Joy to the World

It's Saturday!!  That means it's time for another challenge from Di's Digi Designs.

The challenge this time is: Embossing (either wet or dry)
And here is my card for your inspiration:

So, I embossed my white panel with a script embossing folder and then swiped some gold metallic gilding polish across the raised part to make it stand out and add some color to the panel.  I heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder.  That way I included both forms of embossing on my card.  With the glitter paper and the gold sequins it is very shiny and sparkly.
I hope you will get a chance to play along with us; I can't wait to see what you create.  And make sure you hop over to the Di's Digital Designs blog to see what the rest of the team has made for this challenge.

It's almost Christmas

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps.  This week is: LOL (snarky or funny)

And here is the card I created:
I went a little to the snarky side.  I haven't used this set a whole lot because I try not to do too much "potty humor", but I really couldn't resist.  It actually started with a fun sketch I saw (see my challenge list below) which led me to a slimline card and this larger sized sentiment.  And of course, I had to add the outhouse.  I free-hand cut my my snowbank and traced it onto my background panel.  I stamped the pine tree repeatedly across the tree line with Black Soot Distress oxides so they would be visible but also blend in a little.  I stamped the tree again twice with a pine green ink and then sponged blue ink around the edges to blend them into the background.  I stamped, colored and fussy cut the outhouse.  I stamped the main sentiment with versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I adhered the snowbank, trees and outhouse in place and then splatted on some white paint to look like snow.  I added a little bit of blue marker to make a "path" to the outhouse.  I stamped the rest of the sentiment with navy ink, fussy cut it out and adhered it with some foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you head on over to The House blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this challenge.  And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over in my lift sidebar.

Trick or Treat

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps.  This week, the challenge is: No Tricks, Just Treats (Treat Holder or card--Halloween or otherwise).

And here is what I created:
I don't celebrate Halloween, so I decided to create a Christmas themed treat holder.  I actually made them for a workshop I hosted for Operation Christmas Child project leaders.  (You can learn more about Operation Christmas Child here.)  Since it has Christmas in the title, the favors had to be Christmas themed, of course!  I found this idea on Pinterest and set about creating my own.  I started with small kraft sandwich bags and splatted them with watered down white craft paint.  After they dried, I flipped them over (and upside down) and used my mini MISTI to stamp "I'm so glad there's you" along the top edge that would get folded down.  Using the MISTI made it so easy to get the stamp lined up properly and to stamp multiple bags quickly.  I purchased the wooden snowflakes on Amazon; they came with the twine, I just had to tie it onto the top of the ornaments.  Unfortunately, they seem to be out of stock right now.  I punched two holes through all the layers of the flap using the sentiment as a guide.  To finish it off (after filling with goodies, of course!) I tied on the snowflake using some red, dotted grossgrain ribbon.  I have a lot of the elements left over, so they will probably be making an appearance with some yummy treats come Christmas time.
Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you head on over to The House blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this challenge.  And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over in my lift sidebar.

Hello, Gorgeous

It's Saturday!!  That means it's time for another challenge from Di's Digi Designs.

The challenge this time is: Creepy or Cute
And here is my card for your inspiration:
I don't do creepy, so I went with cute!  This little cutie is all dressed up in her 1920's flapper costume.  Isn't she a beauty!!??  This is probably my favorite girl image from Di's Digi Stamps.  I colored the image, die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die and then die cut the "gorgeous" directly from the colored panel.  I die cut another word out of white card stock and then out of dark blue and adhered them all together to give dimension.  I then adhered it all back into place on the card panel, after stamping the "hello" just above where the die cut sentiment would be.  I added liquid pearls to her string of pearls and then finished the card off with three tiny white pearls before adhering the whole thing to a dark blue card base.
I hope you will get a chance to play along with us; I can't wait to see what you create.  And make sure you hop over to the Di's Digital Designs blog to see what the rest of the team has made for this challenge.

Celebrating You

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built.  This week the challenge is: Feature a Creature.

And here is the card I created:
With it being fall and all the fall-themed challenges around, I just had to add some pumpkins and leaves to my card!  I started by stamping the falling leaves in a caramel ink onto kraft card stock.  Then I stamped my pumpkins on scraps of patterned paper, added a little shading with markers and fussy cut them out.  I die cut some leaves out of scraps from the same paper pack.  I inked around the edges of the leaves with the caramel ink to bring them out from the background.  I also stamped, the cat, once onto white card stock and once onto a another scrap from that paper pack so I could cut out the ribbon and add it onto the other image after I had colored it.  I cut out the entire image and added it onto the sentiment panel.  I think this will make a great birthday card or even a just thinking of you card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you head on over to The House blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this challenge.  And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over in my lift sidebar.

Prescription

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built.  This week is timely one: Think Pink (in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month).

And here is the card I created:

This card is almost made out of completely recycled elements.  I had a card that I made years ago and had never ended up sending it to anyone.  It needed a little "help" to bring it more up to date, if you know what I mean.  The pink panel was actually the original card base.  I die cut it with a stitched rectangle die and dry embossed it with a damask embossing folder.  Afterwards, I lightly blended some white ink over the embossing to make it stand out a bit more.  The layered element was the focal point of the original card.  There were two more layered pieces but they didn't work for this card, so I will have them leftover to use on another card.  I added the turquoise layers to add more contrast.  The bit of turquoise ribbon was left over from another project.  I stamped, colored and fussy cut the image and adhered it to the center of the layered element with phone tape.  Added some pink gems and adhered it all to a white card base.  I really like how it turned out and it was a great way to recycle that old card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Make sure you head on over to The House blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with this challenge.  And if you "need" any of the stamps I used, check out my 10% off your entire order coupon code over in my lift sidebar.

Blast from the Past

It's my turn to share my Pick of the Week with you today.  I'm going to take you way back to July of 2015 for this one!  This card is the very first one I shared as a designer for Repeat Impressions and The House That Stamps Built!  I was so honored to have Wendy ask me to join her team and I am still so honored that she has let me continue as one of her designers for 6 years now!!  Thank you, Wendy!  Here is the card:

This airplane image is so perfect for masculine card!  And I remember having fun stamping it with red ink instead of the usual black ink.  I think it adds a little bit to the more vintage feel.  It was July 1st that this card was first published, so the red, white and blue color combo is very fitting.  I also find it to be a great color combo for masculine cards, even when they are not being sent out around the 4th of July.  Looking back on old cards can be rather embarrassing, but I still really like this one!  It's inspiring me to pull out this stamp and use it for masculine cards I need to make.  I hope this brief look back in time will inspire you to go back and revisit some earlier cards from your card making journey.    Maybe you like them exactly as they are, or maybe you have grown and can think of a way to improve them.  The stamps I used on this card are "Bi-plane Silhouette" and "Dreams take Flight".

Sweet Friends

It's Saturday!!  That means it's time for another challenge from Di's Digi Designs.

The challenge this time is: Mermaids, Fairies, or Angels
And here is my card for your inspiration:
I used these two sweet little fairies sitting out reading together.  They are just so sweet!  And by changing up their clothing colors, you could make them perfect for any season.  I chose to use some fall colors and create a fall themed card using some scraps from a fall paper pack.  I added some gold glitter Nuvo shimmer pen on their wings to create some sparkle and shine.  You can see it better in the photo below

I hope you will get a chance to play along with us; I can't wait to see what you create.  And make sure you hop over to the Di's Digital Designs blog to see what the rest of the team has made for this challenge.

Place cards

A new month has arrived and that means a new challenge from the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog.  This month's challenge is Anything But a Card.

And here is what I created:
Thanksgiving is coming quickly, so I decided to create some place setting cards.    They're super cute AND a great way to use up some scraps.  I die cut the solid leaves from some scrap orange card stock and inked the edges with some red ink.  Then, I die cut the detail leaves from a gold paper and adhered them on top of the orange leaves.  I die cut the main panel out of kraft card stock and inked the edges with some caramel ink.  Then I stamped the names--a little time consuming but worth it!  I adhered everything to a kraft base and finished them off with red nuvo drops for a little "berry" look.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Head on over to the LTSCB blog to see what the rest of the team has created and to get the full details of the challenge.  Then get inky and play along with us; I can't wait to see what you create.
