Simple Birthday

Happy Friday!!!  It's time for a new challenge from the Cut It Up Challenge Blog.  This week, the challenge is: CAS

Here is my card for your inspiration:
Confession:  I have a whole, entire, large box of crafty items that I have never used and I've had them for probably 3 years (most of them anyway).  I've been thinking that I should just pull items out and use them instead of reaching for the things I use all the time.  So, while I was digging around in the box, I found this beautiful die set from Altenew.  I wasn't quite sure how to use it, so I went to the webstore and looked it up and found so much beautiful inspiration.    I die cut both layers from white card stock and then I inked up the underlayer with purple ink for the flowers and green ink for the leaves.  My small blending brushes were dirty, so it was a little challenging to get ink to be where I wanted it, but the white frame helps hide some of the overlap.  Then I trimmed out a little section for my sentiment (which I had to stack on top of itself instead of using it in a line as is intended.  I stamped the sentiment on a white card base and adhered the two layers of die cut to it.  Added some tiny purple pearls for interest.  I think it actually looks more CAS than it really is, but it reads simple in my book at least.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you will hop over to the Cut It Up blog for the full details of the challenge and to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.

Yappy Day

Hello, everyone!  It's time for the mid-month reminder for the challenge from the Creative Moments Challenge blog.  The theme is a sketch:

I am using an image from one of our fabulous sponsor, Pattie's Creations.

 Here is my card:

Oh, my goodness!!  Isn't he the cutest??  My brother-in-law is on his second Frenchie and they are just adorable (in a funny looking kind of way)!  I made this for my nephew who is turning 10 this week.  I just realized as I typed that thought, that I should have added some "10" elements to the card as it is kind of a big deal to reach double digits!  Oh, well, maybe I'll get it right for the next one!  I used some fun, bright scraps on this one and a punny sentiment and finished it all off with some bright yellow enamel dots!
You have all month to play along.  So, get inky and link up your creation; I can't wait to see what you create!

Supplies:
Stamps: Pattie's Creations "French Bulldog" digi; Sweet n' Sassy Stamps "Cute Critters" sentiment

Merry Christmas

Happy Friday!!!  It's time for a new challenge from the Cut It Up Challenge Blog.  This week, the challenge is: Christmas in July

Here is my card for your inspiration:
Christmas cards are probably my favorite type of card to make, probably because I love Christmas so much!!  A couple months ago, I won a prize package from Not 2 Shabby that included two beautiful paper packs and a matching set of ephemera for each.  For today's card, I pulled out two sheets of paper, die cut a rectangle from each sheet and then cut the rectangles in half so I could use two different patterns on two different cards.  This way, they both have the stitching from the rectangle die.  I added a piece of wide satin ribbon across the join to hide it.  Then I die cut a fancy frame out of gold paper.  It's actually a solid piece, but I cut out the inside with a craft knife to create the frame.  Then I heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder onto a piece of white card stock, adhered a piece of ornament ephemera and glued the whole piece behind the frame.  Then I die cut  the layers of the poinsettia, inked the embossed veins and adhered them all together and glued on the card.  I finished everything off with some gold Nuvo drops.  Unfortunately, I forgot I had added them and was not being careful with the card and accidently smeared several of the drops with another piece of paper.  So, I carefully cleaned up the edges and remade them as best as I could.  I ended up with a few more in the bottom corner because I had to cover up some rogue spots.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you will hop over to the Cut It Up blog for the full details of the challenge and to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.

Cow are you?

Happy May 1st!!  It's time for a new challenge on the Critter Crazy Challenge blog!  As always, it is a month long challenge: Anything Goes as long as you feature a creature.  Here is my card for your inspiration:

I just love this sentiment paired with a cow image (and this particular image is so adorable!)!!  It's just too fun!  Overall this was a pretty quick and simple card which was just what I was going for!  I die cut both layers of the "hello" sentiment, stamped, colored and fussy cut the cow, adhered everything in place and stamped the rest of the sentiment and then finished it all off with some little pink hearts.  This is the first time I have used this "hello" die set and it definitely won't be the last! (Actually, based on chronological order of how my scheduled blog posts will post, this card will be posted after another card using the same die.  But this card was actually the first to use it.)

Thanks for stopping by!  Hop on over to the Critter Crazy blog and check out the details and the rest of the projects from the Design Team.
