Youth Conference 2011

I don't usually blog about my calling but this was an event that I just had to write about... For Youth Conference this year we decided to do a winter one! It was the best decision we have ever made and seriously had the time of our lives. We went to Aspen Grove up by Sundance. We headed up on a Thursday night and when we got there we unpacked, had dinner and then introduced the theme for the YC it was "we believe" which is the theme for the year for the youth program. Then the girls planned some skits and we acted them out. Everyone was such good sports about it and willing to participate. Later we played some games, ate snacks, played some more and then watched a movie and then went to bed. On Friday we woke up had breakfast and then did a service project. We then made hats, bracelets and got ready for lunch. After lunch we went x-country skiing and I don't think I've ever laughed harder in my life. It was so much fun. After that we had free time, played more games and then had dinner. After dinner we went glow in the dark sledding. The snow was so deep up there that you would walk and sink all of the way to your waist. After sledding we had a guest speaker talk to the youth about being true and it was amazing. Following him we had a wii dance off and then went to bed. Saturday morning we had breakfast and then a testimony meeting. It was such a great weekend and a huge boost for all of us. The food and accomodations were amazing and we couldn't have asked for a better Youth Conference. I'm so grateful for my calling and for the opportunities like this that I get to spend with the Youth in my ward.

Our cabin! Notice how tall the snow is in both pictures!

Happy Birthday Abbey

Well I turned the big 32 this year and for some reason I love getting older... not sure if I'll agree with that in ten years. The night before my birthday the Staigers took us out to dinner to celebrate and we had a great time. The day of my birthday Tanna and Koda made sure that I felt extra special. They made me breakfast in bed and made sure they were extra helpful all day. I went to Young Womens for the night and Tanna kept telling me that she was going to make my birthday cake this year. I got home from Young Womens and she had made me a cake out of her easy bake oven. It was made with a lot of love and a lot of sprinkles. It was so sweet of her to do that for me. I had a great birthday with family and friends!
