They called him Laughter.
What would Abraham had thought when he looked up into the night sky, remembering the promise from God?
"I will make you the father of many nations, your descendants will be as numerous as the stars."
For an old man nearing a 100, and eyeing that old lady of a wife - that would border on the ridiculous.
And what folly he committed when he took Hagar in, trying to hasten the promise of God!
Important truths I've learnt from Abraham is:
1. God will never fail in His promise.
2. Don't try to play God, in His time He will fulfill what He has promised.
3. God often work beyond our logic; that is why He's God.
Old man + old barren woman = child of the promise?!?!
Sounds like a celestial joke.
Yet in their old age, God gave them Isaac (Laughter), and brought joy into their lives.
4. God's fulfillment of His promises in His time brings us laughter. =)
