Leaving on a jet plane.....

Today we left for Washington D.C. We have been counting down this trip for 2 months now. The kids are so excited that we get to ride on a big airplane. We had a little trouble at the airport and barely made our flight... darn internet reservations! We walked on the plane and Koda raised his arms in the air and said this is going to be AWESOME. Everyone on board just laughed. Tanna and Koda did great, they played games, watched movies and loved the drinks and snacks served on the plane. We had a 1-1/2 hour layover in Minneapolis and were able to finally get something to eat. Then back onto the plane and into Reagan National Airport.
As soon as we got there you could feel the humidity instantly. We got our rental car and headed for the house that the Marshall family was staying in. As soon as we got there, the family surprised Tanna and Koda with a cake and ice cream and presents.

Happy Birthday Tanna & Koda

Last night Tanna and Koda decided they wanted to do fireworks for their birthday. We just happen to have some left over and luckily some of our friends stopped by and we were able to enjoy them together.
On their birthday we had a great day! We met Wayne to go shopping for presents and then off to lunch at Applebees. The whole staff sang to them and they loved every minute of it. We headed home to be greeted by some of their aunts and cousins and they were able to help them put their birthday gifts together. Later that night we had Grandma and Grandpa Peterson over for cake. Tanna and Koda wanted to decorate their own cakes and they did a great job. It was a great day and a busy day of getting ready to leave for D.C. the next day.

Bachelorette Party

Wayne's sister Amber is getting married at the end of July in Washington, D.C. The Marshall family came into town for the 4th of July and to help me while I went to camp. Cassie and Hilary planned a girls night out for Amber and we had a great time. First we went to dinner at a place called Spark. They had these fancy non-alcoholic drinks and great food. Next we went shopping for the "honeymoon outfits" which was probably the highlight of the night. There was way too much giggling. Next we went to the movies and watched the proposal. It was a perfect movie to go with the occasion. We had a great night of talking, laughing and just being together. We are all so excited for Amber!
