Do you ever notice that when you are about to eat something you shouldn't for some reason you drop it, but more than that, it's like some invisible person is knocking it out of your hand? Well that happens to me quite often, in fact just the other day when I was really wanting to eat good. It made me wonder if angels are helping me on my efforts to eat right and knock things or sabotage it in some way so I can't. For instance, right now I am sitting at work and I only have 2 babies that are with their moms so I am slightly bored. I found some frozen cookies in the freezer and for the first time decided to try them and decided a minute would be good to cook them in the microwave. Well, when the smoke started coming out of the back, I knew I had over estimated the cooking time! I opened the door and great flumes of smoke piled out into our very closed in space of a break room toward the sprinklers of the fire alarms! Panicking that the sprinklers were going to start spraying me I started to fan the air with the door (to another closed in hallway)! Just then the dinging of the fire alarm through the whole hospital started, so I ran and asked someone what to do and they told me to call the operator, which I did and told her my story. So no code red to the nursery was announced, but it did take quite a while for the dinging to stop :( All the drs and nurses were laughing about it, I offered to be sent home, but here I am still bored, but embarrassed to go around where everyone is giving me dirty looks knowing I'm the cause of the whole department smelling like burnt cookies! So what do you think, did someone try to tell me something about eating cookies???

The best christmas!
Every year after christmas, everyone asks, "how was your christmas?" And the more I thought about it, the more I realized that I think this is the best christmas I can think of in a long time. The last few years there was always something to make us all a little stressed. Family issues, Rhett's cancer scare, me in school, or something. This year every member of our family is doing very well, I didn't have school to worry about, our health is good...and probably more that made it just enjoyable to remember how well we are blessed. Cherie and Kevin have blessed us so much by coming up for christmas. I don't even know how different our "adult" christmas would be because by the time Nathan started to be more of an , Cherie has shared her kids to make it so much more fun. Mason was the funnest this year, so anxious for Santa to come, we had to look up on the internet every 15 minutes to see where he was. He left a ton of cookies and carrots for the reindeer and tried very hard to get to sleep so Santa wouldn't pass us by! Xander was also so cute this year, he loved all his presents and also the boxes they came in! I love his one-sided dimple with his crooked smile as he says "cheeese" :) Noel didn't show much emotion, but is such an angel to be in our home right now. She and her mom looked so cute in their own little christmas picture. Brycen and Nathan loved their wii and all the accessories they got. They were a little surprised to think that I finally gave in to the no video game rule! Maybe it has to do with the dance dance revolution and wii fit that inticed me! We have all enjoyed all the games on it this break. All in all, I really enjoyed this family time we had, and the great blessings we have. It always overwhelmes me to think of how lucky we are! Especially for all the wonderful people we have known in our lives!

New Year's Resolution
Ever since I graduated from school I have wanted to keep in touch more with my friends and family by writing more, also to keep a journal for the first time probably in 7 yrs. So to assist in that goal I will continue what my sister started for me by writing on this blog and hopefully those interested will read what I have to say. I have enjoyed my sister's and daughters post, so I've decided it's finally time for me to write instead of just reading everyone else's! The last 3 months since I remodeled Nicole's room and nursery, (which you can see on her blog which is at http://lovelylifeofmine.blogspot.com ) have been pretty busy with her and her birth, and brand new baby. It has been quite emotional to see her journey through this motherhood thing, but she has gotten pretty efficient at it all and is needing me less and less. Noel is a doll, I love her a lot. She is very attached to her great mom though, which is how it should be. I have also been to Utah during Thanksgiving week, visiting with some of my siblings. We also had Noel's blessing there so more family could be a part of it. It was very nice to have all of those there. Then, since Nicole was on maternity leave, I decided to take advantage of it and took her to San Francisco to visit my sister who lives near there. It was a very nice visit, and Nicole and I braved the BART into San Fran all by ourselves and did the whole tour thing. It was a great adventure! So that catches me up until christmas which I will post a separate post for.

The Baby Room
I am busy remodeling my granddaughter's nursery, so you probably won't be seeing much serious blogging for a while. I will get some pictures posted as soon as I have it done, though!
