Sleep Talker (Part 2)

I think that I've forgotten how to post on this personal blog of mine.

A few years ago I talked about how Tyson talked in his sleep.  Over the last two years he has been talking more and more frequently.

Some of my favorites, that I can remember, include waking up with his face snuggled into me as he is spooning me in our sleep to him GIGGLING LIKE AN IDIOT.

One Saturday morning as I was getting ready for an early run he suddenly blurted out "Get 'im!" quite aggressively.  I started to laugh and his eyes opened.  I asked him what he was dreaming about and he said "I was fighting Voldermort." and then he rolled back over and was asleep again.

A couple of months ago I woke up to him swinging a huge kick in his sleep while making a special sound effect to go along with it (you know what I mean, "tshooooooooooeeewwwwwww") after which he barked out "GOAL!" and then started to sing "Ole, ole, ole, ole... ole... ole" (if you've ever been to a soccer game, you know it well).

Sticking with the soccer theme, I was awakened to him pumping up some teammates "All right!  Let's go!  Let's do this!" and then he started to HUM THE NATIONAL ANTHEM.  And I'm talking FULL ON HUM. LOUDLY.

Most recent was me waking up to him talking and it seemed like a conversation he was having with Katie.  He was asking if she would share and saying that he hadn't had any... and then he says, "I want some candy."  And then his voice takes on this creeper-scary-pedophile-ness and he says again, "I want some candy."  I had to hurry and wake him up because it both made me laugh so hard and kind of creeped me out.

Every time he talks in his sleep, I'm so annoyed that I'm woken up from my precious sleep.  I'll either jab him with my elbow, tell him "Shhhhhhhh!!" or reach over and cover up his mouth with my hand to get him to shut it.  But the next morning I always laugh about it and can't wait to tell him (and everyone else) about it.

How is it already November??

I meant to link to this blog post last month.  Katie turned three on October 20th and she and I went out for a little birthday photo shoot.  So come on over to my photography blog and check it out.

I'm still begging for weddings.  So if you know of a couple in need of a wedding photographer, will you send them my way?  I'll love you forever.

Oh. Hello.

I can't even being to try to recap that last few months.  So I won't.

This picture was taken over 3 months ago.

And in a month she will be 3 years old.

No More Google Reader??

To anyone out there that still reads my blog, and used to use Google Reader to keep up with me - I'm sure you are aware that Google Reader is going away on July1st - so hurry and transfer all of your current subscriptions over to Feedly.com (it has a one click import from Google Reader and it's super easy, plus has a free app for your smartphone so that you can keep up on all of your blog reading on the go).

Does anyone even read this blog anymore?  Does anyone care?  Probably not, since I only seem to update once a month now.

Katie has allergies (some really low grade ones to food that have been contributing to all of her ear infections and eczema) - we're trying an alternative approach, I'll see how it goes for a few treatments and report back here with the findings.  It really sounds crazy and voo-doo, but I truly believe that our bodies are capable of more than we are aware of.  I promise I'm not going to turn into one of those hippie-weirdos or start burning incense or start washing my hair and face with cider vinegar (although Pinterest says it's really good for you).

Also, did you know that stress can lead to a major zit-face and gaining 7lbs in a short amount of time?  Just take my word for it.

May Instagram Dump

I really can't believe that my last post was a month ago - I used to be good at this blogging thing, but then again, so did all of you!  Why did you all stop??

I started May off with a photo challenge (which totally died in the middle and end).
1. Self portrait

Oh choir geeks - I miss you.

2. Favorite Color

Homemade chili verde at the office.

3. Hometown

Celebrating Star Wars Day

Bathtime fun.

She loves the nightlight in the hall (and no, she doesn't have one in her room - and she sleeps with her door closed, so what is the purpose of this nightlight? I have no idea).

5. Something You Can't Live Without

8. No socks

9. Work
That one time I met Olivia Newton-John.  And needed braces.

My Mother's Day gift from Katie, that lasted 60 seconds before she broke it.

Time for another half marathon!

This guys has run a lot.

Wahoo for me!  A new personal best time of 1:46:45!!

Oh hey - I made it a month without soda.  It was the same day as the race and on the way home I stopped for a Coke.

Yes.

She's spoiled.

We love the zoo.

Playing at IKEA.

She's a big kid that can brush her own teeth.

15. Family (I'm the baby)

16. Beautiful (oh look - hives again - GAH!)

We went swimming - Katie loved it, even if she didn't love the water splashing in her face.

Katie made friends with some kids when we went to cheer on her Aunt that ran in the Ogden 1/2 Marathon.

20. Squares

Katie had an ear infection again this month.  A REALLY bad one.

Playing at G&G's house.

Hiking Memorial Day weekend - where she broke out in hives on the top and we got to run down the mountain to the car. Fun stuff. NOT.

She's funny.

Playing with her cousin, Sam.

30. Flowers

I can't believe that she was this little looking a year ago.

31. Goal (these are ridiculously unreachable, but whatever - I made them back in January and I'm no where near any of them, except for that 1/2 PR)

Are you following me on Instagram yet?

April iPhone Dump

Here's what April looks like through my iPhone.

I love being able to watch Katie sleep - she's kind of a crazy sleeper.

Pictures with Mom are more fun.

Bubble baths are the most fun.

Oh, but Grandma's neighbor's slide is lots of fun too!

So is playing with Grandpa.

Katie found a ribbon in her bedroom after bath and told me she wanted it in her hair, and then asked for a picture of it.

We tried teaching her Candyland for a family game night - she didn't get it, but she still asks to play it all of the time.

Look!  I got ready for work one day!  I actually did my hair!

Boston happened.  And I went for a run on the treadmill the next night.

Katie has been learning to go on the potty.  And then two days later she wants nothing to do with it. Oh well.

We went out to eat, and the food was NOT good.  But they had a guy coming around and making balloon animals.  Katie got - what else? - a blue dog.

I won the soda bet with Tyson.  He lasted two weeks and then found this in the basement and gave in.  (I am still going strong - except for the sip that I had this weekend of his McDonald's Coke, and guess what?  It was totally gross to me.)

We turned Katie's crib into a toddler bed.  She fell out a few times in the middle of the night, so just last night we bought a pool noodle and stuck it on the edge of the mattress under the fitted sheet.  Works perfectly!  And for only $2.50!

Katie's Grandma spoils her. She absolutely LOVES this princess stuff.  I need to finally give in and buy her some dress up clothes.

We've been enjoying the warmer weather by going to the park.  Sometimes with friends.

We went to Idaho to visit family this weekend.  Thankfully Katie napped on the way up.

This girl LOVED her cousins dress up clothes!  And this awesome wig.

We went to church, got there late, played in the foyer and listened to her cousin give her first talk in Primary.

I have two photo session this weekend, and I went scouting yesterday for one of the locations.

I can't believe it is already May.
