Long time no see!

A very long while since I last written a blog post. (I guess I've been starting the post with this statement repeatedly everytime for the past 10 posts or something...) Determination... is indeed something challenging (no doubt). Even blogger log in has changed and there's now Google+ and so on.

Almost 16 months working in the current organization, coming 4 months in the new post. A lot that I've learnt, a lot more that I'm trying to learn - to struggle, to survive and to excel in the corporate world is an life-enriching journey. For me things are moving further and further away from the innocent schooling days.

Once upon a time I look forward to be working in a big company. I still do fall in love with the idea of living an interesting-enough life in a metropolitan city. Its starting to become a bit tiring though, to know where I want to be and not know how to go there. Furthermore given the directions to reach my destination, I only want to know/care about the things I choose, not everything in the picture coming as a package.

school daze

occassionally find places around colleges having great hang out spots. cheap and big meals with super comfy environment crowding around a whole cluster of schools, plus points for student life especially during university/college days.

of course, there's adult hang outs (places selling alcohol/after-work hang outs) here too! most of the time only paying attention to these as you join the working society and people start recommending these places to you. followed by a I-didn't-know-about-it face. and so every time you revisit, you discover something new and interesting.

obviously all the those-were-the-days stories start to replay as you wheel down the familiar roads or cram at junctions trying to measure the exact inch of parking. then you'll totally start regretting not having to fully utilize every mimute you used to have during schooling times (sometimes you might even habe the idea of continueing studies!).

action

As age slowly (creepily) catches up, there are so many times where we wanted to do something but forgotten about it totally just a minute later. Despite the reluctance to admit that our brains are starting to fail us, I would put the blame on this metropolitan lifestyle.

How long has it been since your last retreat (if there was any) to some relaxing sort of nature? Smartphones and tablets had been the must-haves every minute, evwn during those already very little personal moments.

So before the world ends, plan something for the next availablevslot. Spending time with loved ones will be the one last thing you'll love yourself for doing. :)

not forgotten

do let me re-emphasize that I had wanted to write a blog post for so many times but had not done so, either because something else had preoccupied the time slot or because the urge for typing simply vanished by the minute. either ways, here I am trying to update as much as possible to this little ignored space of mine.

so technically its everyone's birthday today, 7th day of lunar Dragon year to be specific. apart from getting real sick over the new year, I guess it has been a happy one for many as there was a whole stretch of public holidays. travelling did freak me out a little as I did pretty much a nasty 1200km along NS highway. albeit not getting trapped in the jam, the entire journey down-south and up-north was pretty hectic.

so CNY this year was over in Seletar hills. very fantastic hosts with a gorgepus 3.5 stories' house. BBQ at the rooftop was unforgettable and must-not-be-missed in any case. so the over-feeding started on Saturday and barely had an end even up till today. guess this is almost all about CNY. one round in Singapore, another in Ipoh.

the year of Dragon is supposedly a not-that-bad one for little Snakes in the overall I guess. so far majority has been alright apart from muddle-headed me forgetting to bring my wallet while grocery shopping yesterday. a bit off so far but hopefully all will be good starting tml as I open my eyes!
