Week 3.

Week 3 already lor.. so fast.. too fast. -time flies when you're having fun I guess.
Got on the badminton team! Woohoo~ the B-team to be precise. But then we're playing the Ulster league in div 7.. wad the.. neverminds! All fun and games anyways. Can't actually remember being exhausted after a match last year in div 9.. PLUS, James and me got our new record of 21-1 (best score against an opposing pair) last season. Moved up to Div 7 lorr.. Playing with him again this year. To continue our unbeaten league streak (minus intervarsities coz we lost to galway and cork). First match this thursday anyways.. looking forward to it.
That aside, things as usual, early for all my classes today plus getting totally soaked cycling home during my lunch break (wasnt fun) OTC tomorrow night plus a 'fresher's stretch' on this weekend. So much for Raya Open house...
Yet to finish my report due this thursday. Plus a list of things at the back of my head like -'do I wanna do a YEAR placement or just a SUMMER one. The middle east looks like really cool place to do my placement.. Havta talk to Dr. Holland about this soon..
Fell asleep in Rooney's class today. Embrassing siut! First 15 mins, there was me, Jack Wong, answering most of Dr Rooney's 'quiz' being attentive and a nerd in the front row of a class of 10 people only (2 rows only) Then slowly drifted away when he dived into his power point presentation on thermodynamics. Andy tried a few times to keep me awake by suppling the odd few nudges or elbows. But the moment he stopped, I dozed off into a awkward 45 degree angle (sitting straight is 90 degrees) happily halfway to slumberland. Until Rooney's standing next to me asking if I'm ok.. the rest was history...

Zzzzzzz.....
Aaaaaa...wide awake for all the other lectures until the last one, kenot tahan man.. Feel guilty now.. Maybe I should go on with my plan to bring asam to class and pop one whenever I start drifting away to my own world..

In the army..
A while since Ive updated. End of week 2 now that its friday. Good enough weeks, busy and interesting. Yet to show my face at the canoeing club.. lol. Why did I even sign up for that in the first place when it clashes with my badminton. Got a 'special pass' to get on the team this year, i.e no need to go through the try-outs/trials and all. Justified man.. last year I sub also can't get. Was a lil disappointed that time. But somehow ended up on the C team anyways- in div 9! hahahaha... all fun and games in the end! Not forgetting the Intervarsities. Grins*
Recap- this week flew past me... It was only monday then waking up to find its already friday. Speaking of waking up, really did struggle for the first time this sem to ooze outha bed this morning. Intensive badminton last night, thats why.. Not to mention the ever-staying bloody irish rain thats loves to hang about everytime I step outside or greets me every morning when I get on my bike. Week 3 here I come! but heres the weekend to chill first! Pic: my OTC-issued uni.

First week of uni.
Back to uni!
2nd year now. AND apparently , quote Dr.Ahmed ' ..don't mean to scare yous but this is the hardest year..' wtf..
That futher backed by the Heat Transfer stuff we found ourself in during our very first lecture by Holland..gowsh.. its like trying to grab an eel in murky waters. Serious.
On the social side, gone up to the same clubs as last year and took up canoeing this year as well instead of rowing coz its 'bad' apparently (Rob)
Signed up in the OTC as well in Queens this year to see whats it like. OTC = Officer Training Corps up in the Malone road. Don't really mind the discipline now, been a lil sloppy lately.. Just signed up there today. You see the amount of forms you have to fill in and sign, even more than my visa application I think! besides a medical check up. By the way, the OTC is part of the TA (Territorial Army) in the UK. You get paid for it, 38 bucks per day at the OTC. They do all the military stuff plus 'adventures' like hiking, climbing, navigating and all that shit in different countries. So fingers crossed if I can get in and if it all goes well, I'll get my gear next wednesday (uniform and all!) How cool is that?
Nearly failed the medical test.. They have some thingy where you blow into it and it shows how hard u blow and all according to your height and age. Apparently I got narrower tubes in my lungs..so maybe thats why I didn't get the 570 for my age group but rather the 350 in the first go. The big tattooed, muscular ,mean-looking doc was actually sound and let me repeat it a few times till I got my shit together for a 500 (one needs at least 80% of the average) So I still need to clear up some paper work with them and that should be it! fingers crossed*
