nothing much to do for a long time

just sitting around the last few days waiting for the sky to fall. i have been watching my prison break season 2 after 5 weeks of the computer file waiting for me to load it to vlc player. all my whole 11 episodes from season 2. then i got so pissed off coz peekvid or daily motion do not have the file loadable online. why must there be such things as copyright law.

now i have to remember to get it from darren. nelle probably has the whole file but wel....l nelle is probally on the plane to US now. waiting for her to come back will take ages. nelle is crazy about wenty and she is self dreaming of her marrying him. it takes a warped mind to think of something impossible like that.

was watching anastasia on youtube. this is like the 20th time i am watching this cartoon. i mean although it is not disney, i think it is probably on my top 5 cartoon list after lion king, lady and the tramp and swan princess. all with either or ranking on my list.

all the songs from the anastasia sound track are just so good. at the begining? once upon a december? journey to the past? all of these songs i have heard and probably remembered since the first time i watched the show. and guess what? the voice of anastasia is meg ryan and kristen dunst. and drimitri is john crusack. talk about good casting man. and you cant even see the face

this is not really in disney animations but it is even in the more obvious in modern shows of the casting for cartoon voices are getting pretty good considering that you totally cant even see the face and thr true acting talents. for example

charlottes's web: julia roberts, oprah winfrey
shrek: mike myers, eddie murphy, camerian diaz

see? and these animations are actually making big bucks. they have to spend big bucks to get big bucks. but the question is = do good voice casting have an influence on the people who watches it?

terrence has landed in london already and is happily enjoying himself in the freezing cold weather already. just that yesterday the few of us met up for a small lunch gathering at holland V. me, dennis, ter, dinah, hy, grace. apparently found out that keelong is in thailand, mingfeng is selling uniforms, marge is a good granddaughter and dennis sent the wrong marcus sms. and kel and nikki still happily enjoying themselves in some part of europe and china respectively.

WHY ARE FWOC GATHERINGS ALWAYS SO FUN although we dont do anything?
you just sit there and listen to hy's one liners, dennis making fun of grace, grace taking 2 hours to eat half a bowl of noodles, dinah scraping for vegs and the duck bones, ter hair being long (and longer when he gets back 6 months later).

we really did nothing. just sat there and talked bout alot of things. din know that talking with people you have only spent that much time together can be so good. i can have more things to talk to with my fwocers than my entire long wing put together.

reflecting on such times just makes me sappy all the time.

and the funny thing is that i can always write a long post about even a half hour gathering. so funny how much i feel for this group of people.

but seriously, they all sound the same.

this semester smells good. i have collected probally every grade from C+ upwards. all except an A. that means that i have something special and new this semester. this is my first and probably my last A+. i have a A+ for a module that made me so happy. biophysical I LOVE YOU. effort so does not determine your grades. i spend the whole semester skipping lecture and i end up doing so damn much better than expected for ANY SUBJECT.

my cap jumped 0.13 points. but i am still short from a 3.5. that means that i am still not a second lower when i am 0.03 short from what i aim this sem. that means that i did not too bad this sem. good job shanny.

well... next sem is cap of 3.6 and that means that ill have to find some nice modules to take. something easy and scorable. next sem ill be trying to get nothing short of a B.

MERRY CHRISTMAS PEOPLE!!!

it the season to be jolly all over again and being proud to be jolly all over again. and this year is different, we have no house gathering with turkey and ham. no more pot luck since not much people can join us. corinna is at her aunts and jillian is just no where to be found. but we decided to go all out to play games at mind cafe at boat quay. just the few of us since the rest of the world cant make it.

i must tell you how long i have not seen lynette and canice. they almost dissappeared from the face of the earth. corinna is another story since i have not seen her since GOD knows when. and jillian on the other hand i've seen too much in the course of the semester.

but it is okay. three is better than none. ahmin came also so it makes four to play stupid games in a cafe on christmas eve. this is my first time at mind cafe and i think it is damn cool. good to have a big group of people here to play games. most of the games are so damn retardedly fun and plain stupid it is so funny.

i actually really loved this game the most. i think that it is so funny coz certain boyfriend just cannot get his geography right. for the question "the largest states in amercia" our dear friend went "amazon" caused me and lynette into a big laughing fit. then there was the question on flightless birds and "chicken" and "kiwi" was not on the list. then there was "name the looney toon character that are birds" and "name jungle book characters" and "name alice in wonder land characters". WE KNEW THE CHARACTERS. we just dont know their names.

then there are other more stupid questions like name the biggest organ and the fastest animals in the sea, land and air. all which we have almost ZERO general knowledge to complete.

but at least i wasnt the ultimate LOSER like certain two people

and did you know i was losing all the way cause i cannot buy any property. both me and canice wanted to die under the reigns of ahmin and lynette. both ahmin and lynette wanted to carry on the game and both me and canice wanted to end the game by 11.40pm. it was torturous to keep paying ahmin hundreds at a time. that was so much of my money going to waste.

I WANT HILARY DUFF'S HOUSE!!!

it is so pretty. looks expensive but not over doing it. some on man. the amount of dark rose wood there makes me wanna buy the house. IF ONLY I HAD THE MONEY. but hilary do have one heck of a house. it looks like the kind of country villa i want. was watching mtv the other day and i saw this.

it is so homely. not like the other big celebs where it is all clean and angular. this house is full of wood and dark colored furniture. everything looks so good. just that it would most probably cost more than a bomb. maby the price of an atomic bomb.

check this out man. the external of the house is just so pretty. in order to get a land space to build a house this big you will either need ALOT of MONEY or.... you will have to kill the president and take over the isana land space. swimming pool, deck chairs and a good amount of sun is all that is needed. crap. how much does hilary make anyway? apart from all ther disney kiddy shows and her ocassional movie, 3 music albums and her clothes and fragrance line. (i guess that is already ALOT) and she is bloody one year yonger than me.

i really needed it. my old wallet was too "expensive" to me to buy a new one. and since someone bought it for me i might as well use it. it was one of those secondary spurges that was expensive to a 14 year old shanny. i bought my wallet at $46 when i was in secondary 2 and that was probally a large percentage of my allowance. and end up i treasured my wallet so much i din dare to change it.

besides... i am a very PICKY wallet user.
MUST be of right width and length and thickness.

end up using my old red lined black leather leafland wallet for 7 years. and since my ron bought me a wallet i might as well throw the old one away. at least this one doest shed leather when wet. and it is of a very nice color. though i would really want to have it in maroon or turqoise but they dont have it at all. boohoo...

what is left is for me to collect my new handphone. my new sony ericsson W850i which i have already waited one week for and have to wait probably another week since singtel ran out of it. but i cant wait to get my new phone.

lousy quality and bad lighting



i know but at least i manage to make my very OLD webcam work. this webcam is not just old but so old it is actually the first few batches of webcam that is out on the market. it is so old sch that you can even put in batteries and you can use the camera outside to take picture like your usual digital camera. just that you cannot see what you are taking coz there is no screen. you just put your eye through the view hole (like film cameras) and take the picture.

i think this camera was gotten in 2000 in some lucky draw and it was used on my window 98 computer long long time ago. and now i am using such a rotten camera on my modern mac powerbook and it actually works. i have been looking for a web cam for the longest time. i totaly mind getting a new one.



the stupid camera is so old i am so surprised that my dad actually kept the box. and with a layer of dust on it too. is it called the pencam trio and it only cost US$9 to buy it on ebay. a new one on amazon.com cost US$29.90. not really very cheap for something is so only 0.31 Mega pixel quality.

some things you see, some things you dont, and some things you wonder why you see

there are so many things that you see when you walk down the street everyday. just that in my case i dont have much "streets" to walk down since i pratically LIVE on NUS. but when you do get the chance to once in a while you see things that makes you really wonder why there are such things in the world.

first off is that i got myself a haircut again. but it has been 3 months since my last cut and my hair have been forcing my brain to think of having a haircut. my hair dresser was not there and i end up getting any person that was allocated to me by the person working at the counter. and i end up with this really NORMAL CUT. i look so NORMAL i think it is UGLY. if i tell you it reminds me of my secondary school hair you just shut up and go figure it out yourself. the only thing that made it look OK is my highlights. without the highlights i would look like myself out of my cedar year book. YUCKS.

come to think of it... i dont think my cedar hair was normal.

than i walked around far east and i found out that far east really attracts the weridest of people. there was this girl that was wearing this dress which made her look 6 months pregnant. maybe she really was pregnant but i think not coz she looked so young like she was in secondary school still. if i had my new phone i would have whipped it out to take a photo of it for you. speaking of that... i cannot get to collect my new phone when it arrives. then ill have a more interesting life.

then there was this couple wearing MATCHING SHIRT DESIGNS IN THE SAME COLOR. like seriously. they look good into their late 20s and they are still stuck in the years where neighbourhood school couples room the earth. what is the point in wearing matching shirts when you spend the whole time TOUCHING EACH OTHER LIKE NO TOMORROW? i bet the world already know that you two are a couple. you dont have to announce it. seeing you grope all over him, you dont have to worry about another girl flirting with your bf. get a room!

what is with all the tights. i have seen tights in the most every possible color AND pattern there is up and down the whole stretch of orchard. lynette says that wearing tights are the same as wearing a bubble skirt. both equally a victim of horrible fashion. this is singapore. who actually wears tights all the time. and who would wear red and blue pokka dotted, purple and green stripped, gold and black, brown and green tights anywhere in singapore? japan maybe but singapore?

EVERYTHING HURTS SO BAD

when was the last time you looked into the mirror and thought to yourself "why am i so miserable?". then you look at that face of yours and think to yourself "man is my nose red". then you let your arms fall at your sides and mutter to yourself "i hate being human, all flesh and muscles is not the good."

everything seems to slow down ten times more everytime you raise your arms or turn your back. it feels all that pain and torture you have been going through. and then when you think back at those time you used to be able to take all this and now everything hurts so bad you just want to curl up and cry.

now i just hear myself whine and groan everytime i know the sun is gonna be there. i scream in my brain with just the KNOWLEDGE that there is going to be sit ups and push ups. i cry in my dreams just thinking of the sprints and the jumps. i puke just knowing that i have to be there.

it has been so long every single where hurts. every single damn where on my body. all my joints are crying out in pain. i think ill need three tubes of deepheat just to keep the muscles working the next training.

here is the final look of my GEK 1006 textbook. i was happily tabbing the book when the colored tabs ran out half book through. leaving me with the bottom layer of pages not so nicely colored. i've never tabbed my book in this eye pleasing manner before.

i hope i get an A for this module. i mean it is common sense. but then again. there are about 50% of the module takers that have done better than me. now my only hope is that the people who SUed this module will just go and die and not study for this module. i hope that people will actually forget to bring their books. or mayb better still if they loose it on the bus on the way to school. i hope this module goes WRONG for everyone else.



i am being self-efficient in making myself feel happier about this module. i mean it IS actually OPEN BOOK!!!! lets just hope the people who cannot write cant write and the people who cannot read cant read. i am so mean. but it is the real world out there man. you have to be mean to survive. and i mean this module is of respectable hope of getting a A- if i get lucky.

i love having my camera back from timbutu

this is the wedding even i cant miss even though i am in the middle of my exams. i still have a paper on monday and i have put EVERYTHING aside to just attend this wedding. i will NEVER MISS THIS EVEN IF IT IS THE END OF THE WORLD. this is really the longest awaited wedding the tan family have ever waited for. the joining of this man and woman was way pass overdue for you can say 10 years.

**yes apparently singapore cant have gay marriages coz the law says "one man" and "one woman" not "two men" or "two women"

actually saying 10 years is already me being NICE to their status. i give them 7 datin years. they have been together for 17 years!!! that is 17 years of knowing the SAME man. that is enough time for you to get married and have THREE KIDS!!!!! they have been together since they were 20. go figure her age. (opps think i was not supposed to let that out) but come on. her ability to NOT marry is infamous within the family. they have been living together in their own house for some years already. what more different is getting married?

here she have a simple garden wedding at sentosa over looking the sea at SUNSET (like how freeking romantic??) there are no more than 60 people. i kind of like a simple posh kind of wedding. everything is in the simplest. no wedding song. no bridesmaids and bestmen. no walk down the aisle. no little boy holding a cushion. no complicated dinner procedures. just pretty sophisticated decorations and good flower decors.

and best of all? it is buffet style with FREE FLOW ALCOHOL. there are whiskey, baileys, XO, red wine, white wine, beer, rince wine, vodka. and other small bottles of things i cannot tell.

buffet is served with all the european food from italy and spain. everything is so better than yummy, and i cant pronounce half the name of the dishes that i put into my mouth. these are the type of food you see served in small portions on the biggest plates when you go to a high class restaruant. there is like TONNES of meat. specially catered for my side of the family since we are all BIG meat eaters. even the desert taste so good

there was peken pie. DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH PEKEAN PIE COST HERE IN SINGAPORE????\

this is the area they had their solomisation. a simple table with the sea and sunset as a backdrop. then there you have a western style wedding. like the Amercian version of the garden wedding in the middle of the day. just that you cannot have it here in Singapore in the middle of the day coz you will be sweating so profundly you rain. so they have it in the evening. SO MUCH MORE ROMANTIC MAN!!!

i was telling my cousin that if i wore her dress ill be sexier than her. since she is to thin, the dress fits nicely on her showing her half back. if i wore the same dress the zip will probably only go till high enough for me to have a full backless dress. than ill be so much hotter than her.

i caught the bouqet.

you should see the number of people who were laughing behind coz i sounded so desperate to get it. AND I WAS THE ONLY ON!!!! lucky the whole weddin only have a max of 60 people. so only 60 people at MOST know that i behave like a kid at the wedding.

one of the reasons why I WAS THE ONLY ONE. was becaure i was the only other single person who have a boyfriend. my dearest other cousin is well known for her ability to not have one so it is only me in the pic. and also since the rest of the people at the wedding were either younger than 18 or married. so they were all not included.



i took all the flowers i could get my hands on back to hall. my cousins wedding bouqet (which i caught) come roses from the table centerpiece (really expensive since they are HUGE) and i ripped a bouqet off the deco along the stairway while leaving the place.

I LOVE FLOWERS. although i may think that it is clique and romantically CHEEZY. i think ANY girl still love flowers. esp when they were a surprise. i gave a stalk to van! and van went on and on IN MARTINS presense bout not having flowers for a long time. FUNNNY.

what the hell is wrong with all these people. dont you know that the whole KR and shears population is going to be so mad. that is making us all 1000 people walk an extra 50 meters up something that is not called a slope. that is so much on energy to be wasted coz the just want the people turning in to have a line of sight when turning.

that actually makes another 50m dash maraton when you want to catch the bus to PGP or BTC. there are no accidents occuring at the junction so i really dont understand why they must trouble 1000 people in relocating THEIR BUSTOP?

people like me will just suffer so badly.

i paid for my school fees for the CONVENIENCE of acutally HAVING a busstop near hall. so that i can EASILY ACCESS my living quarters even tough i am so FAR AWAY from school. seriously. you move the busstop and my walking distance is the same as walking to my house busstop. FUCK.

seriously. i PAID my school fees. the people who are using the road dont have the right to deprive me of what i SHOULD have. this is stupid. they pay the road tax everyyear. but comparing the portion of school i have to pay compared to your stupid road tax. the higher payer wins. SCHOOL PROPERTY IS MINE!!!!! this is based on economis and capatlistic theory. singapore is a capatist society so i should get my bus stop back.

i sprained my neck

off all the time in the world. i have to do it when i have a paper tomorrow. my neck is so sprained that there is this really sharp pain in my neck when i TRY to turn my head. my poor head. now my head is at a perpetual tilt of 5 degrees left coz if i move it in any other way it will hurt so much.

why today? what have done wrong the entire day to result in this stupid head unturning accident. crap. my head was relatively ok this afternoon when i woke up. but it got worse as the day ran on.

i look stupid and literally retarded. only retarded people have to walk around with a permenantly tilted head. i feel like a barbie doll. looking so cute but at the same time unfuctional since the DAMN HEAD CANT DAMN BLOODY TURN ONE DEGREE IN ANY DIRECTION!!!!

because of this stupid head i dont have the mood to pick up my books even though i have not studied enough. damn it. i cant even read in peace coz it takes up so much energy to hold my head at that position. and tomorrow i have a two hour paper and a wedding dinner and i have one position to place my head.

but the big question is now am i going to keep this head from producing sharp pains in my neck for my whole 2 hour paper and not get affected by it? this is totall crappy. i hope i can get extra time. damn it. mayb ill jsut screw the whole paper.

b blk is offically the block who has the most internal couples. the year 2006 is a good year to get attached if you are residing in the block. the aura is good and productive. hey people. if you are desperate MAYBE you can request to come to b blk for a semester and i gurentee that you will walk away with something in your hand.

even the famous story of the BIG LOUD sexcapade occured here in the block.

b blk very happening ar? i know you just want a piece of the gossip. it is so surprising that 8 out of 18 of the floor is attached to someone in hall. that is like 1/3 attached to KR. wow.

so many people attached in the hall. i think last years 23 couples have increased many folds this sem. shuying and serene: you comfirm have to recalculate the numbers. i think this time your head will burst. hahah. count until you have no more fingers and toes and fingers again. then you run out of toes again.

it is so funny the process of hall dating

1. two people do not know each other (outside)
2. two people know each other by name and face (not near door)
3. two people hang out together with common friends (near door)
4. two people starting to visit each other rooms (note door is open)
5. two people start to watch movies / soccer together (note lights out but door open)
6. two people start to obviously spend time together in room (evolves to door closed but latch out)
7. two people continue to spend time together in room (door closed)
8. two people denying that there is something going on between them (no one believes coz door is closed)
9. two people spending so much time together the slippers love the company of the floor till later night hours (door closed and probably latched)
10. two people together (door closed and confirm latched)

the door and the latch is symbolic in KR dating process. you can always judge the status of two person in hall. everything occurs about the same way. i dont deny. just that i probally skipped process 6 and process 5 is not totally true. but this is the template of hall relationships.

according to the Kersigysnghh's love pattern theory. relationship pattern are controlled by the environment. couples who are conditioned to live in the same social environments will experience the same experiences. apparently KR is homogenous.
