The morale last practice was pretty high.
We're starting to really bond as a band.
Everything we're going through -
Marching under the hot sun, playing music, perspiring, running towards the water cooler (Haha! My favourite line!),
Remember, we're doing all these together.
One for all, all for one.
I know it's hard, it's hot, it's tiring.
But the whole band is suffering together!
So don't give up!
Endure! Keep it up!
Let's work hard together and get the gold we deserve!

okay..
first time posting here. please dun stop reading after the first line. Lol
alright. im posting here because i would like to encourage and praise the band for
a rather good job on the attendence. i do not know if im too formal on this. Lol
in the recent few practises, there has been a great improvement on the attendence
of the band and the attitude of each of us towards working to our goal on april 10.
So to speak we are left with
6,393,600 seconds, which is
106,560 mins,
1776 hourswhich is
74 days from the day i post this. The digits may look alot but seriously, the
time is gonna pass faster than you think. One second you are doing push ups the other, you may alr be at the indoor stadium crying either because we won a
GOLD or its either we won a
silver again which i guess none of us want to.
From what i think, i can see that the sec 2s, which used to be very troublesome and always
pon-ing band, having the spirit to fight for that
GOLD and teaching the sec 1s. alot of you guys have changed. sec 3s and 4s are taking the responsebilties to get the GOLD medal the ALUMNI cant get. Lol no offence. So guys keep up the spirit and attitude for band.
WE CAN DO THIS CAUSE WE ARE
THE 07, 08, 09, 10 BATCH OF WSMB
the new and improved bunch of ppl, except for the 07, 08 batch
still lag at forever being 06, 05 bunch. All are 'decendents' of 06, 05 batch
All crazy one, each one at least get admitted to mental hospital once.
And the trumpets. Laugh that sounds like machine gun. rapid fire mode.
But for some sections there is still improvements to be made, more bonding might help.
example would be the colour guards. although a new section but rather strong as a section and listens quite well to their leaders. to the sec 1s. if you need any help dun be afraid to speak up. You can always look for your leaders. they should be more than willing to help you guys. dun give up on the spirit that you have and JiaYou for learning the songs and formation. and if you have any problems, you can find the excos or instructors and teachers.
i guess this will be all, the rest i forgotten. will post if i remember.

With Pride We Strike!
It's 22 Jan today and 23 Jan tomorrow when your are having your saturday practice. Let's do simple mathematics calculation to know how much time your have left before your showdown @ Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Here goes:
11 weeks to 10 April 2010.
10 weeks of band practice (because chinese new year falls on 1 of the weekend)
3 Practices per week? This will give you 30 band practices to Band Competition.
Are your songs inserted into formation? Not all.
Are your formation near perfection? Nope.
All the holes filled up? Nope.
Do take note that I am not asking if you marching is GREAT, the quality of your music is GOOD TO BE HEARD. By saying 'Yes' to both of the questions above will only get you a Bronze (: FYI = For your information.
Not being discouraging or demoralising. But it is the fact (: No doubt, we all know that the formation this year is much harder then the batch of 2008. However, that should not be used as an excuse for the slow progress and rather less positive attitude from the band.
It is either now, or never. Trainings are going to get tougher, everyone of your are going to get even darker, stress will just be mounting and not reducing. However, it is either your break it or make it.
Ex members fought hard for this band; to get the school and outsiders to respect this band as WEST SPRING DISPLAY BAND. Your seniors pull Wsband back on the right track to success. and you guys are not going to break this.
No time to joke, no time to play. Time to work hard for this competition which you will remember for life.

What does cca mean to you band member? Maybe is just a cca that pass time get together and enjoy each other company or wat? Some of you have went through one band competition remember the time that u all get punish by the instructors and u cursing like mad? Or remember the time when u have to run round the field because of mistake that are made by others? These is the most critical period of band comp preparation that the band is going through and there is so much obstacle infront of the band are we going to face together as a band or just shy away with the problem and never face it as a band? why is the band working so hard for the result or the medal? Isit the result that matter to the band I guess not as it is the training and friendship that is build in the band am I right? Don’t u all think it is sweet when on the day of competition the announcer announce the result and it goes “The band from WEST Spring Secondary school , Gold”. I really hope we stay together as a band we are one no matter u are from sec 1 to 4 we are a big family where we help each other. Always remember the biggest enemy is urself. If u cannt conquer urself how can u beat others. I really see a lot of change in you all. You can feel that most of you all is more and more concern with band cos u love it. Wat cca can give u that feeling? The most difficult road is ahead of us remember to stay together as one so we can beat all odds to get what we really desire. Always remember our motto WITH PRIDE WE STRIKE

With Pride We Strike!
Hello band members!
I'm sure all of you enjoyed yourself in Kedah.
Those of you who took photos, upload them to Facebook or something and share them with the other band members, okay!
For the 5 days in Kedah, it's not just about having fun,
I know we had fun and learned new things at the same time too.
As you can see, the style of marching in Kedah is very different from ours.
The whole point of getting you all to write down what you've learned in Kedah is to make sure all of you bring something back to Singapore to teach the other members who missed the trip.
Not just marching, I'm sure we all learned a lot about music too.
The exercises that the instructors taught you, please remember and practise it constantly!
For those members who didn't go for the trip, don't worry!
All of us will practise with you!
We're all new in this style of marching too,
so we'll just have to depend on and help each other.
Our competition is just a few more months away!
Whether we get a gold or not, it's all up to us and the amount of hard work we put in.
How hard you work determines how much you want the gold medal.
Let's work together okay!
We'll all move forward together, not leaving anyone behind.
Then we'll bring whatever we have to the competition in April!
