Lettermo day 1 & 2

Yesterday my Lettermo has started! In less than two hours I received all eleven letter requests I needed to complete the month schedule, pretty amazing.
I was pleasantly surprised by seeing so many people from so many different countries, there are just a few doubles, and that's even more interesting. I'll be sending letters to countries I've never sent to, so yay for widen horizons!
Anyway, I really want to keep a record of all the letters I sent out, but writing a post each day would be too much for me, so I'll group them in 2 or 3 and make a couple of post per week.

The first and the second letter that I sent respectively yesterday and today, are for two girls I found via sendsomething. They weren't on the top of my list, there was Sophia actually. However, I'm waiting for some nice stationery I've bought online to arrive, so I wanted to wait to finally be able to send her a pretty envelope like the ones she always sends me.

The second letter has a drawing on the other side, but I forgot to take a picture before sending it...

I still have 2 people on my list that I've found through that website but, to be honest I don't really like it, next month I'll probably delete my profile there and start being more active on swap-bot, which has a lot of interesting swaps that I'd like to do. For now I've signed up for two of them: one that has to be done in the next few days, and another one by the early days of April.
The first one is an 'instant photo' swap, which is pretty self-explanatory. I'm very excited to do this one, since I haven't been using my instant camera for a while (due to the cost of the film :c ) and also because receiving surprises, is always good. The second one is 'one sentence journal' (it will be possible to join it until tomorrow, so click on the link if you're intrested) and seems very cool too: everyone will keep a small/pocket journal for the whole month -March- and will have to write a sentence every day about what happened, what they did, what they thought, and such. When the month is over, we'll be swapping them and have the chance to have a glance into someon else's life in a very original way :)

Lettermo participation & changes

Hello there,
for those of you who don't follow me on tumblr, you probably don't know that I've decided to join the Lettermo project.
I've been into penpalling since I was twelve, but only recently I've found myself completely rapt in correspondance. Through tumblr I've had the chance to find a LOT of new super nice penpals from a lot of different countries and, moreover, I've also found out a lot of interesting mail-related websites.
At the moment I've 7 regualar penpals and even if it would be awesome, I really can't have more than that, or I wouldn't be able to keep up a fairly fast correspondance, and I don't know you but I like to write back pretty quickly.
My other mail activities, besides penpals, consists in postcrossing and just recently, I've attempted swap-bot and sendsomething.

I'm so utterly excited about this project, that I've decided that if this first month goes well, I'll extend the project for a whole year.
For this reason, I'm turning this blog into my 'letter project' blog, where basically I'll post about incoming and outgoing mail and anything related to this tipic.

Today, it officially starts my Lettermo, and I've already 15 letters on my list to send!
To complete the month, I'll need to send 11 more letters/postcars/anything, so if any of you is interested in a one-time penpal experience with me, you can request a letter here. (EDIT: I've reached 11 requests already! :D It will be available again for April later this month so if you're interested, stick around)
Click the 'read more' for more info about requesting a letter etc.

Cute finds!

Yesterday, after being at Uni and before coming back home, I had to buy an address book to keep a record of all my penpals (which, on a happy side note, have grown esponentially in number in the last few months!), but as you can see from the pictures, I ended up buying random, but cute, things.

Mail Day! #2

Today, I received another sweet letter from Sophia, so far so good.

Handing me the envelope, the custodian of my building told me that the envelope arrived damaged but he hadn't the chance to talk to the postman about that, because since the postal service was suspended for a week, he delivered a bunch of letters and he didn't really noticed that until he started sorting them.

Mail Day

The postal service here in my country was suspended for a week, I don't really know why, maybe because of the awful weather, but anyway..  today I received a bunch of cool letters!

WTJ Wednesday #1

This week's completed page in my WTJ, is "pour, spill, drip, spit, fling your cofee here" page.
In my first WTJ, I didn't particularly liked how this page turned out (regardless the horrible quality of the picture).
(the page in my first WTJ)
Moreover, I just followed the instructions without adding any personal contribution to the page. Mindful of this thing, I did my best to make sure that this time the page would have turned out more interesting.

Moleskine Monday #1

Today's pages in my altered art journal, are both dedicated to a project i'm working on with a friend.

"snail mail"
"Snail mail makes me happy" - mixed medias.
Pretty self-explanatory page: I've always been into snail mail, and receiving and sending letters makes me happy like only a very other few things do. During my second year of middle school, since I was fluent enough in english to be able to write a whole letter, I started having many penpals all over the world. One of those, a girl from Canada, is still currently my pen pal, and I consider her one of my best friends, even if we've never met. We've been writing to each other for 9 years and I'm pretty sure I can claim to know her better than many of my "real life" friends, and the same is for her. Apart from her, for a reason or another I've lost contacts with all the others, and only recently I've started looking for new people to exchange letters with.

Inspirational Sunday #1

To inaugurate my new blog schedule (see sidebar >) I decided to start by doing an 'Inspirational Sunday', since this week keywords have been inspiration & brain storming.
