Singapore Slingers won

Today I went to watch a basketball match...
You must be wondering:
"What the?? Miss Jenny went to see a basketball match, did she go to the wrong place?"
Yup I thought of that too before I went... But guess what... I did sit thru the match and Singapore SLingers won...I heard from the radio tat they had lost a few matches beforehand... Hmmm..but they won just because of my presence. HaHA!

Why I went?
It's all because of Mr Harris, our acting class teacher who wan us to write something on a tournament...
!#$%^&*() ... SHouldn't us be watching a dance concert...
But I did enjoy the match .. ya.. THe players were abit off at first but later when the match went on... Spirit was built up and with all the cheering from the audience and ME of cos... They won...101 -93..Awesome...
A basketball match is a also performance. .. It can see how the players react, respond, communicate, interact, stay focus, work as a team and etc...These are all elements that we apply in dance....It is indeed quite interesting to relate it to dance..

Ok Miss Jenny had been really busy these times round...
FIrstly, it's of cos my study, my mid term just passed... Din do really well .. but it's ok... will do better finals...then the esplanade show next weekend... Gosh....Come watch ok....13th n 14th October 6pm
SEcondly, it's my students, there will be sitting for their exam soon... and there still look lost at times..
Thirdly, my little boy had gone thru the first phrase of the GEP test... Having his second round soon...STRESS! he takes exam but I stress....
Just have to cross my fingers and pray for everything fine...
Ok Gotta stop here...
Really tired! have rehearsal tomolo....
NITE!

My teacher still remember my choreography in class

Today I woke up at 4am.
My teacher肖燕英 arrived at 5.30am. I went to pick her up and have breakfast with her and Ms Yan Wen Fang. I missed her so much. I held on her arms so tight. And really appreciated the time when I studied in Beijing. She was then liked my mother as she has the same hairstyle as my mum, she dresses liked my mum and her style and character are the same too. She is such a good teacher and I just love her.
During my school days, because I'm the only Asian student, she had to slow down her pace when she gave class while I dropped down notes... Hmmm... In Chinese. Gosh! I was so stuck and slow that time I remembered. So embarassing. So dear students do have a good knowledge of Chinese, who knows one day you be handling with Chinese words.
While having conversation with Ms Yan, she mentioned to her, she had a very deep impression on me during class. As I always have those weird ideas and my funny gestures and movements were liked so different from the rest. I was so delighted, as imagine she had taught so many students and she still rememeber my motif and my choreography. Ha Ha Ha!
But I dragged through my classes today... Gosh Contemporary then performance lab and then ballet. It was torturing. I changed 3 tops and a leotard, all soaked with my perspiration. Yucks! Then I had a quick lunch with Meng Hooi and Hazel and back to my theory class. By the time, also because after a heavy lunch, I felt liked sleeping. My eyelids were so heavy while we watched the video installation in the NAFA Art Gallery.
but the installation was amazing. So Ritual, how I wish I could choreograph a dance with the installation.
However, I feel that it suits Rebecca's choreography better. She was such a amuse, she just danced out her composition ard the installation. so funny.
Aft class, Had my dinner with my teacher. Took her to eat at Siam kitchen. She liked it so much. And we walked back to the hotel. She gotta get some rest as she giving speech and workshop tomolo. So sad that I can't attend. But I believe that those who are present, will benefit from her seminar. Jia You Laoshi.

Jaa...

Happy Teacher's Day

Today is Teacher's day.

Because I was so busy with my studies and work the past few months and my laptop was sent for repair, so din blog for a few months. After SYF and World Dance Alliance Asia Pacific conference, I had been to China in June to upgrade myself. Learn Jazz and two dances. Also attended Bill T. Jones workshop.

In July was really busy with work. Prepared WRPS's Stars Nite and SACPS and DHS's national day concert.
SACPS's National day concert

13th July went to watch Jacky Cheung's Concert with Teo Li Li
Before my school started, went to star cruise with my grandma. She really aged and I felt that I really have to spend time with her...
My grandma and I

Lasalle's School reopened on 13th August. Schedule was so packed that I hardly had times to teach. Luckily hav some students around me to help me up during their breaks. Really appreciated your help. RL...

Today, I was so happy cos my student celebrated Teacher's day with me in SHHK...the guys gave me a card. And there was also a cake for my mother and me.
Teacher's day cake
At least they still remember my present. Not like some of the ex-students...Sigh! hope they will remember me forever.
My trophy

Also, I wanna thank my Riverside Sec 4 graduating students for their "Best Dance instructress trophy" they had given me on thursday. It was awesome. I really enjoy the great time I had with you. It was really a hardtime after all of you stepped down. It had been awhile before I I got used to not having you all around... ='(
But your juniors are really hardworking and this year committees are really doing a great job. So I gained my confidence with RSS... Just remember to come back after you graduated.

Dinner: I had a wonderful dinner with mum and dad and SC and Huiying Jie in Lao Beijing. Thanks for your treat SC.
Enough of updating... Not feeling well... Get well soon Jenny...

Today was a long n tiring day...
Reached RSS at 6.45am and started to "paint" my gals.
Was nervous, cos today was my most stressful day..
All the other genre had clinched a gold award and guessed my gals would be in extreme pressure...

They all looked pretty with my new "mixture" of colours...Blue and Yellow .. so shade of yellow>green> blue... Woooaaa... awesome...

At first, I thought that their costume would look liked pyjamas on stage... But my gorgeous dancers had such lengthy lines that they all looked tall... WOW...

I saw them dance once and I rushed off to Melissa's Quek class...
As usual, I was late... Haizz... But I guessd Melissa would understand... She's very understanding..
Intitially, I dun wished to go... cos I was too worried with my RSS.. but I gotta fail if I was not present... cos I had missed so many of her classes and assessment was on wed... So die die also must go...
However, I left early at 1130am n rushed down to UCC...

TOO FAST TOO FURIOUS...zoomzoom....
The Riversidians were already there... Mrs Pang was there too with Mr KOK...
I felt that the RSS's principal was so supportive unlike the other school principal...hmmmm... dun wish to mention who ..heehee...

International dance was always very competitive...
So I dun ask for much Riversidian... A Silver would be enough...

I din know why my student tend to get nervous on stage... Not STeady at all..DHS oso liked this...

AS usual they started off quite nice.. but in btw as usual same pple same fault.. shouldn't hav entrust her. But the flow was nice when it started from the beautiful cross... n everything went smooth then with the beautiful lightings...Diyanah did extremely well...The rest i felt tat u were too nervous...

I stayed back to watch other school till 4pm ... some were really good ... but mostly were hiphop n stuff... I wondered why nowadays the instructors only know how to choreograph hiphop.. n their choreography could be expected... NO kick at all.. Or was it my problem... I still prefer Artistry... FLow... Beautiful landscape just liked a portrait or a painting

Riversidian .. I would be sure u would definitely clinch a Silver...but should be gold...with no mistake...

After that, I went to Dunman high to see the Senior high students...

The Juniors were there... Haha... miss them abit la.. cos din see them over the weekends..Kinda missed their laughters.

Dunman high seniors were hardworking... but only 2 mths of practices, I really din expect much..Moreover, their dance was very balletic... so it's even harder for them to execute.

To all my Students

It has been almost 2 yrs since I last blog.

Had been bussi with work, school and family all these while..

Life din really go smoothly for me...

Lost my beloved uncle... Chng Chock Liang...in March 1oth '06

a month later... I lost my beloved 2 yrs old Rottweiller...Toffee who was my best fren who lent his ears to me when I was feeling down...

I was living at the most torturous state of my life...

I was LOST...

Although I continued working but I was not my usual self anymore...
I started to dislike my work.. lost interest in dance...

I stopped logging on to the net and tat's why I stopped blogging...

May '06

eric's mum bought me a dog... Rhodesian Ridgeback... Tyson..

He brightened my life...
He is so Cute....
I told myself ... I couldn't go on this way... cos this wasn't Jenny...
I registered myself in the BA Dance program in Lasalle...I started school in July 2006..
Although I enjoy the life being a student.. but I missed my student... I had given up a few schools...

Now at this point of my life, I think I should blog again.
Who inspires me to write again.. Is my Dunman's students...

I felt really touch on the comments they had on their blogs, the video Dora's had created( It's awesome...) and many many more...

At first, I told myself not to have high expectation on the students, GOLD is really enough...

However, gradually when I saw their progress, I started to aim higher... (You should be proud my dear students, as you already excel in my heart... )

Truthfully, I was really disappointed to the with ur(Dunman) performance during SYF...(wrong positioning, not synchonised, falling off and blar blar(learnt from Dora...) It could be better...

But It's over! It's good enough...
"Dunman High School ... Chinese Dance GOLD award..."

This is good enough for me to update my resume... Thank you Dunman Chinese Dancers...
I am also happy that you all have created this bond within yourselves.. the most precious of school life-- Friendship...
I dunno about the past students but they had always given me the impression that they dun really work together... cos I always heard the PRC and stuffss... Hmmm & ya!!! the "Minorities"少数民族 ” 钟老师 always said... 哈哈!

Ok gotta! stop now...My Riversidians Modern dancers are competing later... if I don't sleep, they will all look ugly later and they will definitely blame the Dunman CS Dancers... HaHa!
Ya I wish them best of luck and thanks for the surprise birthday party...Love you all...

p/s: Dunman students.. you had granted my bday wishes.. as I only wish for GOLD for your school... forgot about the honours..hmmm... The Honour you had long given to me ... I am honour to be your dance teacher...Love you all..
