*Tyson and I took this week off from work to have a "summer vacation"... but we haven't left town. We have planned local adventures for every week day.*
Monday morning I had an appointment downtown (I'm in the process of having laser hair removal for my armpits). We had a late breakfast snack at one of our favorite places to get a treat (I am SO glad that we don't go downtown more often, or I would weigh 300 lbs - mostly because of this place).
Bruges & Frites is a delicious Belgian owned little gem that serves the most delicious waffles covered in Belgian chocolate, berries, fresh whipped cream, ice cream and the like.
So we ordered some "frites" (pronounced freets) with a garlic flavored mayo and a waffle each.
Tyson went for a vanilla waffle with ice cream and a dollop of speculoos - ask for a sample! (MANNA FROM HEAVEN!)
And I had a cinnamon waffle with raspberries and chocolate (which I couldn't wait to start eating and then remembered that I needed a photo).
So, when you are downtown SLC and wanting a treat - I recommend a waffle.
Amen.

And Then I Die...
Can someone please make time stop?? My baby is now 8 months old and she's about to crawl!
And this means...
that I'm going to have to keep my house clean.

Hospital Gown
Katie's surgery on Tuesday went so easy and she did so much better than I thought she would (prepare for the worst, right?).
We were there first thing in the morning and the nurses were so excited to see her and had to gather around and coo at her.
I don't think I've seen anything cuter than her little hospital gown.
The procedure took only 12 minutes (our ENT was so great) and we had her back in 20.
I'm glad it's over. She slept most of the day and was pretty much back to normal by the evening.

That One Time, When I Tried to be Creative
I recently learned how to turn this ($3 tee found on the clearance rack at Walmart (don't judge me!))
into this (ooh la la, so trendy and special)
I may have worn this shirt 2 days in a row because I am so proud of it (the sad thing is, it isn't much to be proud of).

Dear Ankles (Revisited)
Dear Ankles,
You are skinny again. It makes me happy.
Dear Toenails,
I can now reach you again. But who has time to make you look good??
Dear Belly Button,
You are your normal shape again... but you now have some "decorations". I'm not a fan of the new look.
Dear Stretch Marks,
You are in more places than I originally thought...
Dear Running Shoes,
Thank you for waiting for me. You make me so happy.
Dear Back,
I sleep on you every night. And you help me hold my precious baby all day. It's a good trade.
Dear Abs,
Where, oh where did you go?
Dear Post-Baby 5lbs,
Go away. Go away and never come back.
Dear Pretty Baby,
I would do it all over again for you. I love you so much.

Mother Knows Best
I love taking pictures of Katie. And I'm so glad that I live in the digital age so that I can take lots and lots of pictures of her.
Babies are hard to photograph. Did you know? But even the "bad" ones are still good. (The beauty and wonder of being a mother - there are no bad pictures of your little one.)
And there are ones like this.
I've decided that she can never grow up and must always stay this little and cute. And even if she does grow up, I will never let her leave me.
I may end up like this with her... only... you know... not evil.
