Thanksgiving Weekend
Our beautiful granddaughters on Turkey Day... we had a delicious dinner at Ron & Sarah's.
I didn't get up at 5 am to go shopping the day after Thanksgiving, although I have in the past and I do enjoy it. Bob & I went to the annual craft show at the local high school, then home to put up the tree. I went to a parade (Bob doesn't really get into parades) to see Santa's arrival in town ...Bob & I decorated for Christmas...I did make a quick trip to town for groceries, we were out of lots of stuff and we have have a winter storm warning, the snow started falling before I got home... and the weekend is over. Decorating is not finished and Christmas shopping is not STARTED! SOON...it will all be taken care of SOON!!!!!!!!

So Cold
It has been so cold this week...wasn't it just a couple of weeks ago that we had temps in the 70's??? These frigid temps ( it was 11 degrees here early this morning) have made a winter wonderland outside my window every morning.
This little guy obviously knows how enamored I am with him. He seems to pose just for me to take his picture.
I am sure he knows just how beautiful he is. I'm hoping to get a picture of his lady. I see her around almost everyday, but it seems she is much more elusive than her male counterpart.

Frost
What's this?? It was a very cold morning here today
and everything, the ground, the shrubs, EVERYTHING, was covered with SPARKLES!
Yesterday I dug out the gigantic pine cones I collected a couple of years ago and hot glued ribbons on them so I can hang them on the Christmas tree. As soon as the family room is painted I will be ready to put up the tree. (I went to an antique shop today and they had a basket of the same size selling for $3.50 each! ~ maybe I should collect a few more!!)

It's beginning to look a lot like..........
It has snowed all day today and the pine tree
by our front window is beautiful! Folklore says lots of pine cones means a long hard winter - hmmmmmm
The swans look so pretty (I mean handsome) against the white snow.
This little birdie was at the very top of the pine tree.
And, I can never resist taking a picture of a cardinal - especially when he's on a snow-covered branch. It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
