Wintery White Cuff Bracelets

cuff bracelet arm

As I gander through magazines and others blogs I am often inspired by the many artisans that have a passion to create. I have had the pleasure of working with Maggie Maie and when viewing her pieces I was inspired by her line of cuff bracelets.

I thought I’d try my hand at creating a few of my own and was pleased with the results. Now I have been busy creating gifts for a few special someones who have made special Christmas requests. Fashioned with material from an old sweater or white velvet, and embellished with a lovely broach and tooling, these once imperfect pieces all joined together to create the perfect Christmas bracelet. I hope they enjoy wearing these hand crafted cuff bracelets just as much as I have enjoyed creating them and will have the pleasure of giving to them on that very special day, Christmas Morning.

A Table set for a King

IMG_3728

A little white coffee table so full of wonder and praise to greet the great King who was born on this Christmas day. Look under the pure white tree. What gift do you see? The gift of our Jesus who came for you and for me.

IMG_3733

May your home be filled with the spirit of Christmas and may your hearts be full of his praise.

IMG_3730

May bells ring gloriously for the New Born King

IMG_3734

As Angels sing unto him and shout his holy name.

IMG_3736

As I sit and think of what this season truely means, my heart is filled with great joy. A precious and pure savior was born who later was nailed to a cross so that I (we) may live in eternity with him.

As we all come together with family and friends may we still ourselves to recognize, the greatest gift, the birth of our Great King who lives today. Take the time to sit, to enjoy priceless moments with those you love, to give generously to those without, and to look around you and be grateful for all of the gifts you have been blessed with, all year long.

Last year I found these beautiful, vintage bulbs, along with a few others, at an Estate sale and couldn’t wait to display them this year. When I took them out of their wrapping I felt like I had discovered a treasure all over again. Look at their charm, I’m sure they have a story to tell and have brought much cheer to many.

Shall I play for you, pa rum pum pum pum,
On my drum?

Among the leaves so green,
Here we come a-wand'ring
So fair to be seen.
Love and joy come to you,
And to you your wassail, too,
And God bless you, and send you
A Happy New Year,
And God send you a Happy New Year.

Wreaths of Royalty

17

I have been a busy bee creating for my upcoming Christmas show, so I have been away from the blog world. I shared this with some of my fans last year but thought you all may enjoy this short DIY also.

Did you know that a wreath goes back to ancient times and was a symbol of royalty? A wreath was called a diadem, a Greek word meaning “a thing bound around.” As other countries noticed the wreaths eventually “crowns” were created. The word crown derives from the Latin word corona, which means garland or wreath. Today, wreaths are used as holiday adornments or ornaments as attractive welcoming decorations for our front doors, even as center pieces. Feel as Royalty as you make your wreath and let it symbolize a crown as you display it in remembrance of the King who was born.

You will need: a sprig of berries, glittered leaves, ribbon or tulling, vintage pages, and a hot glue gun

Step 1: Remove each bud from the main stem

2

3

Step 2: Arrange the buds in a circle with the end under the top of the alternating piece

4

Step 3: Use hot glue to attach the end of one bud to the top of the other (Continue until all buds are attached)

6

7

Step 4: Add glittered leaves and tulling

10

11

12

13

Step 5: Tear a small banner of paper from an old book and add words that express yourself

14

15

Step 6: Add tulling or threading and string the wreath

16

Step 7: Enjoy your creation!

Magical Match Boxes

matches_5
This weather has definitely gotten me in the mood for the fragrances of candles and crackling fires. There has always been something about match boxes that seem magical to me. It probably stems back to my favorite childhood book "The Little Match Girl", or maybe it is the light and warmth that is created from each match stick.

When spending cozy moments with loved ones during this season what better way to display your matches than in an embellished box. Whether using a small or large match box create a box for the season and add it to your vignette of holiday decor.
