Badminton Club Pub Crawl '07

Wednesday night -Scholar's Bar , Botanical Inn , The Eg ,The House. Note*-a pub crawl is going to different bars/pub in one night. Fun! :) It started at 8 but I was with the sky diving club when they meet up in The Parlour at 8. Just wanted to get more details from them...and we are clear for lift off! 4th of november here we come! Jeezz...some guys actually jump 3 times a day man! and they do it every weekend....heheheh.

Off to the Scholar's then in the union at 9 to meet up the badminton fellas. Wasn't too late -they were still there. A game of pool ( a few) chit-chat ,get to know more people or even to know some people better! -e.g Lian, Natalie,Rama,Dave and a good time to top it all. Had this 10£ coupon thing I got for being part of a survey I did on tuesday which I could use at the bars in the union and and used it to good effect-bought drinks for gals -lol. :P

Good night ,had a good time. But sorry people most pictures are quite blur (camera phone no flash wan) plus it's dark. Didn't noticed Eric'c sister initially-she blended in soo well as an Irish not as a french at all! Friendly person-so is Natalie and James.

I think I'll just let them pictures summarise the rest got to do my pre-labs!

L'Eric!

Weekend-er!

My P3 practical that I partly screwed-up -ooooo that innocent blue liquid...EVIL! not to mention stubborn as well.
My first weekend in Belfast since I've been down to Dublin the last 2 weekends. The streets around the university are unusually empty. Indian food on sat! Pretty good. Memo*-don't order any drinks there next time! A rip-off.
Studied a wee for my class test on monday and off to badminton to pass time (3 hours) Damn, I'm still fit! Thought I was goina die after the first 2 hours but I suppose thats what I used to do in school! lol. Everyone's home! only the international students are seen ,well some of them anyway.
Went downstairs to watch the rugby finals between S.Africa and England with the frencys (Lucas and Eric) which quicky developed into ANOTHER awkward position for me when theres like 9 french in the tv room and a innocent looking 18-year old sipping his beer.
Not to mention the fact that they are postgrads (20 year old++) Did understand bits and pieces but lost overall in their true french accents. I regretted the day Lucas and Eric found out that I understood french! Why do I even hang out with his french buddies!? Match over-jettisoned my ass out of there back to some real Dublin accent back in my corridor and just sat at the kitchen with the lads till 1.
Seem to be taking my life at my own pace which is (very slow!) people saw- 'you're pretty fast on the badminton court..' Do things like a tortoise all the time tho! Walk also slow now.... Seem to obey my own rules of time and space. Which maybe explains the worrying increase of public transports I missed. Sometimes I do wish theres more 1st year international undergrads! So far all the ones I've encountered were post grads or final year students bar Ray in Chemistry.

Shit, Iactuallycookedmyowndinner30minsago!

What a day!, finished with my lectures @ around 11? I COOKED! College is waaay, different that school life in its own ways. Plenty of pool is one thing but its so flexible and more relaxed (well it gives you the impression of it anyway) although you have to do considerable amounts of work and my laptop is not helping me at all....
Hang around at the science library with some course-mates on the intention to finish the pre-labs and post-labs but as usual, ended up as a social event. Got very little nothing done. Off to the union then after that .Paid for 1/2 hour of pool yesterday with Rob and Jason but ended up playing for 1 hour 15 mins and got away withh it. :) . Bonnie's (Bernadette) going bungee jumping!? goina go watch her piss and shit herself hahahhahahahah! Considering it at the moment.
Bought some stuff at Tesco with Hung ,a Vietnamese corridor-mate. Grocery bill- 11£ for some chicken, a red pepper ,black pepper, olive oil ,kicap, apple juice, potatoes and eggs. While walking back to my apartment ,kept wondering how to cook my dinner without -
a) setting off the fire alarm.
b)burning something.
c)product is EDIBLE at the end of the reaction...lol
d)fill my stomach.
I was actually prompted to cook my own food when I though of my own joke of trying every flavour or product of Goodfellas frozen Pizzas after 4 years in college (which is sad!)
So away we go! chopped the peppers , marinate the chicken with kicap, olive oil, salt ,black pepper and my finger-prints. Too much oil on the pan (which means oil splashing out at you when the pans hot) no pain, no food. Chicken drumsticks hit the pan with a sizzle in my nizzle don't know what that means!? Woah....chicken cooks faster than I thought. A company of red peppers then were parachuted into the fray to add the flavour. Flip punya flip then lifted the pan and shake like you see in tele. Starting to brown evenly , ok add more black pepper- lift open the cover not remove the entire cover of the container! NoOoooooooOooo......... 10X times more pepper then I wanted ,poured unto the chicken as I muttered-'shit'. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise it really gave the aroma and hence my 'I-dunno-what-I'm-cooking-chicken' became a respectable 'Black Pepper Chicken' , no sauce , dry and full of flavour and smoked the entire kitchen Some small baked potatoes to compliment my main course. Should have removed the skin though. Ah, well....learn as we go!
Totally enjoyed it and offered some morsels to Sultan, Hung and David. Thumbs up people! :) Moral of this story,-not all fuck-ups are fuck-ups for sure until you endured to the end. So stick to your guns for any who considered giving in!

Basic Chemistry.

Don't ask me about the title....just another flotsam that drifted by in the oceans in my head.

Internet down in my room (more like I didn't know how to connect) fixd it anyway now. Back down south for the weekend (again!) Worked on sat night, busy enough...went home looking forward to dinner in front of the tv and lo and behold POTC 2 was on! Was enjoying it till Kelvin and Idel rang to ask me out to The Old Bridge Inn (uncle's pub) of all places!?
Good night out anyway-learned how to pull pints and got them for free while they paid for theirs :) .Went home at 2 after 3 pints and feeling tipsy...should look at Idel! she's drunk alright! lol. Out with some french guys last thursday badminton , dinner then pub and the 3 french guys met up with the other frencys and there I was ,surrounded and feeling weird again- 'err.....je parle un petit ......err....peu francais...' We were talking about the guinness ,stages of it- the cream , smoothness to the after taste. The last time I had guinness was when I took a sip back in Malaysia from my uncle loooong ago and Lord, it burned my innocent young throat .Now, it tasted fine. I'm not an alcoholic by the way if some of you had that impression- use alcohol ,don't abuse it. There is a difference.
Back in Belfast now. Still pondering over Idel's words -'have fun in college but don't get tied down in a relationship especially when it gets serious....' Time to revise my policies again.... :)
OOooooo...assignments stacking up slowly....theres Chemical Computations , understanding Basic Chem , Chem Eng but I take it this way- its basicly mathes and chemistry ALMOST EVERY DAY....1 practical every week.

Tagged by Bone2.

Down south for the weekend. Missed the last bus to Navan last night @ Dublin , had to ring my uncle to pick me up at 12 pm....lol. Uni/college life is GREAT! tried rock-climbing yesterday with Rob and Bernadette and practically just hung out with them the whole day. Bernie actually looks a 'wee' like Meredith Grey from Grey's Anatomy! -strange..... had to do some assignment where we have to UNRAVEL the science behind 'VANISH OXY ACTION' a stupid stain remover..... who the heck picked that for our assignment!? Bernie! Should have picked super glue or the super-cool spray on plasters.... Stuck with this anyway to do a 2 page report with my group anyway. :(

Ok back to business- TAGGED (list of 10 things ppl don't kno about me)

1-When I was in 4th year back in Gormo ( I was new back then) a girl offered me a blow-job (what a SLUT!) . Was disgusted and graciously declined the offer.
2-Sometimes wonder what will I be like or what will I be doing if i didn't make the choice to 'jump' to Ire.
3-Had a few handfuls of 'crushes' I had to suppress (or rather keep it low!) in the past due to the 'unsuitable' situation I always find myself in- Ok, time to bare it all! HECK I might not even see them again! :)
-List includes the following -lol :P -Grace , Caroline , Chloe ('o7) , Vivian , Nikita , Avril Lavigne Lol... My chest kinda felt lighter now :)
4-Nearly got my ass and Jin's hauled off to the cops about 2 years ago in Court 10! Adrian , you owe us on this.....but I always thought the bastard (guard) was just tryin' to scare the shit outta us.
5-Used to fantasize about Halo and Master Chief until recently.
6-Someone saw my ding-dong before by accident when I was training the girls Under-16 team thats when I got jocked by my own cousin! revenge was swift and unforgiving after that. (Jocked him back about 3 times!) ASS!!!
7-Saved my own cousin from drowning when I was 14 in Endau Rompin (initially stood there saying 'Look , action movie! ' to my other cousin while my other cousin was screaming for help)
Ran over then and jumped in! CANNON BALL!!!!
8-Practiced, experienced and really grasped the meaning of the expression - "savage butchery" during the year end senior outing at the end of 6th year when we went paintballing Shoot at people as they surrender and slowly walk to the neutral stations........ I will forever remember when I found this guy lying down ,waiting to ambush my team in an "OUT-OF-BOUND" bush next to the trail. Shot him once and heard him winced and surender-paused a second before gunning him down close range as he screamed while I thought -'cheaters don't deserve a chance in any competition' give no quarters and take none. 'do unto the other what he would do to you before him' was the motto of the day. People shoot me as I retreat/surrender and I returned them the favour. Knocked out literally for a round shortly after a head-shot above my protective mask.....
9-My nightmares are always about losing people that are close to me the kinds of nightmares that makes you wake up panting and sweaty...lol Apparently I heard that if you take cheese before you go to bed you will have nightmares? How true is that? Well, I'm goina find out one day.
10-TRIED smoking marijuana before just a few puffs but didn't liked it - parallel to my standings of trying out stuff just to know whats right and wrong. Offered so many times but only did it once and most probably will never do so again- its VERY bad on the lungs. Well this is not acceptable in the society from which I came from but I don't give a fiddler's fart about what some 'kataks under the tempurungs' might say.

First week in College or rather Uni!

Officially moved into my 'home' for the year-Guthrie House, located DIRECTLY opposite the Lanyon Building (main building). Guess I was lucky-very close to my classes most of the 1st years are in Elms Village which is a good, long ,hard 15 minutes alk uphill for them everyday. Downside-I'm living with all the post-grads (ppl doing their Masters or PhDs/old ppl!) not that I really care. Its a flat/appartment thingy where we share the toilets and showers as well. But social interaction is VERY limited here- each corridor has its own locked door ,restricting access to other people's room (girls espeacially!) so basicly get to hang ut with ppl in the same corridor only-a spainard, an arab ,a few americans ,a few locals , chinese guys and a vietnamese and on top of that , throw in a 18 year-old sesated Malaysian undergrad. Very multi-cultural heh?

Got a laptop yesterday for about 500£++ at Currys in Belfast city-happy with it so far. Free internet in the room some more.... Needed it to download all my lecture notes from Queens Online anyway. Someone forgot to tell me that uni is WAYYY.....harder and different than school or college man. So many people-we mix with the chemistry students for most of our lectures. Theres only like 20 of us chemical engineers but like 50 of them!

So here I am studying at the apparently no 2 uni for Chem Eng in the UK-something to smile about in the future. :) First day, first lecture-got lost had trouble finding the lecture hall in the David Kier Building to make it worst, they changed the room numbers recently so I was 15 minutes late! besides, I already missed 1 week of the lectures so I was a 'wee' lost on the first day. Slowly caught up eventually (I think!) after spending an hour everyday on revising.

Jeez...its soooo big that you meet new people everyday! plus I'm very bad in remembering people's names! - 'urgh....hi!...er...yea, How are you? er....whats your name again? Joined the badminton club here as you can OBVIOUSLY guessed its great!

Getting a taste of college life now, starting to enjoy it! :) Got a fancy glass trophy after winning the September Open Round Robin (badminton) in Dublin last week! :) Nice trophy....best one so far....
