I don't think that GOD made men. Men made GOD.

Humans are weak. They need reassurance and they need guidance and each time they find themselves asking for help or opinions on what to do, but the answer clearly lies within themselves. I think that GOD is a figure of hope. A figure of almighty strength and benevolence that is impartial to all because this is what makes a holy figure.A good person.

Everyone has GOD inside of them, but those who believe in heaven and hell, and that GOD exists, decides to choose a path of denial. I do not believe in GOD, nor do I believe in destiny. I believe in hard work, and being true to yourself. Humans should start believing in themselves rather than in someone else.

I'm subscribed to a YouTuber, olgakay, a comedian-juggler from Siberia and I happened to watch a video of her talking about religion. For most of the part, I believe in exactly the same things that she does.

Just a little thinking on a Saturday wet afternoon. Cheers

The Perishing Earth

The Earth is Perishing

Today i shall talk about the perishing earth. It is something which I think is inevitable. Extinction exists and there's always a pattern in it, and unfortunately the time has come for another cycle. Animals has always faced extinction, but right now, humans are facing it too.

Recently I've been reading the papers for quite abit, usually headlines, but what sparked my interest lately is the step up on the "Going Green" efforts everywhere. Actually it's late, far too late. For about a decade now, environmentalists has predicted that the Earth's resources has been diminishing faster than it can replenish itself. On top of which, the humans are digging their graves with the pollution generated each year, and humans like me and you, have been the same contributors.

MediaCorp launched Saving Gaia, a Go Green campaign which was brought forward with an advertisement which generated much interest. Many said it scared children, left them with sleepless nights and I got slightly freaked out when I saw it too. It wasn't a pleasant sight, but it did catch my attention. For those who are interested in viewing it, you can click here but please, viewer discretion is advised.

I've been doing some thinking lately. We'll die anytime. Singapore is safe from most natural disasters, something I thank for, but it doesn't stop the fact that we'll die anyway. So why not appreciate life more and do your part to allow the future generations to think of a way to bring us all to another planet and start defecating there. w00t.

I shall end here for now. It's a Friday night. Let's enjoy =)

Chiongster Cunt

im back with a rant

i was on the MRT, about to alight at my station. this old uncle wanted to alight as well, but before the train even approached the platform, he started to push his way out. Obviously he tried to do the same thing to me, so he started pushing, but i stood firm, steady against his force. then he stopped, shot me a glare, picked up his elbow and nudged me in my sides

what an asshole

and this is singapore, a place where at times i wish i wasnt living in. would it kill to be a little more gracious? a little more love in this world wouldn't hurt anybody ffs

peace for the win

if you havent done something nice in awhile, maybe you should. switch off the power when you're not using. hold the door/lift for somebody. say thank you. simple things. happy things

on another note, NEA has been going very strongly about the BYOB (bring you own bag) thingy. i read TODAY this morning and i saw a post under the Voices section. this guy was talking about the bags which are massed produced and sold as "Recyclable Bags". i agreed with his views. why encourage people to purchase manufactured recyclable bags that are mass produced, wasting resources and creating more products which are hard to be broken down. why not instead, encourage ppl to bring their own paper bags or existing woven bags that are already selling in the market?

anyway heck. it's a thursday night. tmr's a FRIDAY!!~

work's gettin tough
