Doting Daddy

Yes, this is a deflatable pool. Size 1.6m x 1.6m!

The girls are very fond of swimming after they went to a chalet where they were having fun in the pool the whole afternoon.

Since then, they are always bugging us to bring them swimming! Everyday "mummy, swimming huh? go swimming?"

So, me being a *SP mother, starts comtemplating to get a mini deflatable pool! Especially when realise the price not very steep actually, @ $19.90 for a dia 900mm size.

When I break my idea to the daddy, afraid he will pour cold water on me and frame me a SP mother again, to my surprise, the daddy agreed and even thought of getting more bigger one as he can dip in too!

So we start hunting around and found this at Toys 'R' us offering $39.95! Wow! for such a big one! The daddy even thought of getting a 2m X 2m one but I think those are too huge and the price too.

Though getting the pool is cheap but buying the accessory is not. This air pump cost us $79.90! More expensive than the main thing!
I am hesitating to get it or not as we have the manual one, but the daddy has a far sight. He anticipate he'll have a hard time, imagine how much leg power he needs to pump in 1.6m x 1.6m of air? By the time the pool inflate, he deflated already!

Luckily we bought this pump, pumping up the pool is just 10mins task! The girls are so excited! Even dry swimming in the pool! Haha!

So we are ready and get set for our coming bungalow chalet! Yeah!

We are at the chalet and having fun time! :)

Yes! Daddy pitch us a tent too!

*SP - abbr for " seng pai " in hokkien means spoilt brat, a mummy who pamper her child too much!

What we have been doing lately, before sleep...

Lately, we have been engaging into this quite regulary. I hope I can do reading with them instead but this is nothing bad either...

Yes! Every night before sleep, they will want to doodle. And these are the few "thing" they will keep asking me to draw then wipe off and draw again and again and again.... -_-

Raining
"Mummy, draw raining...."
So I draw a few diagonal stroke but they dont buy...
"no... umbrella..."
and I draw a huge umbrella...
"draw abella... clarabelle... mummy... daddy..."
So this's how this pic come about. Sometimes if I draw the brolly smaller, they also reject... "no... big big umbralla..." then wipe off my drawing and want me to re-draw -_-

Finally, when my drawing pass the "QC" check, the two satisfy customers pretent to take the brolly from the picture, pass one to me, also hold onto one on behalf daddy, start to sing the raining song.

"rain rain go away, come back another day, as we little children want to play, rain rain go away!"

and yeah! When finish, they'll start to collect back the brolly, putting back into the picture and wipe off the draw! What worst is when they want to do the rain again... yes, i have to repeat the whole process again =_=

if not, will be...

Durian
"Mummy, draw durian..."
If too small, they will reject too! Must big big, big durian!

And when done, they will wipe off and say "mummy, draw open durian!"

-_-

Open durian
They love durian. They pretend to eat the durian. Bending their head forward, taking turns to Um! Um! Um! the durian or use the finger to pick up then put it into their mouth and my mouth!

Sometimes they will want me to add ants... ants coming to eat the durian -_-

But Abella will feel scare and Eeeeh! then it Wipe off !

Ice-cream
Their another favourite. Must draw big big also.

and ants coming... must be coming from the cone... cannot be sprinkler on the top...

Ant
Though Abella is afraid of ant, she love to draw ant still.
See, this is her ant, just a dot.

sometimes she will draw few more...
"mummy, see ant... many ants..."

The lazy Clara will always think of many things for me to draw...
Daddy's car

air-con remote

milk bottle, hi-5 (tracing of her hand), leg (tracing of her foot), fish, aeroplane, butterfly, bee, flower...

Recently she has been asking me to draw Barney, Abella, Clarabelle, Mummy and Daddy...

Destructive Girls!

One night, I made these insects paper craft. Hopefully to give the girls a surprise when they wake up next day!

These craft are very easy to made... and the final product made me so excited! They are so colourful and nice!

Indeed, the next morning...

See the excitment in Abella?! Her favourite is butterfly!

Seeing her smile has brighten my day thought it gona to be another busy one at work :)

but the craft did not survive long... they had a fatal destiny...

and the culprit is no other but my two girls!

I do anticipate this will happen but never expect to be so soon... less than a day...

That night before I can stop any destruction, the girls had already "dissect" them!

粉身碎骨! 惨不忍睹!

They are very fond to destroy paper stuff kind of things, they torn pages of book, magazine, party hat and paper craft like this... and I think destructive is a very 要不得 behaviour and must be corrected since young. When I try to instill them some sense of ownership and responsibility to take good care of things, be it their or not, I had a hard time...

They know I dote them very much and seldom sound hard to them. So when I get serious and talk to them firmly (is tough though, they always amuse me dispite they had done some misdeed), they are not listening and are trying to talk me out with their topics... -_-"

me: " No! mummy's not going to hear what you say unless you pay attention to what mymmy say." Me looking stern and sound firmed, finally the two girls are attentive and standing straight girls.

me: "mummy tell you many times not to tear things right? can u tear things? yes or no?"

clara: "can you tear things, yes or no.."

me: "answer mummy yes or no? "

clara: "answer mummy yes or no.."

me: "dont repeat what mummy say! Answer mummy"

clara: "dont repeat what mummy say.."

Arrrh! She is testing my limit... she knows is wrong to tear things and I know it's difficult for children to practice what they preach as they still need to attain some self managing course call "self discipline", even some growth up adults have not attain, not to say a young toddler... but what Im concern is, she dont respond appropriately... +_+"

me: " see you have tear the tortise, now they are not nice, they're all spoiled, you cant play it anymore...blar... blar... blar..."

Finally I give up explaining, I feel myself very naggy and further explaination wont made them understand any. So I give each a spank on the palm and made them stand against the wall... their eyes turn red, will cry any moment... but they are very obedient, standing against the wall, looking at me...

After 5 mins, I go back to them and ask: "can you spoil things next time? yes or no? "

Clara & Abe : " yes!"

me: -_-" No... you dont tear things, when spoilt, you cant have it anymore...."

Abe trying to form back the torn tortise as they often see me taping those torn pages and crafts... -_-

Abe: " mummy spoilt... tortise spoilt... cannot spoilt things..."

me: " yes... see it's spoilt... you cant play it anymore... where is the caterpillar?"

Clara: " Oh where? where is the caterpillar?"

Abe: " there!"

Abella ran to the living room, climbed up the sofa, pointed the back of the sofa hugging againt the wall... and when we push away the sofa... pieces of paper dropped out... which is the segments of caterpillar...wings of cicada... She had torn them and slot into the groove in between the sofa and wall!

Last night, we were doing some drawing together on the doodle board, then I felt lazy and pretended to sleep... when they erased the board and wanted me to draw other things, I told them mummy is tire, want to sleep and closed my eyes even with their continous begging : " mummy wake up, draw... draw raining... draw durian... draw ant... "

I thought I have success smuggle thru... then Clara muttered : " Oh! Mummy tired... Qijing draw... ant... haha! (Clara self laugh) Ant no more...(she erased off) Durian... (she drew a oval but the line didnt joined and self-talk...) open durian, um! um! um!" She offered some to Abe too... Hearing such, how would l bear to swindle their innocent... so I opened my eyes and when they saw, imediately they cheers : " Oh! Mummy wake up! Mummy not tire! "

A-r-r-g-h ! ! !

Just when I have to think positive and be happy at work, there this colleague came agitating me! It very difficult but I tried not to cross line with what she's doing but still..... A-r-r-g-h! Dont understand why she likes to complicate the simplest things and dont ever expect her to do a slight complex task!

I tried to draw the line very clear but everytime when she is not able to complete her task or she had mess up something, I will be the one to clear HER SHIT!

Boss knows about it but so what! He'll just asign some other task that she's competence. That's my company policy. Assigning the task to the apporiate person to ensure the efficiency in work!

Of course I'm not wishing the company to fire her but her attitute of working is really just hoping to swindle among us! We work as a team. When the team gain credit she get the credit too! That explain why she's still surviving in the company and being paid for the professional but not having one!

She knows her own problem and inefficient but so what! She's never want to change or learn! I know I shdnt be bother by her choice of life but not when she gets into my way!

She has a mentality that since we can do a better job why dont we do it, but she forgotten that she fetching a salary that require her to produce that amount of profession! So she is always procastinating and hoping at the end of the day, as urgent, somebody will pick up for her and that person is always has to be ME ! ARRGH!!!

Update...

It's has been sometime I didnt update the girls' progress...

Potty Trained
Abe & Clara are finally potty trained, at their 28mos. Both "small" and "big" business! Haha! They didnt take me much pain afterall *grin*. Hmm... potty train children at this stage is not really a bad choice, they are much more sensible, thus making the explaination easier! But I still make them wear diaper during outing, cant imagine bringing them to the public toilet... better wait till they have good sense of hygiene!

Open & close & locking of door
Since that time Abe was being locked inside the bedroom, I had taught her how to unlock the door but then she was too short and dono why Clara has a better manouvre... Today she is able to open, close, lock & unlock the door! Now they are always open and close the door, dispite my many warning and scolding... sometime they even lock the other outside, causing a dispute... *sign* so worry one day their fingers or toes will trap in the groove, they can get quite rowdy at time. The father will always say let them learn their lesson... but a bit to hard way right? Better keep my finger cross :x

Simple folding

Check this out! They fold their own blankie and left it on the shelf for me! Thought it still untidy but they master the concept quite good! Fold the right corners to left corners till a manageble size... I didnt capture when they fold the hankie... those are more tidy and Abe even put it nicely in the drawer :)

Keeping their own mattress

(1st pic) Standing mattress?! Is actually Clara behind! They are small but can be quite mighty too! See, They are keeping their mattresses, pillows and blankies... from my room to another room! Clara even initial to push back the waste basket to the original place as it was moved accidentally when they were carrying the mattress... :)

Chopstick skill

Last Sunday for the first time, we brought the girls to JB for breakfast! And for the first time I saw them using chopstick without me prompting them?!

How it happen?! Search me???
I ordered beehoon for the girls and when it was served, Clara just picked up the chopstick displayed on the table and start swirling up the beehoon and shovel into her mouth! I was amazed though it was a mess but... I am happy to see that. The maid was feeding Abe... then I offered Abe the Chopstick and she started swirling some beehoon and shovel into her mouth too! :0

Last but not least, now they can complete more song and even longer lyrics like Doremi, ABC, Itsy bitsy spider, twinkler twinkler little stars... and hum along with some song when they watch Toy Story... Yes, now their daily watch vcd is toy story :)

Cant believe nowaday children are so.... capable? huh?!

Happy Birthday Singapore!

Yesterday was our National 41th Birthday! Happy Birthday Singapore!

It was a public holiday and the girls realised that when they woke up seeing daddy & mummy not dressed up to work but still on bed!

Clarabelle pester daddy... "daddy go farm (goat farm)? huh? go farm?" and YES! Daddy agreed! So immediately we set off after a quick wash up as we want to catch the goat milking session before it end at 11am!

It was a wonderful morning, breezy blue sky with beautiful cloud, everything was perfect for such outing!

When we passed by the Kranji Reservoir, Clara yelled with excitement: "Mummy see! Water !"

It was high tide! The water level is almost the same as the road level. The girls were so delightful, they love to see anything associated with water... kept reciting water, water fall, swimming... etc

When we reached the goat farm, it was already crowded with families. We were just in time for the last milking session. Standing at the viewing platform was an "pungent" process but the girls dont seem to be bothered instead kept imitating the goat bleating, mie... mie... as if they were able to communicating with the goat... *eye rolling*

Beside watching the goat in the farm, the girls enjoyed most is the goodness of the milk! Most people will cringe at the smell of goat milk but I am glad that they love goat milk, most probably it's the chocolate flavour and the chillness, the only drink I gave them so chilled. Really have to drink it very chilled then the goaty smell is not so overwhelming though the tints of chocolate does help abit too.

Sharing a 250ml bottle is definately not enough for them but I made them share, the chillness of the milk can really make them cough...

Beside the goat farm, Kranji does has many other nature places to be explored. We drove into an jetty and realised that was the Lim Chu Kang Police Coast. It is also a pier for fisherman at the nearby kelong to reach spore. The pier deck was not very secure and wobble but that doesnt intimidated us from getting near to the sea... the air doesnt smell good (rotten fish) but the scenary is tranquilling... this place may be daddy's new fishing hangout... the girls love it and kept looking out for fishes... and me? sure come back for more picture, when I got myself a better pixel camera! : (

Next stop, we went to the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. Entrance fee $1 for adult and 50 cents for children. Im not prepare to pay entrance fee for a nature walk but thinking it's just a nominal amount, for maintaining the nature... well, this is the minimum I shd do to help conserving the nature...

I will advise to go this place well equipped. Binocular, good camera, head gear, proper walking gear, generous time and a filled stomach. This place has too much to see and you really need the time to appreciate the scenary. This time round was too ahoc. The girls were hungry and tire. Though we saw the monitor lizard, mud skipper and tree crawling crab... We will definately come back next time, well prepared... :)

This was how the girls celebrated this year National Day, Roar ! Mie...! A tranquillity National Day :)

Just some daily pixes...

Abella & Clarabelle self-playing... pick up a card, asking " what is this? umbrella... " pick up another card, " what is this? sofa..."

Clarabelle like to put two soft toy together and play pretending talk...

Using the card as diaper and wrap up the elephant ??!
... ... ... -_-"

Then I wip out the camera to snap these photo... Abella saw and keep pestering for it... see her masterpiece...

then Clarabelle saw and pester for the camera too...

Abella is reluctant as she has not got enough of the camera but to let Clara has it. Being naughty, she take away the two elephants, not letting Clara to take pix of it... I know her plot and comment "Abella u very naughty hor! Take away both the elephants... " then she gave a cheeky smile and put back one elephant.

Hmm... Abella, witty but sensible huh?

What is this? ... ... ... "TOY!"

I always recap the girls' vocab bank up by picking up objects and ask them, " what is this? " and when they answered correctly, I will clap and praise them " Correct! Clever girl! ".

One day, I realised they were counter playing the flash card by asking each other " what is this? "
Aww... isnt this a good sign? They can be each other good learning partner in future... when suddenly Clarabelle flashed a card infront my face and asked: " what is this ? "

Huh?!... So boastful woh, dare to challenge mummy?! Hahaha! Those were what I had impart to you, of course I know lah! Hahaha! She was not convinced and kept flashing more cards till I told her all the names... she must be impressed mummy know so much! Hahaha!

Then that day, the girls were playing with the newly bought "doctor kit"... and I taught them stereoscope, syringe, computer, pincer... then Clarabelle flashed this hammer look alike apparatus on my face and asked: " What is this ? "

Huh??? ... ... ... I was too tire to reflex but frankly tell her... my dear, I am sorry, mummy dont know what is this... very next moment, Clara shouted " TOY!"

=_= " ... ... ... I shd have just tell her, " hammer ".
