Sleeps like a champ
I just have to brag on my precious 6 week old. Last night he fed at 7:00 and then we had bath time. I put on some lavender lotion that is "calming for bed time". Well let's just say it worked. He slept 6 hours! He is a snuggle bug after bath time and this baby lotion makes him smell so good. A friend of mine recommended it. It is just Johnson & Johnson lotion, but I almost felt like I was drugging him, ha! So he only got up once last night to eat. He ate at 2:00 a.m. and then again at 7:00 a.m. which is our start to the day. So it was a wonderful night for him. He is so funny and developing a little personality. He recently acts like a little piggy and when we stop to burp him he gets all fussy. He just wants to eat NOW and doesn't want to take a break. I still have him on a newborn nipple on his bottle because he chugs it. Anyhow, date night is tonight and we are taking our baby boy to my parents for the night. I hope I don't cry too bad when we pull out of the driveway! Well I gotta go feed the little one...

Links are up and working
So I think my links are up and working now... so enjoy.
Random thoughts I have right now:
I have the cutest son in the world!
Yay for date night with my husband tomorrow night!
Yay for camping next week!
I just ate too much salad for lunch.
How can you eat too much salad?
If I was a millionaire I would get massages everyday and drink starbucks whenever I want to.
I have the best husband in the world!
GOD IS SO INCREDIBLE!

Just kidding
Most of my links won't work.... (see previous post) So I will figure them out sometime...
Camping
My husband and I are going camping next week in Virginia! We are excited to take our son and go on a family trip! We really hope the weather is nice so we can have fun playing.
My first night away from my baby will probably be this weekend. My parents offered to take our son for the night while my husband and I have a date night and I actually get a full nights sleep! While I am excited about it, I know I will be sad and it will be hard. But when will the first night away from your baby be easy?! So we'll see how it goes...
I finally figured out how to post links on the side here. So check out some blogs of people I know.
p.s. Our son started smiling and is making noises. He's growing up so fast! We are excited about each new phase but we want to cherish him while he's small and can't talk back, HA!

Updates
We got our laptop back from being looked at and cleaned. Everything is fine with it so praise the Lord! I had my six week check up yesterday and I got cleared to exercise and be more physical. So I hope to start working out. I only have 6 pounds to go until my pre-baby weight. But then like i've mentioned before I want to lose about 15 more. Baby and I are doing wonderfully! He is so cute and he's starting to smile now. Daddy was so happy because he smiled at him 3 times this morning! (It's so funny how my husband and I call each other daddy and mommy now) My little boy is definitely a sleeper and has slept 5-6 hour stretches! He's also toned down with the spitting up although we had a scary incident the night before last. It was 4:00a.m. and I was feeding him and he spit up with force but the bottle was still in his mouth so it deflected it back down his throat. Basically he choked real badly and wasn't breathing for a few seconds. I started screaming my husbands name and practically flipped my little boy upside down and was banging on his back. This all probably happened in a matter of seconds but it felt like an eternity before he was breathing again. I'm sure there will be more scary moments being a parent but to see your child temporarily not breathing is a horrible sight.
So anyhow, not much else going on. I've taken on household projects recently. My kitchen has been throughly scrubbed and de-cluttered. It looks great! I did my side of the closet a couple of days ago though I would like to do more. It makes me want to be on one of those organization/decorating shows. Now I have all these ideas and whatnot.
Well I need to head off for now... fun news= my husband and I found a really cheap cruise online and are debating on going. We've talked with some friends about going sometime next year, but we might have to bump up the trip because this one is an excellent price! We'll see. (Shannon, we need to talk about this!)

You know you're a mom when...
You have spit up spots on your cell phone.... AND when your baby projectile spits up and it gets all over your laptop. Um, yeah.... I might be out of commission on my laptop for a while. Currently it is working, but just a few minutes ago it was messing up real bad. The funny thing is that my baby wasn't even that close to me. It just literally flew out of his mouth like a foot and went on the laptop and the couch. I thought I was doing good by putting a towel down on the couch. I learned to do that when he spit up last week and it went all over our new furniture. So anyhow, fun times. Too bad I was bawling about the dumb computer and there's nothing I could have done to prevent this from happening. Such is life and i'm still in love with my baby boy. Pray that it's not messed up! I'll write when I can...

Venti Mocha Frappuchino and LOVE
Well I had a pleasant surprise today. My dad has been visiting me on his lunch hours when he can. He came up today and told me he was bringing me Taco Bell which is one of my favorite places to eat (it's cheap and tastes good too!). Well he walked in with the Taco Bell bag and another one of my favorites.... a Mocha Frappuchino from Starbucks. MMMMMMMM! What a nice surprise. Except he doesn't know much about the place and ordered me a Venti which is HUGE! I definitely still drank the whole thing. It has been funny because people know I love Starbucks and I had at least 4 people bring me Starbucks when I was in the hospital having my baby boy! (Caffeine free of course) It has been great to visit with my dad and he is one that will do anything for me. His way of showing love is by giving. He cooks and buys things all to tell you he loves you. He knew I went walking yesterday and want to walk more with Ethan, so he bought a can of Mace for me. He knew that I was getting lonely around here sometimes and offered to buy us cable so I would have something to watch on TV (our 5 channels doesn't cut it much). He is willing to do ANYTHING to make me happy and it is wonderful! I know that he loves and cares for me so much. My parents also offered to buy our formula for us if we needed them to. I hope that I can be as great of a parent to my kids as my parents have been to me. It's not that they spend money that makes me happy- it is the LOVE, CARE, and CONCERN behind it that is what blows me away. So thanks Daddy and Mommy!

80 degree weather
I cannot believe how warm it is here today. I took my almost 1 month old out for a walk today. I walked probably about 1.5 miles. Not too bad, I was definitely sweating by the end though. Should have worn shorts. I don't think the world would want to see my legs now though, ha ha. It was nice to get out. Now I need to find some other women to go walking with me.
The past 2 nights I have tried putting Ethan down at night and then not waking him 3 hours later, but letting him sleep until he wakes up hungry (no longer than 5 hours though) He has done well. The first night he slept almost 5 whole hours. Last night was a different story... he went almost 5 hours, but the poor baby hasn't pooped in almost 48 hours...so it wasn't exactly a restful sleep. I called the pediatrician today and they said they are only concerned when it's been almost 4 days! 4 days!! I don't know if I can hear my poor baby grunting, groaning, whincing, and straining for 2 more days. They did give me some things that I could do to try and further along the process. I tried one of them, so we'll see what happens.
Isn't it funny how conversations change once you have a baby?! It is now all about sleeping and pooping. I do love my baby boy though! Although it can be rough and there are "scary" times, words cannot describe the feeling when he nestles into my neck and falls asleep! I love being a stay-at-home mom, even though I do get a little stir crazy every now and then.
You should try it ;)

Newborn
Well I haven't written in a while because it hasn't been much of a priority. Things are now starting to "settle down" around here. It is hard to believe that i've had my son for a few weeks now. I am healing up nicely from the c-section and i'm only 8 lbs away from my pre-pregnancy weight!!! That is very exciting... although I did get my heaviest before I got pregnant. So I would still like to lose a total of 20 lbs. It is nice to hear people compliment me and for my husband to say I look "tiny" again. Ha ha. I had gained 38 lbs with my pregnancy and felt very large. But that really isn't too bad considering I had an almost 10 pounder and I was gestational diabetic.
Anyhow, Ethan and I are doing well. He sleeps wonderfully in the night, although I do get up every 3 hours to feed him. I think he has a little cold which is scary to a first time mommy. I am actually going to the pediatrician office today so I can ask them what I can do for my baby. It is hard to see him not feeling well. He is by no means a fussy baby, but has been "fussy" for him lately.
Well that is it for now, I will post more pictures soon.
