I am having so much fun with my son! He was hyper today and we took these pictures at the house....but they made me think of those mall booth thingys that I did in high school. We, as a family, are enjoying life! I mean, ya'll are going to have to keep up with reading my blog because I post so much!!

I love my mommy
Usually i'm the one behind the camera so I don't get many pictures of me and my son. So here are a few shots with my big boy! The first one was me just playing around with him, the second one was yesterday when we took a nap together, the other two are just showing his adorableness (is that a word?) and his chunky thighs!!!!

Good Book
I am currently reading a book that I highly recommend. It is called "In the Presense of my Enemies" and it is about the capture of the missionary couple in 2001 in the Philippines. I remember seeing their picture in the news but I didn't recall the story. They were captured by terrorists that were connected to Osama bin Laden and were held for ransom. They lived over a year as hostages in the jungle. Their story is amazing and I know I wouldn't have had the faith that they did in their situation. Some very sad things happen and they truly suffered. If you get a chance you need to read it. I can't even imagine going through what they did. The husband ended up dying but the wife is living and wrote the book. May God be glorified and others come to Him through their story.

A little bit of this and a little bit of that
Hello! Well I don't really have anything in particular that I want to write about... so here's a hodge podge of thoughts. I like summer time. Even though I am a stay-at-home mom, I still feel like we're on summer vacation. In 2 weeks my husband and I are going back to the camp we met at. He is speaking for a week to about 180 7th-9th graders. I am so excited to take our son and enjoy being out at a Christ-centered camp on a beautiful lake. I am looking forward to taking my boy out into the lake. I hope he likes it, even though he is a bit young to truly have fun and enjoy being a boy in the outdoors. At the end of July my husbands side of the family is taking a vacation to Lake James which is in Western North Carolina. I am looking forward to that too, because we are going to have a blast with my adorable nephew Jackson and my brother and sister-in-law as well as my teenage nieces. I need to do the thing that girls dread the most... BATHING SUIT SHOPPING! I got my body comp done today at the gym. In the past 8 weeks I have trimmed up from working out at the gym, but i'm still a long ways from where I want to be. The scale hasn't moved much, but i've lost an inch from around my waist. I was at 30% body fat, now i'm down to 26%. I really did well over all so I am happy, but I know if I changed my eating habits better then my weight loss would have been better. So I need to go pick out a suit for going to camp and the lake. My old suits are still a little snug and they are getting old. Except suits can be so expensive and I don't want to spend a lot if I am still planning on losing more weight. Well I have to cut this short because my precious son is getting fussy.... it's nap time. Until next time....

Formula
Why it took 3 months to figure out what i'm about to tell you i'm not really sure. Enfamil Lipil with Iron is the EXACT SAME as Target brand formula with iron. Except Enfamil is $23.99 a can and Target is $11.99. Now I remember comparing the two when I first had to stop breast feeding and they weren't...but i'm wondering now if I looked at the wrong column or the wrong kind. So I was VERY excited that I took the time to stop today and compare the two again. So I stocked up!!!! I also stocked up on all sorts of baby food flavors for when our son is ready for jar food. I can't wait to feed him and see his reaction to new food. I bought peas, carrots, green beans, squash, sweet potatoes, bananas, prunes (i'll use those when he's constipated), applesauce, and pears. It is so fun to be in the new stages of his life.

Rice cereal.... a success
Ok, so our first rice cereal feeding attempt was a successful one. He loved it! The pediatrician said that he probably wouldn't take it, if he took any he would eat like 2 spoonfuls, and even then he would probably push it out with his tongue. WELL, he ate like his whole bowl full, even started fussing when it couldn't get into his mouth fast enough. He did SO well! He ate pretty good off the spoon, pretty much sucked it off... I know he will master spoon eating very soon. I have to say I am very happy and proud with the way it went. We even got some pictures and videos of it. Good job son! I can't wait to see you eat jar food!

4 month check up
Well my beast of a son had his 4 month check up. He is above 97% for all babies his age in his length- he is 27.5 inches long. He is in the 90% for his weight- he is 17 lbs 7 ounces. He got his shots today which always makes me sad to watch although I know it is for his good. He is such a good baby and I am so thankful for him. He is able to start on rice cereal now and in a month he can start on baby food. I can't believe how fast time is flying by. My husband and I never knew we could love our baby this much. We praise God for the gift he decided to give to us!!!!! We love you booger!
(This picture is from a week or so ago when he started holding his blanket while sleeping- he is waking up from a nap in this picture with a tint of a smile underneath his paci)

We're Moving!
It's official. We are moving closer to where our church is...which will save an hour drive several times a week! This is also a good thing because we will be closer to our family as well. This is a much needed move and we are definitely stepping out in faith trusting that the Lord will provide for our needs. My husband and I are very excited because this has been something on our heart and minds for a while now and it is finally coming to fruition. YAY! Moving is also fun because it forces you to clean out and get organized again. I am hoping this will become true in our belongings. I look forward to cleaning out and getting rid of things we don't need or use any more. I'm sure you'll hear much more of this current event in our lives....

Durham Bulls
Yesterday our church went to a Durham Bulls baseball game. We had lots of fun despite the heat! At one point the park thermometer read 100 degrees. My baby boy did great! He slept through a lot of the game. The heat just zapped him. Good thing we were sitting in the shade and there was a slight breeze. My husband and I enjoyed a hotdog and we split nachos and an ice cream. He also ate peanuts, but i'm not much of a fan. Anyhow, here are some pictures from the event!

Comment Snobs
I'm sad that I eagerly check my blog to see if anyone comments on me and my adorable family and I get zero, zip, zilch comments. (sniff sniff) Oh well, my son is still my biggest fan he smiles at me even when unsolicited.

We love reading!
My baby boy loves when I read to him. Add it to the list of why he is so adorable and why I love him. He sits so still and looks at the book pages. We even have video of him "reading" to his granddaddy. He was jabbering away as he was looking at a book. Just wanted to brag on him and show a picture of my boy in action.

Top Ten List
While picking up my son from his nap I was thinking about all the things I love about him, so I wanted to do a top ten list of reasons why I love him.
- His adorable smile
- His laugh
- The way he has learned to snuggle with a blanket
- The way he smiles when I go to pick him up in the mornings from his crib
- The way he nuzzles his face into my neck when he's tired
- The way he holds my pinky when he is taking his bottle
- He is so easy going and happy
- The way you can see him smile in his eyes before his face ever makes a smile
- His squeal of delight
- His bald head and chubby legs
When thinking of my list for my son I decided to make one for my husband because I love and adore him too.
- His smile
- His laugh
- The way we do stupid things to have fun like wrestling, tickling, and running around our apartment playing tag
- His passion for God and the ministry
- The way he adores our baby boy
- His wisdom and encouragement
- His eyes and the way his eyes "smile" when he's trying to be serious and make me think that he's not laughing or amused at my sillyness
- The way he wants to provide and care for our family
- He is so easy going and doesn't get flustered or riled up like me
- His humor and love for being happy
So if our son turns out anything like his daddy then watch out girls because he's gonna be an AMAZING man. I LOVE YOU BOTH!!!!!!

Race for the Cure
Yesterday we participated in a breast cancer 5K race. It was so much fun! It was our first race ever. There were over 20,000 people there so it was a little insane. The race had started but because there were so many people we didn't actually start moving for 15 minutes. There was a man finishing the race right when we were starting to walk! We walked so slow at first because there were so many people. Then my husband and I started weaving in and out of people and jumped up on a side walk and ran some. Then in the middle of the race my precious son started crying because he was hungry. So we whipped out a bottle and fed him as we walked... that was interesting to say the least. So here are some pictures from race day. It was a blast and we hope to do another one. (Notice the nice jogger we bought the night before, I LOVE it!!!! It is an early Christmas gift from my parents, Thank you!)

He's growing up too fast
So I went in to get my precious boy the other morning and he was turned sideways in his crib and his bottom snap was unsnapped because his outfit is too small for him now. It was so cute to see him like that.
Here is another picture of what seems to be the trend lately. My precious son is in the beginning stages of teething and there is ALWAYS something in his mouth. (Or like in this picture close to his mouth because he is still trying to perfect the art of getting objects in his mouth) He woke up at 3:45 this morning crying and I had to give him tylenol because I am pretty sure his little gums were sore. He hasn't woken up in the night like that for like 7 weeks. We are enjoying him more and more these days. I wish I could post videos because we just got a really cute one of him laughing and smiling because daddy was tickling him.
