A week with Grandpa...

Dear Grandpa,

Thank you for coming to visit this last week! We hope we didn't give you anymore gray hair after all the tantrums we threw at the park. We also hope you don't find the mashed up cheerios in your suitcase. And we really hope you can peacefully sleep-in after barging in your room at 5am and pounding on your belly.

Thank you for my new bike. I'm so sorry about the "toe incident" that took place 3 minutes after this picture. I know you don't think it's broken but I really think you should have it looked at by a doctor.

We can't wait to help you bake more bread next time you come. We promise not to turn the mixer on "high" right after you dump all the flour in.

Love you the mostest,

Matani and Naish

Another Reader Project.

Remember my"not quite right" sunburst mirror? It went from this: To this:

To this:

Well, Miss Tamstyles ran with my idea and created this:

Bravo!
I get so tickled to seeyour projects!
Have I inspired you to do a project? I want to see your creation!

Reader project.

I don't like to be outdone. But Jordan Krogman outdid me.

I stumbled upon her photography blog this morning and found this.
The yellow and gray shades are spot on. Even her little gal is appropriately coordinated.

Dang, she's good.

I'm totally flattered that she took my idea and ran with it. As you remember, my wall didn't turn out so well and we later wallpapered over it.

So Jordan, you win. And props to you for a fantastic job!

Nurturing Creativity.

I stopped on by my gal's blog this morning and found this discussion that Elizabeth Gilbert (best known for her best-selling book, "Eat, Pray, Love") did for TED on Nurturing Creativity. I've been pondering her thoughts all morning and can't get it out of my head.

Thank you Haydee for posting this video and giving me lots of inspiring things to think about!

Your thoughts?

R.I.P. Dell

No wonder my computer died on me last week. I would have had a heart attack too if my innards looked like this.

In other events, I about went in to cardiac arrest when this little man wiped out his skateboard. Oh, the screaming and crying when he stood up, blood running down his face! A round of heart attacks for everyone...on the house.

Buds.

For all the brotherly bickering that goes on between these two, my heart melts when the stars align and they decide for a few brief moments...
that the love each other.

Woke up this morning to find that lil' bro had crawled in bed with big bro.
It doesn't get better than that.

Yellow and black obssesion.

Yellow is one color I would have never dreamed of ever decorating with. Conjures up memories of my dad's 70's style kitchen with gold/yellow formica countertops. In fact, I'm not quite that fond of the color by itself. Pair it with some black or gray and now it's all over my house.

Promise found this cabinet at Savers for $80.00! I'm loving her addition of the gray stripes and spray painted pink horse !

I'm desperately looking for the fabric used on the window shade. Gold star for the person who comes up with the source?

Thrift store lamps.

For the past two months I've been eyeing these lamps at my favorite thrift store. They were priced at $50.00 for the pair which was an okay price but still kind of pricey for a thrift store.

Then I saw the same exact lamp featured on Decorno (work of Angie Hranowsky) and I knew I had to go back and snatch them up (if they were still there). To my suprise it was "Half Priced Monday" on all lamps and picutres. So I got them for $12.50 each! SA-WEET!

Also, thanks to Suertica for spotting these nifties at Decorpad.

Sucked in.

3 guesses as to what the holidays have consisted of.
1. "Just one more chapter."
2. "Is it already 3:00am?"
3. "Edward"...swoon!
After I turned down three invitations to go see New Moon a friend finally loaned me the Twighlight book and told I HAD to read it. So that I did. In two days. Then straight to Blockbuster to rent the movie. And then the next book. In two more days. Then I went and saw the movie BY MYSELF.
So much for my elaborate plans to do all kinds of home projects. I may be m.i.a. for the next couple of weeks while I stay up all night devouring the next two books.
P.S. Happy New Year!
