Here's a picture of our baby boy staring at his favorite toy. He has recently started "talking" to his toys like he does with us. I can't believe how fast he is growing up!

Cutie-pie
Here's a picture of the cutest baby boy ever! We enjoyed taking a walk around the downtown area where we live. Our town was having a little festival last weekend so we ventured out for the afternoon.

Here's a picture of our baby boy staring at his favorite toy. He has recently started "talking" to his toys like he does with us. I can't believe how fast he is growing up!

My precious squirt
Well we had our first blow out with our son! That's pretty good considering he is over 2 months old now. It was hilarious... mostly because he blew out on daddy, not me! You have to read my husbands account of the incident, so make sure you click on his blog. But just in case you don't, here's a short version of what happened. http://uticas.blogspot.com/
My husband was holding our son and heard a liquidy sound coming from his rear end. He said, "honey, I think he just pooped, should we go change him?!" I said, "Sure sweetie." So we went back into his room and when my husband went to go lay our precious on his changing table, we heard splats! Here are some pictures to somewhat tell the story!!! HA!!! There is a wonderful picture that I would love to post if it didn't have a shot of my son's unmentionables.

Working Out
This week is my first full week of working out post baby. I am starting to go to the gym and work out 4 days a week. Today was a great workout! I owe a lot of thanks to my husband who has been showing me what to do and making recommendations because he works there. I am excited to get down to a good weight. Of course I want to look good but my main concern is to be heatlhy. Because I do have some health problems in my family, I want to take care of myself so that I do not struggle with it. I know just having gestational diabetes made me want to NEVER struggle with it later in life!! It is also cute to see my husband so excited about showing me work outs and whatnot. It is very encouraging! I know he's excited to get me healthy and fit.
When I go to the gym I put our baby in the nursery. He has done well in there the two days i've gone but the little booger wakes up when it's supposed to be his nap time. I just hope he doesn't get fussy for them, though I know it is bound to happen one day. It's so fun to pick up your baby when you've been away from them, even if it's for an hour. I get so excited and I know I am going to love the day he runs up with a huge smile and yells "mommy". I am already captivated by his adorable smile and the little personality that he's developing. So cheers to the gym and my wonderful family!!!

Philippians
I just finished doing a lesson with a book for my small group on Philippians. I encourage you to read Philippians and truly study it. I have learned so much through this study. Just looking at the history and the background of what was going on with Paul and the church at Philippi when this letter was written. I have learned some amazing things through the life of Paul. What zeal and joy his possesses. It's really sad that most Christians I know today (including myself) do not contain a fraction of the passion that Paul has. I think if we all truly understand what Christ did for us and how our lives can be in response to it, then we would be living a much more full life. I am praying that my heart and outlook will dramatically change. I want more than this mediocre life i've been living. I take for grantide who God is and what He's done.

Two Month Check-up
Today we had our 2 month check up. My son is a beast....
He is 97% for his height (25.25 inches)
75% for weight (12 lbs 9 oz.)
70% for his head size
I knew he was pretty long because his legs are about to bust out of clothes that are 0-3 months. I will have to go to 3-6 months just for the length. He did really well with his shots. He got 2 shots in each thigh and then he had to drink some vaccine thing which he guzzled down. The nurse was impressed with how he liked the oral vaccine. She said they usually have to squirt it in the side of the babies mouth and wait for it to go down their throat. Not my baby- he guzzled it like I guzzle a Mocha Frappuchino! Anyhow, I did pretty good with the shots. The hardest part is that he was smiling at me when the nurse was laying out the shots and then 10 seconds later he is screaming when she was giving them to him. As soon as she was done he stopped. He is such a good little guy. Here are some pictures- one from church and the other is after his bath time!
Anyhow, not much else going on. My mom is turning 50 soon... it shouldn't bother her too much because she looks young for her age but I know that can be hard for some people. So mom if you read this, Happy early 50th Birthday!

Easter
We had a wonderful Easter weekend with family. I got to see my adorable niece. She is so smart and funny and she's only a little over 2 years old. It is amazing! She wanted to hold my precious baby boy so badly. She kept talking to him and telling him "it's ok" when he cried. So here is a picture of her holding him and one of his cute smiles!

Camping Fun
Our first family trip was a blast!!! The weather was perfect and we had a lot of fun. We went to an old mill off the blue ridge parkway and walked around... we played frisbee...had a campfire and almost blew up a grill (story to be told later). My husband and I had a great time! Not to mention the fact that our baby boy decided to sleep all the way through a whole night.... 10 hours!!!!!!!! I guess he was exhausted from the mountain air and sunshine. I was shocked. I woke up around 4:00a.m. and jumped awake and thought something was wrong because I hadn't heard him crying. I went in and checked on him and there he was sleeping away in his pack n' play. Ever since that night he is only waking up once in the night to feed which is awesome! (He goes to bed after his 9:00 feeding and our morning starts at 7:00) On the way home we got to visit my husbands old roomate and their baby girl who is 3 weeks younger than our son. So I am including a picture from that visit. FUN TIMES!!!!!!! Thank you Lord for blessing our times with family and friends!
Touring the old mill... he did great in the baby bjorn
Our son and a potential future wife ;)

Success!
Date night was a success! We dropped off our little boy at my parents and left him for the first time over night. My husband and I did really well. I didn't cry at all!! We ended up going to Outback and ate out on their porch because it was beautiful. We then proceeded to Lifeway and got a new bible study to do together. From there we went by a movie theatre to see what was playing and after the disappointing selection we decided to rent a movie. But before we went to blockbuster we had to go to starbucks to get one of my favorite treats. The girl in the drive thru starbucks saw our empty carseat and asked if we were traveling alone. That sparked on a conversation about us leaving our baby for the first time. The lady was so hilarious and if we weren't in a drive thru I am sure we would have talked more about our baby and leaving him for the first time. So we then went to blockbuster and rented a movie. We had a fabulous night and didn't get to bed as early as I thought. I slept good went to church in the morning with my husband and then went to pick up our son. I was happy to see that he was awake when we got to my parents and I went and scooped him up and covered him with kisses and we snuggled. Mom and Dad said he did great but had a hard time pooping. (Story of his life) So they had to give him pear juice and lets just say that solved the problem. He emptied his system!!!
Anyhow, I have spent today grocery shopping and packing for our camping trip. My husband and I are going camping in VA for a few days. It is our first family trip! We are very excited and happy to be going. So as soon as he gets home from work this afternoon, we are off! Which reminds me I still have a lot to do while our little one sleeps...
