5 Years Today

Grandpa

I've had these pictures for a while, but I've been saving them for a Veteran's Day post.  Now that the day is here, I don't know what to say about them. 
This is Tyson's grandpa.  He passed away the spring after Tyson and I got married.  He was in the Pacific/Asia during WWII.

Thank you, to all who have and to those who continue to serve for our country.

Just Cuz

I finished my third half marathon for 2009 yesterday.  It was the "Just Cuz" half marathon in Pocatello, ID (for all of you that don't know - I grew up there and all of my sisters still live there).  It was a themed run.  And that theme was "Flower Power".

This is me and my sister Audrey before the start.  The first 8 miles were DOWN HILL (um hi, my thighs are killing me today).

This is somewhere around mile 8... so I was still feeling pretty good.

Peace man.

But the last 3 miles were a killer (rollers???).  Audrey wouldn't let me stop though... and now I have a new PR!  The race stats came out today and show me finishing in 2:09:00, but I'm not taking it.  I was at the back of the pack when the gun went off and the timing chips were programmed to start with the gun, not when you crossed the starting line.  My Garmin says I finished in 2:08:53.  And I'm keeping it!  Wahoo for me!!!  Er, I mean... groovy.

And to make it even better, Tyson was waiting for me at the finish line with a Mountain Dew.

At the end of the race, they handed out the t-shirts and then sent you over to tie-dye them yourself. 

This is my totally awesome new shirt!

To finish off the day, Audrey's husband Ben took me, Tyson and my dad (who also ran the half marathon!) to some sand dunes and I zipped around on a 4-wheeler for a couple of hours.

I'm pretty cool, huh?

Today I hurt like crazy everywhere. 

And there is something seriously wrong with the bottom of my foot.

Seriously.

She came.  I went. 
She spoke.  I gawked. 
She smiled for the camera.  I blushed and stammered. 
She signed books for over 5 hours.  I waited 5 hours to meet her. 
She said "Drive safe!"  I think I said something...

She is so beautiful in person.

Happy Halloween

Tyson has recently become a Colts fan.  Why?  Austin Collie.  And hey, I love Payton Manning, so it works for me.

We spent the weekend in Idaho and at the family party, Tyson won an award for "Best Reciever... and Best Tight-End".
