Yummy lemons

Yesterday we went to dinner with some friends. We went to the Texas Roadhouse Grill. I was so proud of Lukas. First off it is a little bit of a drive, plus we had to drop off our friends kids at the sitters. Lukas was lucky enough to get to go with us. So we get their and it is SUPER crowded. It was an hour wait (which turned into a little longer then that.) I thought for sure he was going to have a huge melt down. He hadn't eaten since lunch and we left pretty early so we thought we would beat the dinner rush. He only cried twice the whole time at the reasturant and it didn't last very long. He kept grabbing my lemon and eating it. He didn't stop once after tasting it either. He would put it down make a funny face and pick it back up and go at it again. It was funny to see his little face scrunch up at how sour it was. Luckily we caught a few good pics.

Christmas Day

Christmas was so much fun. Lukas got up bright and early at 5:45, Even though he had been up most of the night and also most of the night before as well. Lukas decided to give mommy and daddy a Christmas present of his two front teeth. So I guess the All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth came to reality for us. I am pretty sure he is cutting almost all his bottom teeth at once right now. When Lukas woke up we had Cinnamon pankcakes with home made syrup. Then we went in and saw what Santa brought us. Lukas got a big fire truck with legos inside it, an old fashioned ride on police car, a HUGE cuddly teddy bear, and some books from Santa. He also got some books, balls and a mister potato head, from mommy and daddy. After we had played for a while we went to Grandma and Grandpa Cranes house. They got Lukas a radio flyer wagon. It is so cute and we can't wait to use it when the weather gets nicer. He also got some clothes and blocks from Ikea. Lukas loves to send the blocks down the little people garages ramp. After Grandma and Grandpas house we went to great grandmas and aunt Suzannes house. There were lots of my family there and we had a great time. Lukas was so happy and good the whole day.

All of Lukas's toys from Santa before he got to them.

Lukas reaching into his stocking to see what Santa stuffed inside.

These legos came out of the big fire truck Lukas got. He kept crawling around with one in each hand all morning long.

Lukas loves to push the Tonka Trucks horn.

Isn't this Old Fashioned police ride on car so cute? I love it!

Christmas Eve.

The Christmas holiday season has been so much fun with our little Lukas. We spent Christmas Eve with Dans family. It is always nice to have yummy food and good company. Before we left we let Lukas open his Christmas Eve gift from us. It was the only gift he actually opened by himself the whole night. We decided that every Christmas Eve we would have our kids open a book that we would read to them before bed. So Lukas got his very first Christmas Eve book. At Grandma and Grandpas Lukas got a 3 in 1 Tonka Truck. He loves it! He also got a little people garage from his Cousin Dalton. He loves the garage and sends everything but the little people cars down the ramps. Blocks, sippy cups anything you can imagine.

This blow dryer came with one of the toys that stays at Grandma and Grandpas. It actually blew out air and Lukas thought it was cool and kept sticking it in his mouth and turning it on so he could have the air blow in his mouth.

YAY for my new Tonka 3 in 1 truck.

Daddy reading to A.J. and Lukas at Grandma and Grandpas. I think Lukas is more enthralled with A.J. then the book.

Lukas getting ready to open his first present of the Christmas season.

Almost got it unwrapped.

Snow Day

Yesterday was the first time I took Lukas out to play in the snow. He had been sick all the previous times it had snowed a lot. So I bundled him all up and out we went. He like it at first and was smiling and playing. Then he sort of got this I had enough face. I think it might have been because he was so bundled up. This kid hates to be bundled and confined. He hated it from day one he wouldn't even really let us swaddle him for long. After about ten minutes of playing he had, had enough. So I picked him up and took him inside. At least I got some cute pictures out of it.

Santa

So I went to the mall to meet up with some friends today. I looked over at the line for Santa and it was so short. So I thought I would take Lukas to see him. We got close and he was a little apprehensive, but I thought what the heck. Well as you can see it didn't turn out so well. The minute Lukas sat on Santas lap he started screaming. Santa was so nice though and just kept asking Lukas if he wanted a truck for Christmas.

Lukas was NOT happy to see Santa. I hurried and snapped a picture and got him off. Luckily Santa was very nice!
Lukas and his girlfriend Anna holding hands at the mall. They kept waving at each other and holding hands and giggling. Anna is only one week younger then Lukas.

Train ride

So we took Lukas to the mall today to see Santa. The line was SOOOO long. We decided to boycott Santa this year and just ride the train. That was fine with Dan and I since we are pretty sure that Lukas wouldn't like Santa and would be scared. He is really scared of older men for some reason. Lukas thought riding the train was super fun. He kept waving at everything and just looking all around. He also kept pointing at all the little kids watching him ride the train.

Even though we blocked off our Christmas tree Lukas somehow got to it. He can only get one branch though. It cracks me up because he doesn't care about anyone elses tree but he laughs at ours and only tries to get ours.

Almost walking

I think Lukas is well on his way to walking. He now stands for long periods of time on his own. After a little bit though he gets a little scared and just sits down. He also loves this walker toy. He will pull himself up on it and just walk around the living room with it. I have to watch him closely though because it goes a little fast for him and sometimes he biffs it onto the floor. I also have to turn him around once he hits the end of the room so he can go to the other side of the room.

Ruff Ruff

Lukas LOVES dogs. Everytime we read a story and a dog is in the book I say doggy ruff ruff. Well he has now picked up on what a doggy says. So if you ask him (he doesn't always answer though. HA HA) what does a doggy say? Lukas can now reply with ruff ruff. It is so cute. The other day we went for a walk and a dog was barking at us and he just kept pointing at it and saying ruff ruff. Our neighbor has a dog named blu and whenever the mail man comes he starts barking. Lukas will point at the window and say ruff ruff. This morning I was awakened to ruff ruff while he was in his crib. He doesn't say much else excpet for babbles and mamma and dadda and the occasional no. Too bad we couldn't get this little guy a puppy for Christmas. Maybe next year!

This is sort of an old Pic but it goes with the post.

Craft day!

My friend Madlyn had a Christmas craft day at her house. It was so much fun. We just made little kid crafts. It took me back to the olden days. We made little snowman ornaments out of popsicle sticks. We made reindeer candy canes. We made GREAT (sense my sarcasm) ginger bread houses. We tried to put the roofs on them but they kept collapsing. I totally remember the same thing happening when I was younger. Finally I gave up and made my cracker box ginger bread house. Lukas had fun just playing with the other kids. The graham crackers and frosting were fun for him as well.
This is my cracker box ginger bread house! HA HA it is so hideous.
Yum! Lukas was really enjoying this Graham cracker with frosting.

Just playing around with the reindeer noses and antlers.

Lukas just crawled right over to Ciera and sat right in between her legs.

My grandmas bday!

My grandma turned 80 on the 30th of Nov. My mom had a birthday party for her yesterday. We are so glad that we have our grandma around. She is such a great grandma. I hope that we have many more birthdays to celebrate with her!

My grandma blowing out candles on her 80th bday!

I put a little bit of root beer in this glass for Lukas. He was getting a little fussy and I was trying to keep him happy. He loved it and thought he was so big for being able to drink out of a big kid glass.

Lukas spilled root beer all down his back. We ended up bathing him and luckily Jourdan had some six to twelve month jammies. We borrowed them so he could be all ready for bed.

Lukas loved Grandpas train. Amazingly though he didn't touch it. He didn't even touch their Christmas tree!

Sick Days

Our family seemed to have gotten the change of weather cold. We are on the up and up but it has been a sad week. Lukas and I haven't left the house once since Monday. On Monday we only went to have his ears checked. Ear infection free so hopefully it stays that way. Since we haven't gone anywhere we have watched a lot of Sesamee street. We have played with toys and gotten a lot done around the house. Lukas also now can roll a ball back and forth between us.

Lukas loves to play in his exersaucer and spin around in circles over and over again. He just lays back and rests his head on the back of it and goes around and around.
There has been a lot of temper tantrums this week. This one was because I told Lukas he couldn't have anymore smores bars! He wasn't very happy. I gave him a cracker instead.

Lukas blowing kisses! He is getting very good at these!

There has been lots of playing with my toys. Also lots of getting into things I am not supposed too.

We are most thankful for?!

In honor of Thanksgiving yesterday I thought we would do a post on the number 1 thing we are most grateful for LUKAS!!!! We are so grateful that he is in our lives. It was such a struggle to get him here. For the little moment of heartache we went through we got a thousand times more joy with his arrival. Lukas we are so grateful to have you in our family. We love you!

Lukas when he does silly things!
Lukas when he is smiling so big!

Lukas even when he is crying!

Lukas when he is sleeping. We are also very grateful for NO more bottles! So in honor of Lukas and his bottle I had to post a picture of him drinking from one. He has been bottle free for 1 week.

Christmas Cards

Today I got out Lukas's Christmas outfit. I wanted to take some pictures of him in it for our Christmas cards. I put the pants on him and they were huge! They just kept falling down on his hips and covering his feet. Once I put shoes on him it wasn't so bad if I rolled the bottoms. I just hope that he will grow a little bit so he can wear his 12-18 month clothes that I bought him this winter. We went over to my friend Madlyn's to take some pictures for our Christmas card. They turned out super cute and I was happy with them. Lukas wasn't having a very good day today so he wasn't that cooperative, however we still got some cute ones. I didn't include the picture that I am putting on our card because it is on my friend Madlyn's camera. Her camera was a little faster then mine so we got a really cute one of him smiling. Also it helped if I tried to entertain him while she took pictures. Thanks Madlyn for your great idea and letting us use your house!

Look how big my Christmas outfit is! Especially the pants!
Lukas's new favorite activity pulling out all the dvds and throwing them on the floor!

I am the best present ever!

Bed Head

Lukas woke up from his nap yesterday with some serious bed head. We just sort of laughed. Then we sat on the couch and Lukas climbed straight out of my lap so he could sit in Dans lap. Then he just kept giving Dan hugs. It was so cute. He must have missed his daddy while he was at school. We decided to go for a walk. So we put a hat on Lukas. He kept taking it off while we were in the house. He finally left it on as long as it wasn't covering his ears. We went outside and I recovered his ears because it was a little cold. I guess since we were outside he didn't care anymore and he left his ears covered.

This is how Lukas's hair looked after his nap.
Lukas wanted some loving from Daddy after his nap.

Just leaving on our walk. We put the hat on to cover up Lukas's bed head. He isn't sure if he wants to keep it on though.
