The week before Christmas...

It is the week before Christmas and all through the house I have been cleaning and wrapping gifts. Most every day I have continued to deep clean the house. I am attempting to scrub ever scrubable surface. It seems like a never ending chore, with the dogs and others constantly bringing in dirt and fur. And the laundry! I never knew two people could have so many dirty clothes.

Wednesday moring Steve and I took the new boat to the lake for a quick cold trip. The lake is so low, it was hard to dock the boat so Steve could pull the trailer into the water, so we thought it was be a good idea for me to do that. Needless to say I now know why I am not a "real truck driver." I could not get the trailer on the ramp straight, so finally I had to hold the boat near the dock while Steve pulled the trailer into the water. Afterwards we went to Mall of GA and Bass Pro so Steve could finish Christmas shopping.

I am now getting ready for my families to come to the house for Christmas Eve. Mom and I have been baking treats! We are planning to leave mid-day on Christmas day for our Florida adventure.

Puppy Pictures

These are pictures take just a few hours after Summer (the mommy) gave birth to Catfish and her 6 sibillings.

Merry Christmas

This is one of the images from our Christmas card photo session. Crates, was MIA so he was not in the family photo (he re-appeared just after we were finished).

We wish each of you a wonderful Christmas (and that Santa's brings you all that is on your list) and an amazing 2007. May it be the best year for peace and love yet.

shrimp, grits, lights and a new boat

Shrimp grits is Steve's most recent culinary delight. Tonight was his first attempt, and might I say the meal was really yummy!

Steve is taking a short break as he continues to cook

And last but not least, Steve's new toy... a Hewes flats boat. He picked up the boat on Friday and has spend all weekend with it. The motor has to have a short tune up, then we will be off to the lake later in the week.

These are our exterior lights on the house and Savannah saying "HI".

REMEMBER THIS AT CHRISTMAS TIME

I got this in an e-mail...very interesting...

According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, while both male and female reindeer grow antlers in the summer each year, male reindeer drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, usually late November to mid-December. Female reindeer retain their antlers till after they give birth in the spring.

Therefore, according to EVERY historical rendition depicting Santa's reindeer, EVERY single one of them, from Rudolph to Blitzen, had to be a girl.

We should've known... ONLY women would be able to drag a fat-ass man in a red velvet suit all around the world in one night and not get lost.

Yummy!

Last night we went to LongHorns to celebrate my birthday (a day belated). This was one of the few times since we have been married that we ate such a huge dinner out. The stupid diet and gym ruin everything! We both ate huge meals but the best part was the massive "Chocolate stampede" If you have not tried it, you really need to. Fortunately we had some left over for breakfast this morning. It is the best birthday cake EVER with 6 different types of chocolate and ice cream!
We called to check on little Fish this morning and she, mommy and siblings are doing great. I should be recieving a photo soon and we might even make a short trip down to see her before Chirstmas! I can not wait.
Well we are off to a family dinner...

We are new parents!

We are new parents to a healthy happy bouncing baby girl. She and her six sibilings were born early this morning. The sad part is that she is in FL, and we will not get to see her until after Christmas, then we will have to wait another three weeks before we can bring her home. Since I named the last dog (Kalicrates), Steve has named her CatFish, in honor of Lewis Grizzard. I think I will call her Fish. The other children are getting used to the idea of having a little sister, but I know they will love her when they see her. By the way Fish is a black lab. I don't have any pictures yet..

On a more boring note, I have been sick for almost two weeks now. I have this headcold that refuses to leave. Steve purchased a new GPS today that hs is having fun playing with. As matter of fact he is off in the woods right now.

This photo was the image I used for my parents Chirstmas card this year. Every outhouse needs to be festive! Merry Christmas from our house to yours....

Randon Pictures

The following are random photos from the past month or so. We have Savannah as the "Devil Dog" and Tut as a pumpkin for Halloween. Steve's little sister Lacy, being as cute as ever. A view of the fall leaves from our kitchen window. Steve is sporting his new found fashion piece, his Filson. Ducks that I found at the river. They were really friendly even though one tried to bite me.

Our First Christmas...

We decorated for the holidays just after Thanksgiving. We have a large tree in the living room, a small on in the bedroom, two little ones in the kitchen ( I forgot to photograoh them) and a tree in the laundry room. (that is the tree you see when pulling up in the driveway. We also have lightcicles around the house. It was too cold tonight to photograph them. I will get those posted later in the week.

I have had a great Thanksgiving break. Thanksgiving day was spent with Steve's family and my mothers family. We have also spend lots of time decorating the house-we are almost ready for the "Great Lighting." I am almost finished will all our Christmas shopping. My plan was to finish early so we could simply enjoy the holidays.
Only three more weeks of school til Christmas break.

Happy belated Thanksgiving,

Pictures from Last Weekend

Last Weekend

Last weekend was a beautiful fall weekend. We attended Lumpkin County football games, both Thursday and Friday nights. Saturday we spend the morning strolling aroung Gold Rush. We have both been exhasted for the past few weeks so we took a 2 hour nap on Saturday afternoon. I do not think that I have ever taken a 2 hour nap. The evening was spend with my parents in Frogtown. Sunday we drove to Highlands, NC. Neither on of us had ever been there. It was a beautiful little town, full of so many cute little shops. We continued by driving to Cashiers, which was also great. The entire drive was so pretty. I think the leaves were at peak, that far north. I will post pictures as soon as I reduce them. We returned home via Helen with a stop at the Old Sautee Store for cheese.
Today looks like it will be beautiful as well, so maybe I will get even more pictures.

FREE DOG!!!

This is Savannah after playing in the rain. She is free to great, even mediocre, home.

Just kidding, we love her, but it would be easier to give her away, than to clean her up.
Well at least she is Steve's dog and I don't have to bathe her tonight.

Sunday Trip Around the Mountains

Since this weekend is my one day "fall break". We thought it might be nice to ride up in the mountains Sunday. We rode through Helen to North Carolania and back home though Blairsville. We took the Jeep, so it was a bit chilly, but still really nice.

Steve's mom and Lacy

I don't think I have made a post about Steve's new little sister, Lacy. She was born on May 17 and became part of the family in July.

Steve's Trip to Colorado

The pictures in the previous post are from Steve's fly fishing trip. He and a friend went to Denver to fly fish. They stayed in Denver and did day trips to nearby rivers to fish. They fished the Colorado, South Platt, and Big Thompson Rivers. He had a wonderful time and saw a lot of wildlife. He hopes to go again soon and take me too! Maybe around Christmas.

Down to the Final Seconds...

Steve did not expect the game against Coloroda to be that close or excitine. We chose not to face the heat of the statium and scalper ticket prices to stay home to work. Steve spent the morning tieing flys and I cleaned the house. We went out for lunch, grocerie shoping and a trip to Home Depot. As we listened to Munson on the radio, we could not believe how bad we were losing. It was 0 to 13 until the 4th quarter. We can home just in time to watch the last 3 or 4 minutes. As you can see Steve is in his red, wearing his UGA hat and watching the game on our "big screen!"

GO DAWGS!

We had a blast at the GA game on Saturday. Steve and I went with my uncle, Lamar, and his son Ben. We had seats in the 600 section. That is the new "nose bleed"section. It was really cool being that high up. we had a great view of the field, band and were above the cheerleaders, which I am certain the guys did not mind.

We were on the opposite side of the images, thus we saw them all upside down.
