{softball 2013}

In addition to dance, Addie is playing softball again this spring.

 She has improved her skills so much over the past year and we are so proud of her. We are trying out a different league this year and we are liking it much more.

 I have video I need to upload from her games, but here is her official photo. For some reason her head looks ginormous, and of course on Opening Day/Picture Day it was unseasonally hot and the girls were all a sweaty mess for there photos.

She's got a busy few months ahead of her with her upcoming games, dance practices, big dance recital, preschool graduation (funny, I know), our much anticipated first real family vacation, summer swim lessons and starting Kindergarten in August! Phew! I'm exhausted just typing that! Hoping I stay on top of things, I feel like I have so many gaps to fill on here from my months of slacking.

I once again commissioned my friend, Karen Stewart, to photograph Addison for her 5th Birthday. My baby is no longer a baby...that's for sure! Here's a sneak peek of her session. I'm still waiting to see them all, but so far I am in awe!

{5th birthday}

On Addison's actual 5th Birthday, she wanted to spend it at the Happiest Place on Earth! Aunt Becca met us down there and we had such a fun and special day. She was treated like a princess and got to have lunch at Ariel's Grotto.

Attempting to catch-up... I had my sweet friend Karen, of Karen Stewart Photography, snap some pictures for our Christmas cards. She knocked it out of the park! Karen is so talented and amazing to work with!

{mini funk-ette}

This past fall we decided to move to a different dance studio. Addie wanted to try a different type of dance, so we ditched the ballet & tap shoes and embraced Mini Funk (aka hip hop for 4-7 year olds). She's been loving every minute of it and constantly asks if it's dance class day. They had a little Christmas recital last month and I'm pretty certain we have a future super star on our hands! {having a hard time keeping up}

It's been a long while since I've blogged. Life has been moving full speed ahead and I've neglected this little journal for months. Every weekend seems to be filled with places to go and things to do. It makes me sad and glad all at the same time. Sad because I haven't been documenting life, but glad because I've been living in the moments. I just realized this past weekend that I haven't even downloaded pictures from Christmas off of my camera. Who am I?! LOL I'm going to make no promises to get this all updated, but I'll try my best. {the halloween of many costumes}

What a fun and exciting Halloween season we had! Lots of fun things to do an experience...with many costumes mixed in between!

We started off by attending Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland 2 weeks before Halloween. Addison decided she'd like to don one of her princess dresses for the occasion and picked Rapunzel. We had so much fun and decided that it must become an annual event!  

 On Halloween Day, she opted to wear yet another one of her princess dresses and opted for Ariel, her all time favorite princess. I turned her platinum blonde locks a lovely shade of red courtesy of 2 cans of colored hair spray paint. It was a huge mess and I don't think we'll be doing that again anytime soon, but it did look awesome!  

 And for the big night of Trick or Treating, she wore the costume she'd chosen months in advance...a peacock. It was really fun putting together and making the big tail! Definitely didn't see any others out and about! That's for sure!
