It is so shocking.
SG PR openly declared her love for her motherland - joins the civilian army in celebration for her country's 60th anniversary. Her blue PR card was flashed on CCTV news, with her ID no. clearly shown.
Its no wonder our policy makers are trying to make clear the difference between SG citizens and PRs.
This incident really sets me thinking...

The Time Traveler's Wife
Watched The Time Traveler's wife with Jas yesterday. Its been a long time since i met up with her.
It is quite a nice show to watch. It's rather thought provoking too.
Would you marry a person whom you know he/she is a time traveler? He/she would just disappear to another dimension in time.
If you are a time traveler and you know what's going to happen in the future, but yet you cant change anything eg the death of the ones you love and even, your own death, what would you do? Bear in mind that you will be able to see these sights over and over again as you could not control the dimensions you will be going.
Due to a genetic disorder, you are able to travel through time. you know that you will pass this disorder to your next generation. Would you still want the baby?

Subject combi briefing
How can i forget to blog about this?
Went back to FHS last friday to attend the sec 3 subject combination briefing with my brother. I was representing my parents. Mixed feelings when i walked into the school compound. I wanted to say "oohs and arghs that time when i was a student...." but on the other hand, i play the role of a parent. so i have to act mature. -_-
I had to sit through the subject briefing again like when i was in sec 2. but this time, the school emphasize more on the subjects important for jc, hoping that parents will appreciate the subject combination offered to the kids in sec 3. I wanted to do a standing ovation when the principle said this statement," it is the constrasting subjects that are important for jc, eg if you are a science person, you have to take eg economics as a contrasting subject in jc. It is NOT triple science that is recommended by moe." Yes. prinicple, i totally agree. i just dont understand why parents will want their kids to opt for a triple science class. Dont they find it stressful for their kids? I would want my kid to be a big fish in a small lake then to be a small fish in a big ocean.
There was also a QnA session for parents to throw their questions to the HODs. As expected, no one voice out anything. All these parents will definitely fail in their participation mark if they are poly students.
When the session was over, Ms mona cheong (HOD humanities) walked down. She was talking to a student when she turned back. I gave her a wave and told her i was her student. Then she started to chat wif me

Post 五月天 DNA 演唱会 syndrome
JM woke up today to feel empitiness. Her head is heavy. Her mind is in a blank. She could not concentrate in any other thing that she does. She is still feeling it now. She needs MC. She is down with post-Mayday DNA concert syndrome (PMDCS).
PMDCS is a jargon for all who went to Mayday's concert. If you think PMDCS is plain gibberish, most probably you were not there to witness the power of Mayday's DNA injected into the audiences' bloodstream *SCREAM*.
JM is crazy... She is smiling to her hp and her camera. She is smiling to herself, smiling to her memories on 29th Aug @ the SG indoor stadium. All she can think about is the 3hr and 45min action she had the day before. oh.. it should be this morning cuz all had just ended on 30th Aug 12.15am.
JM wants to lift up her hands and legs to form L . O. V . E again.
JM is strongly advised to wear a mask when she go outdoors to prevent herself from singing Mayday's songs out loud in public.
JM is currently in self isolation cuz all she can think of is Mayday,Mayday and more Mayday.
Due to her inability to purchase the DNA concert tee cuz of insufficient time to queue, she is now in a much depressed state.(She had the money. but time is the limiting factor... this made her more dui) This has worsen her PMDCS.
This document will be continued...

Work happenings
I was somehow shocked that Mr Security officer V was so quiet when he came over for duty at my counter yesterday. Usually, he would crap a lot, eg
"JM! i really cannot survive here lah!"
"ppl always look down on us security, u know! from the way i speak, you'll know i am not poorly educated right? i am now taking 1/3 of what used to be my salary. Ppl always looked shocked when i told them this. Down on my luck, was retrenched..."
"I was the only technician in my ex company. so i was highly paid with fat bonuses..."
"I am now kana stuck here cuz got bond. and i juz brought a unit. need a job..."
"i am 40 now. many ppl say i look like 30+. i may look like an easy-going man, but when i am strict, i am fierce. you havnt seen my fierce side yet..."
"I tell you all these cuz i trust you. you are juz a temp..."
JM will always pretend to listen to him say all these. his words will float in from my left ears and out from my right...
So when he stood there quietly, i knew something was amiss. Then Security A (i called him Shifu) walked past V and i with a black face. I called over to shifu, but he juz walked away, shaking his head slightly. JM gave an eye signal to ask V what happened. then V briefly told me shifu and himself just had an argument. I quickly signalled V to stop what he was saying incase shifu walked out again.
When shifu walked out, JM pretended to be doing her work...

Finally, i bought tix to 五月天 DNA concert!!! Glad that i am able to find someone to go wif me despite that the tix cost a bomb. 最on的人原来就在身边! haha....
So went wif char to buy tix and then we decided to watch the hangover. it was like so impromptu! walked past the theatre then:
"Hey i think i wanna watch XXX"
"But havnt show yet"
"Whats showing now huh?"
"Think GI Joe is good"
"Huh? dun really like to watch these kind of shows leh..."
"Been wanting to watch the hangover"

"ok!!!"

(Off to the box office)
Even though i had to work morning shift the following day, i still went.

Thoughts: 21st
今天是Linda's 21st birthday celebration. I suddenly felt as if it was her wedding day, and we were there to be her 姐妹团。I really had that feeling at that instant i stepped into her house. Saw ms C and ms L. 人生真的很奇妙，以前可能知道学校有这个人，可是当时没有任何机会说话，可是when i saw them at the party, we can juz chat as if we had know each other for very long time. it juz came naturally. 我们都长大了吧！maybe thats juz our build-in 的 socialising skills. 很羡慕她们能够找到她们的人生目标。Can feel the passion in the things they are doing now. 那我的passion又是什么呢？
Had a really nice girls' talk. It was a comfortable and erm.. do you call it intimate environment? But too bad we dun really have a better place to sit ard to do marathoning. It was amazing how i can say what i feel infront of ms f even though i dun really know her well. 就很像和ms C and ms L一样，有那种两条平行线交汇时，可能会有火花的感觉。maybe everyone has a common goal.... tads feeling bored...hahha.... or everyone was juz emoing at that moment.
今天的girls'talk 让我觉得21岁是个很awkward 的年龄。There are many things we know of. but we havnt actually experienced them. There are many dreams and possibilities that awaits us. But can we really achieve them? All we can do now, is to sit and share. but in reality, situations do change. 每个人的21岁是不是都一样呢？是不是每个人在步入21岁的时候都会有那种不是小孩，但也还不是大人的感觉呢？
我们都有许许多多的i think, i wish, i hope, maybesss. 真的希望它们能一一够实现

Cupboard tidied
Just tidied my cupboard. Suddenly felt like doing it. Threw away my o-levels question papers that were still kept neatly in a folder. shocked that they were still around. its been 4yrs!?
Birthday cards, xmas cards, postcards etc. Dated 01-07. it was sweetest to read those handmade birthday cards with signatures from everyone in the class. and lol at some of their words.

Showered under a sky full of fireworks
Do you know how it feels to be showered under the sky full of fireworks? I experienced that when i went to yishun to watch the finale of the Arts Festival.

it feels so romantic cuz the fireworks are 360 deg all around you. audiences had to turn their heads around cuz fireworks were everywhere in the sky. This is juz one of the type that is displayed.

randon tv reviews
end of exams. period.
sat infront of the tv in the afternoon from 12 to 3pm today.
watched those channel 5 shows which i actually tot they were craps
from the debbie travis' the painted house to the fashion jury to PCK.
i think they are really great shows! when one is damn free, everything is like treasure.
i duno if i am too bored/emotional or what. while watching fashion jury, tears just welled up in my eyes when the fashion victim had to write a eulogy for herself.
reflecting on her past, to welcome her future.
Guess it was not easy to recall all her tragic past and all - being a single mother/ being the centre of attraction for the wrong kinds of things etc...
i admired her for her courage.
really. those are the people who will make you feel that you are more fortunate a million times
oh! and after watching the painted house, i suddenly felt like doing something artsy. i shall dig out my cross-stitch piece that i havnt touched at all. yes. i shall conquer that.

最近心情不是很好。总觉得很闷。心里也有许多想法。其实，乱想一通也是能解压的。但是说我压力大，也不是很正确。我没有很大的压力leh.

Thoughts from UK Revision classes
I had picked up some phenomena when I attended the UK revision classes.
1) UK lecturers are most of the time laid-back. They inject humour which is very relevant to the subject in discussion. This makes everything fun and easier to connect to. Local lecturers can't be comparable to them. They are most of the time stressed!!! The only time they joke are times to end class. Superficial? They teach for the sake of teaching? That's our culture for you.
2) Students don't respond when being asked a question. Sometimes, I really do have an urge to just shout out an answer, just to keep the lesson going. It's a waste of time when lecturers have to pause the lesson just to wait for an answer. We pay for these lessons. They arn't cheap! But I am just a typical SG student, I conform. If we are in poly, all of us will fail in our participation mark.
3) From the feedback given by the UK lecturers, students (SG students) don't think. We are so used to route learning that we have lost our common sense. Simple questions, yet we have to go a big round to answer them. Some even memorised answers and just threw out whatever they know without answering the question set.
4) Our education system is such a success in terms of the value punctuality that even the Director for LSE praised us for coming back from our breaks on time.
5) SG students are so rational that they copy WHATEVER the lecturer said. We are so efficient in copying that we can enter into the Book of World Records. For things that we couldnt catch, we effectively turned to our sides to see what others had written.

(the SG pax meant "I've got two kids. Do you want to see them? - takes out a photograph and show)

I cracked a joke about you cuz I know you too well:
UK: do you know why i always agree with (Director's name here. too sensitive. cant put it here)? Cuz it saves time.
Enjoyment was somewhat missing for a year of school. It is finally found in my four days of UK revision classes. Sad issnt it?

Random stuff
Random stuffsssss.....
1)webcamed with ah wan. the first thing she actually typed was " u look v auntie at home" erm....ok THANKSSSSS HOR AH WAN..... -_-
I duno if i am sua ku or wad. but webcaming is fun! yar. maybe JM is juz plain SUA KU KIA
2)papa is buzy mugging for his aborist exams tmr. JIAYOU PAPA!!!
poor thing. still have to study at the age of 50.... must be hard on his brains. he even asked me to explain concentration and osmosis. hope he pass =)
*ps: compare papa and me. exams are ard the corner for us. but i am still blogging here. papa's typically glued to his table and chair....
3)i accidentally dropped mummy's shampoo into the TOILET BOWL when i bathed. heng the bowl's flushed...... i juz picked it up, washed it and put back. i din tell her. and i din notice if the opening touched the water in the toilet bowl or not....
4)chatted with my cousin. he juz broke up with his gf. so he said he will jio girls from his uni. extracts below:
me: so u will be looking for long hair, demure and sa jiao girls?
c: shld be long hair, big eyes, sexy
c: b cup will be gd
me: how u know a/b/c cup is how big?
me: i girl i oso duno how big is b....
i guessed we both forgot we were chatting with ppl of the opposite gender.
4) watched anime duno wad shaku no shana. juz blindly watch since my bro was watching. dun really understand. but i like the name shana.
maybe i can call myself shana??? shana lee......
5) first hand info. bro told me fuhua is going to have a 1oth anniversary dinner cum grand opening ceremony of the indoor sports hall. time/date unknown maybe somewhere in jun. 辅华的兄弟姐妹们，我们一起去吧！！！！

CHANGES
its been a long time since i update. many changes occured.
JM juz cant seem to get her brain functioning. too relaxed after her prelims? she guessed so.
JM is using a new lappy with MS vista... love her new lappy cuz got web cam. but who can she talk to? but hates vista. duno how to type chinese words. She went to the IT show, squeeze into the sea of people, pay and drag the lappy home juz for her father. But in the end, her cute father decided to use her daughter's old lappy. so JM got the new one. if she knew, she'll choose the PINK one!!!!
JM juz soft-rebonded her hair. gone are the messy ends.
JM loves small changes.

Random school
Have been staying up late these few days. Stayed up to watch Obama's inaugaration till 1.30am++ on tue/wed. Stayed up to finish my poa assignment ytd. Ms chu dont need my assignment till after cny. But i felt better completing it soon. i guess i want cny to be worry-free. one more MM assignment and i will be done.
oh yar, talking bout MM, steph's angry (or should i say firm instead?) in class ytd. He said something like " if you have any question, pls clarify. you dont need to attach ur comments online." Was he refering to our ecourse survey? He ended the class 15min earlier. The first time he ended so early. But nevertheless, he is still a dear.

Sociology
" If you are not walking into hell, keep walking."
I have been walking around in circles in hell since the school reopened and i am still walking deep into it.
This is especially so for sociology. Walking and struggling and still holding onto it.

I dread CNY....
i dread people in my house. You couldnt imagine how big is my extended family. You dun even have a place to sit. some even have to sit in the balcony... OMG....
I wonder why public holidays are not spread out throughout the year. eg new year to be in April etc... so we will have holidays every month instead of christmas, then new year then CNY all in one stretch. Its quite tiring issnt it? maybe i am old already...
