All is well

It's 8:30 a.m.  I am washing my second load of laundry right now.  Three more loads are waiting.  Two loads of clean clothes are on my bed needing to be folded.  I am doing my first load of dishes with one more to go.  My bathrooms are freshly cleaned.  There is a lengthy list of things to do today and another lengthy list of things to pack sitting on my counter.  Porter is sleeping and the girls are happily playing while I run around the house frantically trying to get something done.  And yet I am happy.  My children are happy and healthy, my husband is working hard studying for finals that I know he will do great on.  I smile to myself as I try to catch up on all the chores I have let slide this past week because I can recall each and every fun thing I did instead of chores.  A birthday party for the girls' friends, dinner at friends' house accompanied by an Easter egg hunt for the kids and fabulous conversation, a girls night out, a baby shower, visiting teaching, making/eating pancakes with the Young Women, a beautiful morning at the park with my children, the temple, a date with my husband, church.  Whew!  What a week!  I also smile because I know why I am working so frantically.  Mom, Dad, brothers, sister-in-laws, Mother-in-law, father-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends, new adventures.  So even though my day with be filled with cleaning and work, I am truly happy.  For this one moment, all is well.

Happy Easter!

Gotta love Peeps!

Ainsley and all her blue eggs (with a few yellow ones snuck in there).

Porter loved playing with his basket, the plastic eggs, and his stuffed frog.  He was a happy boy!

Eyeing all her goodies.

Saturday night we talked about Easter and why we celebrate it.  We talked to the girls about the Resurrection and why we dye eggs and why the Easter Bunny comes.  Chant was doing something else when I talked to the girls about it, so at bedtime I asked Brinnley if she could tell Daddy why we celebrate Easter.  She was able to tell him all about the Resurrection of our Savior.  It was such a special moment for me.  Kids really do understand so much more than we think.

Purple is the new pink

Mom:  "Get your bag ready for church."
Brinnley:  "I can't find my pink bag, but this purple one is okay.  Purple is the new fashion pink."

Easter Prep

This morning we dyed Easter eggs in preparation for the Easter Bunny's visit.

Porter sat in his highchair and watched the girls intently.

Brinnley was pretty pleased with her pink speckled eggs.  (The pink color was a dud, so we added different colors to its bowl and it left cool pink specks.)

Messy Hands!

Pretty much all of Ainsley's eggs are blue because "That's my favorite color."  And if we tried to put one of her eggs in a different color of dye, she would scream, "No, not yellow that's not my favorite color!"

Porter attack

Porter loves playing with the girls.  He follows them all over the house and most of the time he is fast enough to keep up with them.  But sometimes the girls get a headstart and this is what happens. . . I wasn't fast enough with the camera, but just before I got there he was laying on the floor trying to peak under the door.  Just behind the door came squeals of delight from the girls, "Don't let him in he'll attack us!"

That's all, I promise!

Brinnley had colored a picture for the Easter Bunny and he was very surprised when she handed him the envelope she had stuffed it in all by herself.

Brinnley searching for us after she had gathered all the eggs she wanted.

Porter was awake and happy the whole time we were there.

The girls waiting patiently for Brinnley's egg hunt to start.  (They started each age group as different times.  Smart thinking huh!)

Logan Easter Egg Hunt

Ainsley had a great time on her first egg hunt.  She would pick two or three up and then run back to us and we would tell her to go find more, then she'd pick up a few more and run back to us.  Finally she said, "I want to go open my eggs."  She was done, but she got a lot and she was soo excited about it.

The egg hunts were separated into age groups.  The girls are showing how old they are so they know which group they are in.

Logan Easter Egg Hunt

Brinn was practicing her crazy poses while we waited for the Easter Bunny to arrive by helicopter.

Porter and Mom before leaving the house.

Getting ready to go.

Every year Logan Chiropractic College does an Easter Egg hunt.  The big day was yesterday.  The girls were so excited!  Ainsley couldn't do it last year because you have to be 2 to participate.  This year she had her basket and she was ready!

My Favorite place

These pictures are taken in an area called Winghaven.  It isn't too far from our house.  This is one of my favorite places.  There is a Boardwalk on the edge of a pond where the kids and I go for walks to feed the ducks.  And there is a gazeebo that we sometimes take lunch and eat at.  Another one of our favorite places is also here: the library.  (Notice the blossom trees in the background of the first picture.  Those are my favorite trees!  Beautiful!)

Porter at 10 months

Porter will be 10 months on Monday.

We spiked his hair today and it looked so cute!
He looked like a little man.

Have you ever seen such a square face before?

I love the drool!

Laundry day

Brinnley loves to help me fold laundry, or more specifically socks.  She takes each sock and folds it in half and then sets them nicely in stacks.  (They are not folded as pairs, just individual socks.)  She loves to help and I think it's cute!
