Phoenix Baby Shower

About a month ago, my friend threw me a baby shower here in Phoenix.  It was quite awesome to say the least.  I wish more people could have come just to see the awesomeness:

The food table- so yummy!

A view of the whole table- my friend went all out...

Headband-making station:

All [or almost all] my friends who came...

Some cute little booties my friend sewed me.... LOVE them!

It was a fun time- pretty sure my friend should go into the party planning business- she spoiled me WAY too much!

burstin at the seams.

Our apartment is looking ridiculous.  Little girl is taking over already, and she's not even here yet.  Here's the proof:

Some baby stuff behind the couch....
Baby furniture in the guest room.... [or maybe now I should say guest furniture in the baby's room].
Um... boxes of baby stuff in the bathroom....

.... and bumbo seats and boxes of clothes in our closet...
Yeah.  We're pretty much burstin at the seams here.  I'm feeling clausterphobic, and the last few days, I've wanted to organize EVERYTHING [nesting?].  Quite annoying actually.  Cause there's no where to put things when I do try to organize them....     One more year.  Just one more year.... then maybe I can live in a REAL house :)

And speakin of burstin at the seams [or more like burstin out of my levi's]... here's a pic of me today at 32 weeks.

TUBBA. LARD.

the zoo.

The other week Colonel's parents came to visit.  so what did we do?..... well me and Kern stood in line at the library before it opened, feelin' like real nerds, to get free passes for the zoo and botanical gardens... so we went to the zoo and botanical gardens- for free!

Here is the only picture Colonel took of us- the rest were of animals.... and I'm lookin' pretty tubby. gee.

I'm pretty sure the animals at this zoo hate their lives- too hot.  So lots of them were hiding in the shade or in their caves.  We thought this lion was pretty cool... for some reason....

 a pretty bird:

We also visited the Botanical Gardens where there are just walking trails and a bunch of desert plants and butterflies and things:

 My fat caterpillar face-

 A cool picture Colonel took-

Other than the zoo and gardens, we ate. um.... ate. and.... ate.  oh and shopped a little :)  it was pretty fun getting spoiled for a whole weekend!  and somehow I managed to gain only one pound last appointment- weird.

Lots of Pink!

A few weeks ago, I went to Salt Lake for a baby shower with all my family and friends.  I got lots of little pink outfits!  Hopefully this baby is still a girl, or it's gonna be one pink/flowery lookin' little boy :)

startin her toy collection...

One of MANY outfits I got!
Playing the "guess how fat Whitney is" game-  thankfully she was WAY off!

Me and my best friend Blaire...

Awesome blanket my grandma crocheted- thanks grandma!  Love it!

I'm pretty sure the baby will be well dressed until she is about four now, thanks to an awesome baby shower!  I was about 27 weeks at these pics, and only gettin' fatter every day.  The count down is on- 10 weeks left!  Yikes!

we left our hearts in san francisco.

First off, I must say, ya better enjoy these pictures. The post took me like 3 hours to do- anyone else hate blogger? Anyway, on with it...
For Colonel's spring break, we decided to go to San Francisco for a few days. We got lucky with good weather- it only rained on our last day- we ate lots of good food, and probably gained about 10 lbs!
Here are some of the millions of pictures (and excuse the pictures-they're all over the place. Oh, and they're all close-ups of our face, because we had to do the "hold out your hand and take your own picture thing," because we didn't dare let a stranger touch our camera. So, that's what you get. Up close and personal every time
Us at fishermans wharf:

Sea Lions at Fishermans Wharf. They are noisy!

One of the few pictures we got of the Golden Gate Bridge. Can you see it out there? Ya, we couldn't either. Everytime we tried to take a picture of it, it was so foggy we could barely see it...

On our way out to Alcatraz Island. I must say, Alcatraz was pretty cool to visit. Worth the money, I'd say.

A jail cell at Alcatraz:

Cool pictures Colonel took at the aquarium

Us at Fisherman's wharf:

Me on Monterrey Bay

Colonel finding some crabs and things.

A starfish at Monterrey Bay beach. Good photography, Colonel.

We went on this drive while we were in Monterey called the "17 Mile Drive." It is exactly 17 miles and it winds through forest, beach, mountain, etc, and every part is just pretty. We wanna live there now. Except it would cost millions. Oh well.... Here is one scenic part of the drive:

Just a pretty beach on the 17 Mile drive:

The "Lone Cypress" on the 17 mile drive- it's 250 years old. It was pretty!

Another awesome view on the 17 mile drive. You probably can't see, but there are houses on that overlook that beach there. I'll take one please, thank you.

Awesome aquarium at the science museum:

Me looking like a gomer [and shall we say quite pregnant?], freezing in the rain, standing in front of the "Full House" houses:

Colonel riding the trolley

Colonel getting desperate for a drink

It was the trolley ride above that made us late for our flight- we planned on doing about a 10 minute trolley ride as our last "hoorah," but lo and behold, it broke down, we got stuck, got on the wrong trolley at one point, etc, so we were frantic. We made it to the airport with 15 minutes to spare, me running, Colonel holding BOTH bags, people staring, etc, only to then find out our flight was delayed two hours. AH! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!? Oh well, it made for a hilarious end to the vacation.
