This was the week of dressing up. Tuesday Tanna dressed up for Dance class and had a princess party. Then Koda had gymnastics on Wednesday and dressed up like a gymnast. Then for school we were able to wear our favorite team shirts. Of course we wore our Nebraska shirts. Then we were able to dress up for Halloween on Thursday.

Painting Koda's room
Koda is getting his own room. Koda picked out these colors and we painted his new room all day Saturday. Thanks goodness for some good helpers; Hilary, Cassie, Tanna & Koda. Tanna and Koda helped put a bottom coat down with writing their names on the wall and drawing all sorts of pictures. Hilary & Cassie helped finish it all up. It took a lot of time but turned out great. Thanks to Hilary who got everything ready with me and always helps when I need to paint something.

Peterson Deer Hunt
We had the annual Peterson Family Deer Hunt. Nobody got a deer so it just turned into a really big sandbox for the kids to play in. We did a lot of eating, sleeping, playing cards and just talking around the campfire. Tanna & Koda had an absolute blast. When we left on Monday they both cried because they didn't want to leave.
We had a bunch of spiders just like these all around the camp.
Tanna playing in the wood barrels.
Look at these dirty kids
Playing cards
Riding bikes in the dirt
Sleeping
Homemade caramel apples
Grandpa taking the grandkids on rides (which usually happened about every hour)

Halloween Fun
On Saturday the power went out for a couple of hours so we wanted to find something fun to do that didn't involve electricity. We headed to my parent's house and grabbed my dad. Then we picked pumpkins at a friend's house, it was so cold that we did it in about 2 minutes and all ran to the car. We decided that we needed to carve of couple of them so Tanna helped clean out the pumpkins and Koda poked holes to trace the designs into the pumpkins. I was the cutter and then Tanna & Koda helped me push the cut pieces through and clean out the pumpkin again. It was a lot of fun and a lot of time.

Where do they get this stuff?
This morning Koda & I were having one of our conversations about his body. Today's topic was the veins in his arms. He was trying to rub them away and I explained that we have veins so blood can go to every part in our body, like the brain. He then told me, "mom, we have little kids in our heads that control us." Then I asked where he got that from and he then told me, "if you look in my eye mom you can see a little kid and he's controlling my brain. " Then I asked do little kids control my brain and he looked into my eyes and said, "Yes, I can see a little boy in there eye." I didn't have the heart to tell him that he's just seeing his own reflection.
About 30 minutes later he came to me and said, "mom can you scratch my back?" So I started to scratch his back and he told me, "there's bees in my back and they are poking me and if you scratch my back they will go away."
WHERE DOES HE COME UP WITH THIS STUFF?

Horsing around!
I know I'm a dork with this title, but I just had to do it. The other night we went to Chris & Stacey's house and rode horses. The kids wouldn't ride by themselves so I had to ride with them. It was really fun until Wayne's horse tripped and threw him straight to the ground. Luckily the horse didn't roll over him and no one was hurt. Got some great pictures!
