2 and a half!

I can't believe it but in a bout a week Blair will be 2 and 1/2! She has grown so much in the last six months. She is talking up a storm and has the cutest little voice. She is so fun to play with, but is also super awesome about playing by herself when you need to get a few things done. She sleeps in her big girl bed and LOVES it! She goes to bed without a fight. Sometimes though she doesn't go right to sleep. She is known for singing to herself and her babies to sleep. She has been protesting nap times a little bit. Everyone once in a while she gets away without taking one. Usually though I stick her in her bed and as soon as I leave she is running around. I hear little pitter patter of feet. Then all of a sudden it is silent. I got up and check under the door (I refuse to open it cause who wants to wake a sleeping toddler!) and see her light on but she is passed out somewhere in her room on the floor. She can count to 20, and can count backwards from 10! We are working on her colors. I think she knows them but gets stuck on one color and says that color every single time you ask her what color something is for a few days. She loves shoes! She is always asking for a new pair. She is starting to form an opinion on clothes, shoes, hair bows etc. If she loves something she will scream in delight and say "I love it!" If she doesn't like it she says, "I don't like it mom!" She makes the funniest facial expressions. If you ever want to know what she is thinking you can tell by her face. She loves playing with her babies, but is also known to play bat man with Lukas. She is also always wanting to play tea party. She is finally getting interested in letting me read to her. I love reading books to my kids and am so glad she is finally sitting still and letting me read to her. She loves going to church but all during sacrament meeting she asks, "Time for toys yet mom?" She really is such a cute happy girl! Even if she is growing up too fast!

She LOVES her big brother! Even if they have been fighting a lot lately!
We bought these boots the other day. She loves them! She wanted to go outside and I told her to go get some shoes on. She came out wearing pink glitter boots with shorts!

She had to put on all 3 dress up tu tu's the other day! She wore them for a few hours too! So funny!
If it is one of the days she gets away with no nap she usually passes out on the floor around 7:30. This was one of those days!

Concussion

This little dude got a concussion a few days ago. I am still not quite sure how it happened. Lukas and Blair were playing in the T.V. room and I was on the computer. All of a sudden I heard a huge bang and Lukas crying. I rushed into where the kids were and Lukas was crying and clutching the back of his head. He said he fell on his head. I asked him if he hit it on any furniture. He told me no and that he had just hit it on the floor. I know that he and Blair were playing on a big over sized ball and I think he just rolled off of it and slammed onto the floor. Well he cried for a while and told me he wanted his dad. I laid him in bed by Dan where he promptly fell a sleep and took a nap. He woke up an hour and a half later crying that his head hurt really bad. I had him rest and he just kept crying. Then he wouldn't open his eyes and kept falling a sleep. He was also complaining that he couldn't see very well. I was getting a little worried and so I called my pediatrician. I spoke to the nurse and she had me make an appointment. She said if he got worse or threw up between now and his appointment to call back. About 20 min later his little friend knocked on the door wanting to play. Lukas didn't want to miss out on playing so he jumped up. He then walked four feet and promptly threw up on the floor. I called the nurse back and she said bring him right in. So I took Blair to the neighbors where she played till Dan's mom came and got her. (Thanks Bryan and Grandma for watching her!) We got right in and the Dr. came right in. He said all the symptoms pointed to a concussion and he wanted Lukas to have a cat scan done just in case it was serious. We took him to the hospital to get it done. He was so good and so brave. I was nervous that he would freak out and we would have to sedate him. We bribed him with Sweet Tooth Fairy cupcakes. That was the key he did wonderful! We were also so grateful when the Dr. called us and told us all was well. He said for Lukas to take it easy and avoid activities where he could hit his head again. The next day you wouldn't have even known that he had, had a concussion. He was back to his hyper fun loving self! I am so glad everything turned out okay. It was a little scary.
