Science Fun for the Seven Year old!

Will is really into science and loves science experiments. We have the magic school bus collection and he loves to do those with Clint. So, we made "science experiments" his theme for his 7th birthday.  We invited seven boys over for the party and to camp out.
The party turned out great~I made each child a science notebook with the experiments we did so they could do them at home.  The mentos in diet coke and elephant toothpaste were two of the favorites :) We also had pizza, did a scavenger hunt, made s'mores, and four of the boys stayed over.  Will had a great time and I think it is something he will remember forever!

safety goggles, magnifying glasses, syringe looking pens and science notebooks!
I ordered these cookies to go with the theme~they were so yummy.

The kids really got into helping with the science experiments and waiting for the reactions.

The morning after, five tired boys!

Love this picture of Will opening is ipad mini~he was so excited and so surprised.

Our Summer Wrap Up

It seems like so long ago... I am definitely behind on the blog! Our "summer" vacation was the month of June, when Will tracked out from kindergarten before he began first grade.  During the month of June, we went to see the durham bulls, the kids played baseball at the ymca, we went to the beach for another week, lots of playdates and visits to the parks, library and pool~and then back to school we went!
Leah had her kindergarten orientation night in June!

Lots of fun on the beach!

The kids loved baseball and made new friends~Will is excited to move to coach pitch next year!

Lots of trips to the library to get some of our favorite elephant and piggy books :)

Acting silly on July 4th!

Some of the neighbors that came over to set off fireworks with us.

Back to school for everyone!  I taught a nine week interim position for July and August, Leah began kindergarten, and Will is a big first grader this year!

No more Preschool!

Leah graduated from preschool and is off to the "big school" with her brother next month.  She is so excited and so ready for kindergarten.  I can't believe how much she has grown and changed this year.

Durham Bulls Game

We had a great time at the Durham Bulls Game!  We went with our friends and their twin boys and it was a great night.

Leah's Five!

I really do not know where the last five years went...but our baby girl is five!  Leah is such  a sweet, caring and sensitive girl with a wonderful imagination.  She LOVES to play make believe with her dolls and lalaloopsys.  She can be a little "determined" (stubborn) at times, but it will be a great trait to have later on :) She had a great day celebrating with friends and family.

Blue Jay Point Park

We spent part of Sunday morning/afternoon playing on the playground, hiking in the woods, skipping rocks, and having a picnic lunch at the park.  It was a beautiful day and the kids had a lot of fun!

Leah resembles Clint so much!

Will was watching the water and how it was taking leaves away~he loves to see how things work and loves anything in nature! (Especially catching bugs!)

Dance Pictures

Leah had her dance recital pictures this past weekend.  It was a beautiful Saturday and we were outside all day.  When it was time for pictures, we washed up, threw a few curls in her hair and were on our way! She looks so grown up....only a few more days of being four!

Leah "posing" for me when we got home :)
