A Soccer Dream Come True

Enoch had an amazing opportunity this past week with his soccer team. They were invited to play on the field during half time of the Columbus Crew vs. Real Salt Lake game.

They also were able to walk out on the field during the opening ceremonies and be introduced to the crowd. I'm sure you can all imagine how excited he was.

They lined them up ready to go onto the field for the opening ceremonies.

The real highlight was being able to play on the field. He absolutely loved every minute of it.

And just to show his stuff, he did make a goal in front of the 20,ooo fans in the stadium!

He claims that the grass was wet and that is why he slipped after taking the shot.

It was a night he'll always remember.

July 4th Celebration!

Our town usually does a great fourth of July celebration at a local park. However, this year with all the high water, the park was flooded and the party had to be canceled. Well, we still needed to have some fun, so we recreated some of the activities that the town usually has at my sister Lynae's house.

First, we started off with a flag ceremony and a great breakfast cooked by David and Lynae and I'm sure others contributed. Daryl and Aaron certainly look happy to be there so early in the morning!

Later, mom judged the coloring contest. Each participant received a new pack of crayons and the winner (it was Shenna by the way) received a high five!

We played a ton of silly games. Here are three participants in one of them; Jarom, Josh and Kameron.

Another example of the games we played is profiled above. We had to spell out words with our bodies. Can you tell what is being spelled?

To top off the morning, we had a candy drop. Aunt Lynae threw candy off her roof to the waiting crowd below!

It was a fun time spent together with some of the family.

Off to the Lake

We took a quick afternoon trip to a local resevoir with the kids and the kayaks.

The dog didn't get to go.

We had a fun time just paddling around and goofing off in the water.

And of course, Enoch doesn't go anywhere without a soccer ball.

We stayed until almost sundown. The conclusion? It was a very fun, relaxing afternoon.

Father's Day

For Father's Day, Aaron got a very traditional gift: a new white shirt and tie. These pictures sure do show how fast the kids are growing up. Happy Father's Day!
