Here it is November and that means it is time for a new challenge from the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog.

Here is my card for your inspiration:

 I started off with  the "Leaf Prints" stencil and some Metallic Gilding Polish on my base layer.  I also used the Gilding Polish on my die cut "gorgeous" (which was die cut 4 times and glued together for some awesome dimension!).  As I was contemplating what I wanted to do, I remembered some tiny cream colored lace in my stash and thought it would be perfect to embellish the curved edge of the top layer.  The script die cut leaf was in my bits and pieces stash so I die cut two more leaves to go along with it.  I stamped the "Hello" sentiment and finished everything off with some copper/dark orange sequins.  The photo below shows the gorgeous shine from the gilding paste; I am just loving this stuff!

Little Birdie

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built.  As it is the 5th Wednesday of the month, we have a fabulous sketch for your inspiration:

And here is the card I created:

 I created a fun interactive card for a young teen boy at our church.  The stamp set is designed to work on a swing card, but I've found there are a lot of different ways to use these types of sets.  I have the first image and sentiment (which I cut apart from the image so I could use it in different ways) on the front of a little pocket I created.  Into the pocket I place a little card with a pull tab.

 After you pull it out, you find the second image and second sentiment:

 I so love the smug look on this cats face!  He definitely enjoyed that little bird!  On the inside I used the rest of the sentiment (it is part of the cat image, but I masked it so I could add only the sentiment) and added a lighter stamping of the bird for some interest.

African Violets

I was given this beautiful African Violet image from Digi Stamps 4 Joy to work with:

When I first saw it, I was thinking of coloring it twice and piecing the images together to create some dimension.  And then, I thought how pretty it would look if it were paper pieced with patterned paper.  And it is beautiful!!  The bit of tulle was recycled from a piece that had ripped off one of my daughters' dresses a couple years ago and two of the lacy border pieces were in my bits and pieces stash; I just die cut two more to balance it out.  It will probably be a birthday card, but I didn't have room on the front for a sentiment, so it can be for any occasion, really.

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built.  This week is a fan favorite: Anything Goes!  

Here is what I created for your inspiration:

Isn't it cute!?  I had the pumpkin stamped on white card stock in my bits and pieces stash and I thought it would look really fun paper pieced, and it does!  I embossed the bottom paper layer with a woodgrain embossing folder to add to the outdoorsy feel.  The paper cracked a little, but I thought it added a fun rustic look.

Robot Birthday

A young boy at our church (my daughters' best buddy) turned 10 last week.   This is the fun card I created for him:

 Boys love robots and things like that, and since my girls all thought it was cool, I'm pretty sure he will too.  Specially when you pull the "pull" tab and the sides slide out!

 The background paper is a fun, textured silver paper which is really, really hard to photograph well.  But I thought it worked perfectly with the mechanical theme.

 To finish off the inside, I added a sentiment and then a cascading row of numbers down the side in a pale gray.  I really like the subtle look.

Just sayin' hi

It's Saturday!!  That means it's time for another challenge from Di's Digi Designs.

The challenge this time is:  Creepy or cute
And here is my card for your inspiration:

As you can see I went with cute!  I don't celebrate, so creepy wasn't really an option, but all of Di's images are ADORABLE so it was very easy to do cute!  This sweet image I have had for quite a while and haven't colored it up yet.  It is very long and wouldn't have fit well on a regular sized card (at least printed out as large as I printed it), but I have several card blanks that someone had given me that are all about the right size to fit in a business sized envelope.  That's what I ended up using here and the long image fits it perfectly!  All of the leaves were in my bits and pieces stash--I had die cut them for a Thanksgiving project the kids in our Sunday School classes at church did last year--and they were all out of these really bright card stocks.  But with a little inking around the edges, I think they turned out really beautiful!  I used a fun sentiment from Cardz Tv that just cracks me up with this image.

Falling Leaves

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps.  This week we have a beautiful inspiration photo for you:

And here is the card I created:

 The inspiration photo is so beautiful; I love the softness of the leaves.  They look almost translucent.  I tried to capture that softness by using vellum for both my large leaf and the top layer of my tag.  I stamped the leaf on vellum with an orange ink and then restamped on top with red ink sponged around the edges.  Orange-y red leaves are my favorite!  Using my mini MISTI makes it really easy to do this technique.  I also used the MISTI to stamp the sentiment several times on the tag so it would be dark enough to stand out against the background of the patterned tag.  I sponged some tea dye ink around the edges of the book print paper to add some dimension and I stamped the scattered leaves along the bottom using my copper Gilding Paste (which is quickly becoming one of my favorite products!).  In the photo below you can see how shiny the leaves are.  It looks like they are embossed without all the effort (and the buckling paper I always get with heat embossing)!!

Beautiful Cameo

I was given this gorgeous image from Morgan's Art World to work with:

Isn't she stunning!!??

As you can see, she really inspired glitz and glam on my card: gold card stock, glittered card stock, and glittery roses.  I used some clear Wink of Stella on the flowers on her hat which inspired all the other glittery goodness.  The roses were made with Heartfelt Creations Classic Roses and matching dies and I added some small white flowers I bought at a yard sale this summer.  And I used up the bit of red diamond ribbon, I so love being able to use stuff up!  I embossed the red panel and then used silver Glitter Kiss (from Stamplistic) to swipe on the glitter on the raise elements.

Fall birthday

Happy Wednesday!!  It's time for another challenge from The House That Stamps Built and this week we have a fun tic tac toe board for you:

I used the center row: buttons, stitching (I used a stitched die) and color wash.  Here is my card:

 I used gelatos mixed with water to create my color wash on watercolor paper for my image panel.  Then, I stamped the image on top and colored it with my markers.  I masked my sentiment to line the words up side by side instead of stacked on top of each other.  The olive green ribbon was a small piece left in my bits and pieces stash, but it worked perfectly for the embellishments after I added some kraft colored ribbon to go along with it.  The photo below shows the stitched rectangle a bit better.

Thinking of you

It's Saturday!!  That means it's time for another challenge from Di's Digi Designs.

The challenge this time is: Include a Pumpkin
And here is my card for your inspiration:

 I used an image that has a pumpkin, patterned paper with lots of pumpkins and die cut pumpkin vines and leaves; got those pumpkins covered!!  Last month at the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo, I purchased some copper gilding paste from Stamplistic.  I thought copper would be a perfect accent to my Fall image and papers, so I used the gilding paste to cover my card base, the scalloped circle die cut and the leaf/vine dies cuts.  I'm hooked and in love!!  Now I can have copper card stock just by using this with white paper (even scraps for the leaves/vines!)  Now I'm trying to figure out how to get me some gold and silver and then I'd never have to buy metallic paper again!!  This next photo shows a bit more of the copper shine:

The tag was in my bits and pieces stash, I think I stamped it for a project for our kids Sunday School class last year.  The ribbon was just a small scrap that I was able to stretch  to fit what I needed.  Now it's all gone.  The papers were all scraps, too, so it's a scrappy card!
