well, my mom finally convinced me to do a family caricature this year for our Christmas newsletters, so here it is.

Winter's here

it's been terribly cold down here in Cincinnati, guess thats good preparation for winter break(one more week) in Cleveland. well, here's something I've been working on off and on for a while, something to break up all the studying for finals, it's subzero from the game mortal kombat.brrr.

i think my mind would probably explode if i didn't have some way to take breaks from studying for my finals here's a couple digital caricatures to pass the time, and yes, the second one is me.

here's a continuation of my "there's no such thing" piece. liked the idea and wanted to do a digital painting with one of the characters, so here it is, just a quicky in Painter X.

ok, here's my latest work, a little spoof of Batman and robin, trying to get a cleaner style for my digital work, i think i got what i was trying with this one. after this one i will try to get some more serious, from life, art done so i don't completely forget to draw things realistically, stay tuned(same bat channel same bat time, ha couldn't resist}

more Video games, YEAH!

Here's something i thought i'd never draw, a winged fantasy character. this particular one is Pit from the game "kid Icarus", who will also be showing his wings in the new super smash bros. game. He was a suggestion put up on my slowly dying video game character thread at Drawingboard, so a gave him a try.

another video game character for my thread on drawingboard, this one's Samus Aran from the Metroid games, the first female character in my series. just trying to push my colors and contrast on this piece. this one was really fun and i think it turned out pretty good in the end

here's a digital painting of Gordon freeman, still in anticipation of the new half-life game. tried some new stuff with photoshop and sketchbook pro this time. I've been really really inspired recently by the work of Joe Bluhm and Bobby Chiu, their digital art especially. i've been trying to learn some new techniques and their videos on the internet have been a great help. so here you go.

when i get a prompt or an idea for a piece and i really don't want to put days of work into it,i go for something simple and funny. here's two pics for threads at, you guessed it, drawingboard.org. the first is on the topic "blondes are more fun"



the second is for a character jam of Johann Krause of the BPRD comic, i know nothing about him except hes a psychic that lost his body and is a cloud/puddle of ectoplasm contained in a special suit. the only thing i could think of was ghost busters

here's two pieces i did for the Indiana Jones thread at drawing board,i wasn't too happy at all with the first, hate to PS paint portraits. so i did the second to make myself feel better. also this is sort of in anticipation of the new Indiana Jones movie coming soon
