Sam's Eagle Scout Video

A video I made celebrating Sam's voyage from wolf to eagle scout.

An Eagle Scout, a Goal Achieved.

A couple of years ago, Sam was working on some merit badges and out of the blue he told me he wanted to get his Eagle Rank before he turned 16. Well, I made a note of that and Sam worked really hard to achieve that goal.

His certificate says that he was awarded his Eagle in May, but with our busy summer and fall, it took his mom until September 30 to get the presentation ceremony planned.

Samuel really just wanted something small and didn't care about too much...except the refreshments.

We had an ice cream bar with three kinds of ice cream and many types of toppings to choose from.

 

 

 The Veterans came and presented him with his flag.  They always do such a nice job.

We sure appreciate their willingness to come.

 

Being a Silver Beaver, Aaron had the privilege of presenting Sam with his Eagle. 

On a side note, there is always a Mentor Pin that comes with the Eagle.  This is a pin that the new Eagle Scout can present to the person that he feels was his mentor and support in the process of working for his Eagle.  I asked Sam beforehand if he had someone in mind and he said he thought he'd give it to his Dad.  Well, when he gave his remarks after, he said "I'm going to give the mentor pin to.....my Mom." What!?!  I was so surprised! What a kid!

We are so proud of him and his achievement!  Since Sam got his Eagle, it kind of put a fire under Enoch, so stay tuned.  We may have another Eagle here pretty soon.
