We took a little trip yesterday to visit the Hay House. It was very impressive, with it's huge arched pocket doors and it's gold trimmed high ceilings. Of course no pictures where allowed inside. We toured 3 homes and a beautiful Catholic church that has recently had a 2 million dollar renovation.
Macon is very proud of Oprah's recent visit. The tour guide showed us this B&B where Oprah stayed while filming her Christmas show. He also showed us where she shopped for shoes (a shop owned by Otis Reddings relatives), a little restaurant where she had a couple of hot dogs, and of course the auditorium where the show was filmed---now you know we could have drove around town all day on our own and never known these facts!!!! We took a break in the middle of the tour to check out a place he recommended for chicken and biscuits, which really hit the spot with me, Bob had a veggie plate and even that is quite a challenge, since most veggies down here are seasoned with a little PORK! We enjoyed our visit and hope to return someday during their cherry festival.
