Memorial Day
Here are some pictures from Memorial Day. We had an ice cream churn off at a couple's house. It was a warm day but we had a blast! All the toddlers had fun in the kiddie pool and the adults had fun playing baseball. Next year he'll be jumping in the pool too. Although, he's not too sure about his new sun hat.

Photos
Here are some pictures of "tummy time" on his favorite play mat that grammy and papa got him for Easter. You need to get one if you have a baby, they are from Target and it is a 3 in 1 play center. The little toys come off and hook onto a thing that sits over him if he lays on his back on the mat and then the mat will eventually convert into a short tunnel when he is old enough to crawl. Anyhow, he loves it!
Mother's Day
What a wonderful first Mother's Day! I probably conceived my baby around last Mother's Day, who knows?! Because he is turning 3 months old tomorrow and you are actually pregnant for almost 10 months. So there's some useless information for you... now onto sharing about Mother's Day.
Saturday my husband came home from work with pink and white lilies for me! They were beautiful! They are still looking great in a vase on our coffee table. He then told me that he had arranged for his dad and step mom to babysit for us so we could go out to eat and go to a movie. Well we tried to go to a really good Japanese place around here that we love but when we got there there was seriously like 100 people waiting. So we went to an Italian place right down the road. It was good, but we filled up on salad, breadsticks, and an appetizer and had to take our whole meals home in a to-go box. We ended up not making it to the theater but it was a great date night anyway and we rushed home to see our baby before he was put down to sleep for the night.
Then to top off Mother's Day, we had a baby dedication on Sunday. One other couple and us were dedicating our babies to be raised up in a Christian household. It was a very sweet time. We started off the service with a video of people around the church telling why their mother's were special. Then we stood up and read a letter we had written to our babies. What a wonderful precious time. My husband had to read it or I would have been bawling, he ended up crying some too though. Then we watched a slide show with pictures of our babies from the time they were born until now and then we made a vow, got a certificate and a little blue new testament bible. It was sweet. I know we don't need a formal service like that to show everyone how we want to raise our child according to biblical principles, but it was a neat time that the church could share with us. My dad came to church for that which was great to have our family there. We also had my husbands mom, sister and family. So it was a great Mother's Day!
Neat fact: Our precious boy is now starting to laugh and become ticklish. No longer does he stare at us like "what the heck are you doing" when we try to tickle him, but he is starting to really laugh out loud which is SOOOOOO fun! We are enjoying him so much right now. I can't believe all the fun things we have to look forward to!
p.s. I have a wonderful husband whom I love with all my heart! He has made this Mother's Day a special one! Thank you sweetie!

WIC
So i've had a somewhat frustrating morning. I'm trying not to complain, but i'm just disappointed. I made an appointment to apply for WIC (women, infants, and children) so that I can get free formula for my son. Well after waiting for 2 hours even though I had an appointment, they basically told me that my husband is making too much money by a couple hundred dollars so I am inelligable. HA! Making too much money?! Tell that to the bills ;) They tell me this right after they just told me that my son is currently using about 13 cans of formula a month and they would be able to give me 10 free, so I would only need to pay for 3. I was so excited about how much they could help us out and now it's not going to work. It just stinks. I can promise them that we're not making "too much money". But I guess I need to be thankful that we don't fit into that bracket and that we are doing well afterall. It just would have been nice to know that before I sat and waited for 2 hours. But oh well, there are worse things in life.
